While driving power would shut off, everything shuts down for 2 seconds, and then goes back on. Does this sometimes 10 times within 15 minutes of driving. Then twice already after buying new battery (I thought it needed one because it would not even crank, had all lights, etc. But wouldn't start) it would not start till after 8 attempts, would start right up and drive with no issues. I searched online with people having same exact issues. I called Dodge and they said my van did not have a recall. I don't understand why if my van is having same issues.

As is common with Dodge Caravans, this 2017 model has had a door lock actuator fail and the sliding door is inoperable and will not open - it is stuck closed. This prevents safe exit of the vehicle in the event of an accident or fire or other emergency endangering the lives of the passengers.

The sliding door actuator lock gets stuck in the locked position. Making it unsafe for me and my kids to get out in an emergency. Same with the back trunk. It was stuck for months then just started working again.

Took our 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan in for a regular oil change. The next day the check engine light came on. After a diagnostic, KB Auto showed that 2 cylinders were misfiring. They mentioned that they had recently serviced many Dodge/Chryslers with the same issue. Further research shows that several complaints have been made. We were told that we could continue to drive the van. If the check engine light came on and continued to blink, the engine would likely shut off and we would have to be towed. We purchased the van in June 2019 with 18000 miles. We have only had it 3 years and a major engine repair is needed. The repaid cost is estimated to be $2700. We only owe $9,000. This is absolutely ridiculous. The engines need to be recalled.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle was making an abnormal whining sound underneath the floorboard. The contact stated that the RPM’s increased and the front tires locked up. The contact lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle skidded across the road into oncoming traffic. The vehicle came to a stop on the left side of the roadway. The contact stated that the check engine warning was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the transmission pump had failed, which caused the transmission to seize. The mechanic related the transmission pump failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The trim located on the driver’s side door (next to the window, on the side of the window closest to the rear of the vehicle) came off while we were driving 70 mph down a highway. It hit near the window of the passenger door (on the driver’s side, where a child was seated), causing damage to our vehicle, and then continued to fly, thankfully not hitting any vehicles behind us. I report it because we have family who also have this same type of van and the exact same trim came off of the exact same spot. And I have seen multiple, multiple of the same type of vans since with the same exact missing trim. This is a safety risk to everyone else on the road, and it was a safety risk for my own family when it came off and barely missed a window.

Driver-side sliding passenger door lock gets stuck in locked position. Will not unlock with key fob or buttons inside the car. You have to manually push the lock with great force to get it to disengage. This is a serious hazard because it effectively traps people in the backseat because you cannot manually disengage the lock. This is apparently a known issue by the manufacturer, and it costs between $1100 and $1500 to fix. No warning lights or indicators signaled this problem prior to failure. First failure of this kind started 1/23/23
