The contact owned a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that occasionally, while driving at various speeds, upon depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would surge forward 3 to 4 feet before proceeding to slow down or come to a complete stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the failure was not duplicatable and nothing was found to be wrong with the vehicle. The local dealer proceeded to replace the spark plugs, the brake fluid, field spark plug weld, and gasket cylinder head cover, however the contact stated that after the repair the failure increasingly persisted leading them to be involved in a crash where the contact stated that while driving on a highway at 55 MPH, there were two vehicles stopped ahead, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle proceeded to surge forward and crash into the vehicle Infront of them with the entire front end of their vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle in front of the contact to crash into the rear end of the vehicle in front. That vehicle sustained damage to the entire rear and front end of the vehicle as the impact caused that vehicle to crash into the rear end of the vehicle in front of it. No property damage was reported. The vehicles came to a stop upon rebound after the impact. The air bags were deployed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body center, and no warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact was injured while seated in the driver's seat; the passenger in their vehicle was not injured. An individual in the vehicle in front of the contact was injured. The contact sustained injuries to their ribs and sternum. Medical treatment was needed for the injuries, and the other individual also required medical treatment for unknown injuries. The individual at the front of the line in this collision was not injured. The local dealer was contacted however, the vehicle was not diagnosed as it was decla

My 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid periodically has a sudden shutdown warning identical to vehicles in recall 23V-010 (157), where the engine simply shuts down and a message shows to park safely (it happened to me a bunch of times on a highway and I was lucky enough to have room on the road shoulder. My VIN isn’t listed in the recall 157 that seems to take care of this issue, but the symptoms match exactly. I need this investigated for safety and repaired under warranty or recall.

Since week 1 of owning my brand new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, I have had issues of loss of motive power. I have done all of the recall remedies yet my car with a 35day old 12v battery not only died on me, but drained every battery in my vehicle so that I couldnt open my doors. The vehicle was unable to be jumped so that it could be driven, so I ended up paying o or $1000 in towing to get the vehicle to my dealership to be diagnosed,AGAIN. That happened on July 12th, I finally had it towed on July 14th to my dealership & it has been there since. Although the PIM & BATTERY are under WARRANTY, Chrysler is refusing to reimburse me any of the tow fees & only 20 days of a rental I have now had for a month. The dealership installed the PIM which cleared a couple of codes, but not all. They installed ANOTHER new 12v battery, which was immediately drained. They have ordered another coolant something or other for the battery & here we are. I attempted in 2022 to retain a lemon law lawyer but he gave up very easily once Chrysler just stopped answering him.he said because I had my car updated under the class action lawsuit Moran is Chrysler FCA et Al, I was not able to continue under Lemon Law. I have not been able to find a lawyer, even one from the Class Action Lawsuit, to assist me in fighting Chrysler to do something to make me whole. My vehicle needs to be inspected in less than 40 days but at this point my 5 yr old vehicle can NOT pass the Pa inspection, so what am I supposed to do? I live in the mountains, have an 8 yrold grandchild that im raising & certainly cant afford to rent cars forever. I still haven't gotten my pension from the Coty of Philadelphia after 3 years of retiring after getting hurt on the job. I just read an article about the Office of Drfective products investigating Chrysler in 2022 for EXACTLY the problems I continue to have!!

When i put van in park ,shut off,it moves a little even on flat surface. When i back up in grass or out of a sloped driveway the van acts like something is preventing it from going backwards. The van, when going from the right lane to the left will act like it pulls to the right, hard to explain. Also when going down a road with slight bumps it makes a noise like something is loose,a rattle like.

The vehicle has been at the dealership multiple times for transmission issues, and the most recent time slammed into park while driving slowly on a side road. It is a known hybrid transmission issue and the dealership just let me know that the manufacturer will not replace the transmission, only rebuild per TSB 21-025-25. I am concerned based on research of others with this issue that the rebuild will not fix the issue and the transmission will shift to park on the highway with my wife driving.

When driving our van from Nashville to Memphis, we were 2 hours from home when we received an on screen alert stating “Stop Safely - vehicle will shut off soon”. This was in a construction area with little to no shoulders to pull the vehicle over as power loss began to occur. We contacted Chrysler for help but the nearest dealership told us the earliest they could see the vehicle was 3 weeks from Tuesday. I had 3 children in the car ages [XXX}. A web search for this shows how prevalent this issue is with several blogs and Reddit forums indicating a problem. The NHTSA even has an open investigation into this specific issue. Apparently the only fix is a full transmission replacement, but we have no assurance from Chrysler that will happen and now our van is left 3 hours away in Memphis as we had no choice but to leave there. The passenger sliding door on my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is stuck half way open and will not move. The vehicle was parked and we opened the automatic door and it opened fine. I pushed the close button and it closed half way and stopped. The cables that connect the door to the open/close motor are hanging out. I called the Chrysler dealership and they tried to schedule me an appointment next week. I asked how to get it to the dealership and they said to drive it in. I said the door is stuck half way open and its not safe. They said to either drive it in or tow it in. I asked if there was a recall or an extended warranty. They said there was not and that I would have to pay for all repairs out of pocket. The motor actuates but since the cables don't move it faults out. I have pushed and pulled as hard as I can and the cables will not move. This puts all passengers in danger as the door is part of the structural integrity especially in a side impact collision.

My wife was driving our 2022 Chrylser Pacifica when it died in the middle of an intersection in downtown Austin. She was in the turning lane waiting for the light to change when the auto stop/start feature activated. As the light turned green and she went to proceed, the car started up and then cut back off while simultaneously placing itself in park and all of the lights on the dash began blinking and messages stating "service shifter", "service parking brake", "service brakes" etc started popping up on the dash. She tried to restart the car and nothing happened and the emergency flashers would only work intermittently before shutting off and randomly coming back on for a few seconds minutes later. Eventually a police officer pulled up behind her to block traffic while she and they tried to get the car started. When I arrived, I was able to jump the car and get it out of the road and to a nearby parts store to check the batteries. Oreillys and Advanced Auto confirmed that the alternator, batteries and starter were good based on their diagnostic scanners. She was able to drive it to San Antonio and back the next day with no issues, but that night, when we went to dinner and stopped for gas, it did it again while in the fuel line although I was able to restart the car this time but now displays "Stop/Start Unavailable, Service Stop/Start". After the second event, went back to Oreillys and had it scanned, there were no primary diagnostic trouble codes, but 8 stored additional ABS trouble codes relating to low voltage, and electronic failures across multiple systems. This all came after having the oil changed and a safety inspection performed on 23 July in which everything passed, but they recommended a coolant and brake fluid flush. Concerned about this happening in congestion on a highway or somewhere with limited options for recovery.

While traveling on an interstate highway at highway speed (65-70 mph), a red turtle warning light came on with the message "Pull over Safely; vehicle will shut off soon." Almost immediately, we lost all power and glided into the right-hand shoulder. We narrowly missed being rear-ended. We got it to a local dealer, where the service department informed us we need a new transmission. The car has less than 13,000 miles on it.

Driving on the highway, all of a sudden, my car dashboard shows a message that " Vehicle will shut off soon" and the accelerator does not work. It was horrifying; there is no median to pull the vehicle out.

My vehicle suddenly experienced a loss of power while driving, starting at 62000 miles per hour. Sometimes the same problem occurs again after driving for several hundred miles per hour, and sometimes even after driving for tens of miles per hour. When this problem occurs, the vehicle cannot continue to drive and can only rely on inertia to slide. It must be parked on the side of the road, the engine must be turned off for one minute, and the vehicle can start again to drive normally. My car has now driven at 89000 miles per hour, and this problem has occurred countless times. At first, it occurred about once every 2-3 days, but now it occurs twice a day.

9-SPEED TRANSMISSION:ZF9 HP-9, considered an "improved" transmission as compared to the previous 6-speed versions, prior to 2017. According to more than one FCA class action lawsuit, Fiat Chrysler knew the transmission had problems that could make FCA vehicles unsafe to drive. Problems: Lurching away from a stop, either when shifting into Drive or Reverse, then often accelerating into traffic, or into a crowded parking lot, or in an after-school setting, with children around. Rough shifting into Reverse or Drive from Park. Delayed shifting into Reverse or Drive, from Park. Intermittent "sounds" such as clunking or low-level grinding when attempting to shift from one gear to another. Refusal to downshift once a speed of 35-45 mph is reached, creating "gear-hunting", during which time the vehicle begins to accelerate, then decelerate, then accelerate again, often forcing abrupt, potentially-dangerous braking. Refusal to downshift allows the vehicle to continue unabated in gears 2-3, then 3-4. Intermittent refusal to upshift or downshift when engaging gears 6-9. At speeds between 50-70 mph, the vehicle will independently begin to slowly downshift, for no apparent reason, requiring a soft braking action, first, then sometimes followed by pulling over, coming to a complete stop, waiting then resuming. then getting back to speed. On one occasion, the transmission "slipped" into neutral at approximately 70 mph, causing the driver to pull off onto a major interstate's shoulder, shutting the engine off, then allowing the transmission to "cool" for several minutes, before starting the vehicle and continuing. This can be very dangerous if the transmission completely fails at 2 AM in the morning in a somewhat "dicey" area, anywhere, on any highway. All of the above complaints and transmission dysfunction/defects are sudden/acute and intermittent creating a sense of unnecessary anxiety and frustration when driving. As aresult, the owner has begun not allowing other drivers

[XXX] First “Red Turtle” Breakdown on Freeway After about an hour of freeway driving, car went into “red turtle mode” (“limp mode”) on the freeway, alerting us that the engine would shut down shortly and that we needed to get to a safe place to stop. The car wouldn’t accelerate fully, putting us in danger on the freeway, where cars were speeding all around us. June 2025: Dealership’s First Attempt to Fix The dealership showed stored error codes P0A43 Drive Mode Code A Position Sensor Intermittent. But, the tech said they were unable to replicate the error. They kept it in the shop for a couple days, then sent the car home with us with no fix. They told us to restart the car a few times and it should go away. [XXX]: Second Breakdown on Freeway On [XXX], with all three kids in the car, we drove the car from Sacramento to San Rafael. On the way there–the first long car trip with the van since the [XXX] incident, the Red Turtle Alert appeared again. We were going uphill and unable to fully accelerate on the freeway, again putting our entire family in danger. We were luckily able to pull off of the freeway, restart the car several times, and continue driving–wondering the entire time whether the vehicle would again lose power, and sure enough it did. [XXX]: Third breakdown on freeway Later that same day, on our way home, the Red Turtle alert appeared again, the vehicle was unable to fully accelerate, and the message warned us that the car was about to shut itself down. This time, we were on the freeway with no exit available to us. We had to pull over onto an unprotected shoulder, with cars speeding by us on both sides. It would have been unsafe for any of us–but especially my toddlers–to exit the vehicle. We sat on the side of the freeway, restarting the car repeatedly, waiting to see if the Alert would clear and the vehicle would become drivable again. Eventually, it did. We brought the car to the dealership again. Spent over a week there INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

Had recall 66B software update done for rear view camera not working, did not fix the issue. Backup camera still not working. Need to know what next steps are to get it fixed. Chrysler is saying I have to pay for diagnostics. Can you please help me with this issue. First recall notice was September 2024 but there was no fix at that time.

We were driving on the interstate at 70mph and suddenly the dash displayed a "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and slowed the vehicle suddenly. The check engine light also lit up. There were no indications prior to this that anything was wrong. Dramatic slowing like this is dangerous at highway speeds. We were in the left middle lane and couldn't get to the right because of oncoming traffic, so we went to the far left lane and pulled on a narrow shoulder the left, with four lanes of traffic to our right. It was not a safe situation, and I felt in immediate danger of being hit by oncoming traffic. We tried shutting the vehicle off and powering it back up but the message was still there and the car would only proceed slowly. Feeling like we were in immediate danger, we drove it on the shoulder with hazards on to get it to the next exit so we could pull off. It would not let us get enough speed to safely exit the interstate. We had to cross 4 lanes of 70+mph traffic at a slow pace with the hazards on. Once off the highway, we pulled into the nearest parking lot and tried to find answers. It was Sunday so dealers were closed. After about a half hour the car re-started without the warning on the display. We drove it home on back roads rather than the interstate and took it to a Chrysler dealership the next day, July 7, where they couldn't identify anything wrong with it, and there were no active check engine codes. Reddit and message boards are full of similar situations for Chrysler Pacificas and advised reporting the issue here. I resumed driving it after the dealer and it happened again yesterday (July 14). This time I was close to my home so I drove the vehicle directly there. I'm not using it now and I'm trying to get it in to the dealer again. I checked it this morning before I left for work. It did not have the stop warning but it did have a check engine light on. I don't feel safe driving my children in this vehicle.
