BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V825000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but stated that the VIN was not included in the recall as per the information in their system. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
While wipers are in full-time mode, they will occasionally switch to intermittent mode even though rain continues to accumulate on the windshield. This forces me to take my left hand off the steering wheel to 'reset' the wiper system while driving with limited windshield visibility. Taking my hand off the wheel during a downpour is unsafe and should be the last thing I need to be concerned about. My vehicle is available for inspection. Dealership replicated the fault on similar Broncos and said it was 'normal operations'. They claim that the wipers go into intermittent mode so the wipers motor doesn't overheat. However, there is plenty of rain on the windshield when I've experienced the transition to intermittent mode. No warning lamps, messages lit up during this failure. I have a video available that documents this issue.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that with the vehicle in park and the engine running, the vehicle inadvertently shifted into drive and accelerated up a slight incline. Upon inspection, the contact observed that the gear selector was still in park(P). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V070000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 12,500.

STEERING
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the vehicle violently pulled to the left and crashed into a guard rail. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle made abnormal sounds. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that on the Mobile App, she was notified that the power steering assist had failed, along with other unknown messages. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was then towed to a body shop. A Police report was filed. The contact had not sustained any injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

My 2022 Ford Bronco 2 door hard top has wind (air leak) noise where the T-top joins the hard top. The weatherstripping does not properly seal causing wind noise, possible water intrusion (potential mold issue). This wind noise has been brought to the attention of the dealer and Ford's regional field engineer. The wind noise can cause hearing problems but not hearing emergency vehicles, and potential heating loss. The voids in the weather stripping can allow water to enter interior causing a mold issue. The factory has replaced the hard top once, but the issue still persist. This is a common problem with hard top Broncos.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the front windshield wipers at the low or high position, the windshield wipers slowed down and almost stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed him that the windshield wipers were working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted on several occasions and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 18,822.

Windshield wipers are very slow when set to high speed. On the highest setting they are going the same speed as other vehicles low speed setting. During heavier rain visibility is near zero in the Bronco when it wouldn’t be in other vehicles.

Frequently, due to a software glitch recognized by Ford, the steering wheel controls fail to change the audio preset. When this happens, the driver must take their eyes off the road to adjust the radio station, which can be distracting. The problem will persist until the vehicle is restarted, and is often only noticed while driving.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On rare but recurring occasions, perhaps twice a month, powering on the adaptive cruise control results in one of two issues: 1. The ACC will engage, but set itself for 15 MPH, even if driving at highway speeds. When this occurs, the ACC either cancels itself out, or remains on until it detects a malfunction, and then cancels itself out. 2. On rare occasion, the autonomous breaking will, upon powering on of the cruise control, seem to detect a phantom vehicle that is not there and attempt to aggressively brake. The Ford Bronco ACC is unique in that it attempts to set the ACC on when the system is powered on, unlike other vehicles where the driver must power it on and then set it.

SERVICE BRAKES
2022 Ford bronco has by default an auto engine shut off when coming to a stop and set of conditions are met. The event occurred to a MANUAL transmission 2022 ford bronco. ~4/5/23, driver was driving up the canyon at an incline when encountering stop and go traffic. After stopping on the incline, the engine shut off per normal operation after shifting to neutral with the brake pedal firmly pushed. About 1-2 seconds after engine shutoff, while driver has brake firmly pushed, the car begins to roll back, with an apparent loss in brake power. Only after driver clutched in to first gear and stalled the vehicle did Vehicle arrest in its rearward motion, narrowly avoiding backing into the car that is stopped behind. From an outward observation the auto start/stop is not suited for standard manual transmission operation when stopped on an incline. The roll back apparently is due to loss of brake power/boost when the auto-start stop function stops the engine.

Driving on the highway, the check engine light came on. I felt a loss of power in the vehicle, and couldn't accelerate. I was able to pull over put the car in park and turn it off. When I tried to turn it on, there was no power. Had to get it towed to the dealership to replace the engine.

The wiper system when turned to the standard or fast wiping position during any rainfall condition will slowing reduce its speed in less than a minute to the slowest speed for both positions and stay at that speed regardless of rainfall conditions. Even in normal rainfall conditions this has caused serious responses because of the delay with wiper returning to clear water from window. Whether your coming to a stop behind someone or passing on a turnpike with semi's or even following in heavy traffic. I have been able to work around with a switch back and forth from standard to fast or fast to standard to keep the wipers moving however the same issue arises. Today is my first scheduled oil change and tire rotation, which is when I asked about the wipers. The service person had not been aware of the wiper issue. He looked it up and is told by Ford that there is no problem. No warning lights or messages.

When driving in heavy rain and you put the wipers on High (or even Low), they automatically switch to Intermittent after about 1 minute. They actually stop wiping at a high speed and pause between wipes for several seconds. In order to keep the wipers going in heavy, blinding rain you have to keep switching the wipers from Low to High to keep them moving. This is a safety hazard since you honestly cannot see though the windshield during heavy rain. Our Bronco is currently at the dealership being serviced. We were blinded in the rain storm traveling on the interstate. This is a very serious issue that needs to be resolved before someone is killed!!

NHTSA is showing that there is an open recall on this vehicle. I have spoken to FORD Corporate and also taken the vehicle to 2 different dealers who have all communicated the same thing: There is no recall, nor has there ever been a recall for this vehicle. I have asked the dealer to report this to NHTSA and they said that they cannot due to there is no recall to report and they've never reported a recall. I have called Ford twice, NHTSA twice and gone to 2 dealers. No one at NHTSA has been willing to help get the information corrected. I have asked if someone can simply verify the information with FORD online OR if we can place a 3 way call with FORD-the response I'm getting is "NO" but I'm stuck in the middle of FORD and NHTSA and no one seems to even be willing to help me at either place. If I have paperwork from FORD insisting there has never been a recall and you can clearly pull the records online that there is no recall I need NHTSA to update their records. This is costing me $ as I purchased this vehicle to TURO and cannot do so until you update your records to match FORD showing that there is no recall.

While driving eastbound on a major parkway traveling at approx. 50mph in the middle lane, the steering completely failed on our 2023 Ford Bronco outer bank’s Sasquatch (the steering wheel was spinning freely and was not controlling the vehicle in any way). The truck was now uncontrollably moving from the middle lane into the left lane narrowly missing several other vehicles. The truck then continued uncontrollably moving left towards a large concrete center barrier, finally coming to a stop against the left shoulder cement barrier. I have included several still screen shots from the video I took of the steering wheel spinning freely without any movement in the front tire. I would gladly share this video if possible.

POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:BANJO HOUSING
The Axle Tubes are held to the center differential with 3 x Plug Welds per side. The plug welds on our axle are weeping oil and do NOT appear to be properly welded. Upon online comparisons this is a known issue and is resulting in catastrophic failures. Ford claims that "weeps" are NOT covered under warranty. A weep in this location/situation means that the welding process was sub-standard and compromised.

My 2023 Ford Bronco has "Advanced" rain-sensing wipers that automatically stop wiping when they think the windshield is dry or think the wiper motor may be damaged. When driving in heavy rain with the wipers on High (or even Low), they automatically switch to Intermittent after about 1 minute. They actually stop wiping at a high speed and pause between wipes for several seconds. In order to keep the wipers going in heavy, blinding rain you have to keep switching the wipers from Low to High to keep them moving. This is a safety hazard since you honestly cannot see though the windshield during heavy rain. I have spoken to many Bronco owners and seen threads on online message boards that everyone has the same issue. After reading the Manual it appears this is a "feature" of the new Ford Bronco. This is a major safety issue and Ford should be required to fix the wiper motor on these vehicles.
