ENGINE
My vehicles check engine light came on at 80,000 miles with a reduced engine power alert. If I'm on the highway I'm unable to accelerate quickly if I needed to. We had the vehicle checked out and it was the Turbocharger that was bad. I had taken it to a Chevrolet dealership and they said other Chevy vehicles have already had a recall on some models for the exact same reason. I believe this is a serious problem with the Trailblazers as well for what I have found online. Please put a recall on this. It's very expensive repair for most people's financial situation.

when parking vehicle, warning comes on to place vehicle in park although it already is. Engine will shut off, but dash will not and it continuously dings. This causes the battery to die. This happens every time I drive my trailblazer and the dealership states there is no quick fix but to continue trying to put it in park repeatedly until alert goes away. Through research GM and Chevy vehicles have had this same issue for many years with no recall. I demand a recall as this is a safety issue after being stranded due to battery dying if alert is unable to be cleared with workarounds.

Shift to Park comes on after vehicle is shifted into park and the vehicle is turned off. You have to hit the gear shift or jiggle it to register it is in park or start the vehicle and shift to neutral and back to park and turn it off a few times to get it to register it is in park.

POWER TRAIN
Turbo failure resulted in loss of engine power. I was driving down the road and the engine light came on and I got a notification that the engine was in reduced power mode. The vehicle became very sluggish and lost speed. While I was fortunate that I was not on a busy road, had the incident happened on the highway it could have been dangerous given my loss of speed. What's of greater concern, this appears to be a common problem on the Trailblazer message boards. The dealer confirmed it was the turbo and stated that the part was on back order. This indicates the problem is occurring very frequently. The vehicle only has 33k miles on it.

Coolant control valve causes car to overheat leaving car and passengers stranded on the side of the road. This is dangerous as it increases the risk accidents. The part is on back order since most of the vehicles with the original part are defective. Something needs to be done to correct this problem!

SERVICE BRAKES
I recently bought a new Trailblazer 2023 last year. I have had problems with a squeaking noise when I apply the brakes. The problems have gotten considerably worse. I have taken it to the dealership and they claim there are no problems. I made an appointment to take it to the dealership again because the squeaking while applying the brakes sounds terrible. I was instructed that there was nothing that could be done until Trailblazer did a recall on the type of brake pads installed in Trailblazers. I was also told that there have been numerous complaints about the same problem I am experiencing. I LOVE my trailblazer and just want the problem corrected.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated after parking the vehicle and pressing the Push to Start button to turn off the vehicle, an alarm sounded and the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. The contact shifted out of park(P) and slammed the gear shifter into park(P). The contact was then able to park and to turn off the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently while parking on a level surface. The contact stated that on several occasions the failure required turning off and restarting the vehicle to successfully park the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred while attempting to park on an incline. The contact stated that the vehicle was unable to be parked on an incline after several attempts. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

POWER TRAIN
The Turbo is bad in the car at 90,000 miles. It is a common issue among these, lots of other people have the same issue with the “engine power is reduced” message popping up, per the 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer facebook group. There needs to be a recall so they can be fixed. It has happened on mine for the past few months and the dealer said the turbo is bad. The purge pump has already been replaced.

smudge on rear hatch above window, took to dlr they said maybe I did it. I was told to come back day after day and no record of these visits. When the fixed paint at their shop no paperwork. my radio screen scrambling, going blank, stop working, static sounds coming out, The ignition button wouldn’t turn off There was an update for the lane departure issue, the radio issue there is no current fix as per manufacturer the advisor informed me.[XXX] went dl show lt rear window, I had to N Cal. [XXX] at dlr [XXX] told me to bring 5th fix back window but the left rear window defect They told me they order that day! So my vehicle was at the dealership for approx 2 weeks [XXX] the day they called saying my car was ready to pickup I ask if the window was replaced yet etc. Ricky the advisor (nice guy) he tells me there’s nothing in the system about the window issue, he says he’ll tell his manager and call me back. He informs me the window was never ordered in nov and they just ordered Feb 22nd. I picked my vehicle up [XXX] and it’s still having radio system issues, starting or stopping issues. [XXX] window was replaced also tinted. The bubbles in the window tint Again yesterday the radio system wasn’t working properly, the speakers were static, display not operating, blackout, the lane departure has me all over the road! The push start doesn’t operate correctly (will not shut off, the other day the car continued to roll backwards after I put in park. Lunges when parking in garage The fact that I have been going in for various issues and there’s no records or notes in system showing this. I reviewed docs I have found the miles in/out were same so how could someone have test driven to duplicate my concerns? [XXX] I go in garage gas fumes filled the air, I thought it was pressure washer but I took it out and used fan to clear. We own a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer and we have experienced the “shift to park” issue more times than we can count. We receive the “shift to park” message on the dash screen after the car has been shifted to park and we attempt to turn the vehicle off. This problem has caused me to be late to my job on numerous occasions and late to an exam that determines my graduation at school. Many users report being able to just shift through the gears a couple times or wiggling the gear shift and it shuts off, but that is not always my case. I have, on a few occasions now, had to remove my gear shift knob and panel completely, locating the park switch and manually bending it to recognize that my car was in park. Doing this will typically subside the issue for about a week, but no longer than that. We have tried to have the dealership see the message when taking it in for other things, but it never seems to happen when they are watching. There were no other issues with this vehicle before this started happening. We purchased the vehicle in February with about 44,000 miles. This issue has instilled fear in me every time I go to shut my vehicle off never knowing if it will actually shut off or not. Dramatic or not, it has caused unwanted anxiety and too many mental breakdowns that were not needed. This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP!

The contact stated that smoke was coming from under the hood. Additionally, there was smoke coming through the interior vents. The vehicle was turned off however, the fan continued running. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
