Driving in traffic on two lane, busy state highway at 55MPH the engine stalled without warning. I started pulling over to the shoulder of the road while trying to process what happened. To restart the engine required me to place the automatic transmission in neutral and press the keyless stop/start button. Someone driving the vehicle besides myself may panic and place the gear selector in the wrong position thereby causing an accident at highway speeds. Had this happened in a busy intersection it may caused a collision. Luckily the engine restarted and was able to proceed without incident.

Driving on busy state highway at 55MPH the engine began loosing power and making loud squealing and metallic knocking noises. Fortunately there was a gas station 1/4 mile away and I was able to coast with the engine running and safely exit traffic. This engine is a newly remanufactured unit with only 7000 miles on it replaced under warranty. The previous engine completely seized in a similar traffic situation. It has now been towed to a dealer and diagnosed as crankshaft or bearing failure. There was no warnings or indications of impending engine failure. A less experienced driver may have continued on driving unaware the engine is about to seize completely leaving the vehicle without power steering and brakes which may result in loss of control and panic.

"N192265660 - Customer Satisfaction Program Rear Window Defroster Thermal Events - US Only" Rear Window shattered after having the symptoms described in Customer Satisfaction Program N192265660. Rear defroster would smoke/smell hot when activated. The symptoms were brought to the attention of the Dealership prior to window breaking, but nothing was done due to the VIN not being part of the listing. Now I have no rear window and parts are on backorder with no ETA. Not to mention this will be out of pocket costs that could have been prevented. This Glass shattered all over my [XXX] old daughter. This has also been known to cause fires according to the bulletin. This should be a recall. If it already is a recall my VIN is certainly affected by this problem but is not listed. My VIN should be listed along with several others. This is a relatively common problem. Dealer refuses to work with me on a cost effective solution. No warnings other than the described symptoms that were brought to the dealer as previously stated. Approximate time frame was Dec 2022. Dealer did nothing due to my VIN not being listed as part of this program. Truck was parked in the garage when the window shattered. My truck was put in the shop for loss of power. after 28 days the dealer had diagnosed and repaired the truck. They had to replace all of the valve train lifters along with 1 broken push rod. I was driving home at about 35 - 40 mph when my truck began to shutter and the steering felt like I was going over a washboard road. I was only less than a mile from my home when this started and was able to limp home and had the truck towed to the dealership. After I receive my truck back I opened a claim with GM. Claim # 9-14306272503 on 12/20/2024. I have not received any feedback from GM or the Dealer.

On [XXX] I was traveling was in [XXX] and I got an alert that said engine oil too hot and the truck started to lose power and pulled over and had to be towed to my dealership. I found out a couple days that the engine was seized. The dealership was able to get a crate motor and replace a couple weeks later. With all the buzz I am nervous all Chevy did was put another potential bad engine in the truck. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Started my truck and the check engine light was flashing along with a few other warming lamp lit up. When I went to drive the truck the engine started to make some noise, and didn't have much power. After being diagnosed by the dealer ship the motor needed new valves, lifters and camshaft. The bill for the repairs is going to be around $8,500 and GM is not willing to help with the costs.

- #11637432January 21, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
Upon entering a roadway from a parking lot I noticed my vehicle struggling to gain speed. I lifted my foot from the gas pedal and the truck rapidly reduced speed, dropping from 25 mph to less than 5mph in a couple of seconds. I then reapplied the gas pedal to attemp to avoid the vehicle approaching from the rear. The truck struggled again to gain speed. I went about 150 yards toward an intersection. I applied the brake and pushed it to the floor as the truck barely slowed to a stop. Had there been any vehicle stopped in front of me I would have hit it and pushed it into the intersection. The dashboard lit up with warning lights and rotating messages such as, Brake system failure 62 mph top speed, Service trailer break.when the traffic light turned green I drove it across the intersection into a parking lot, going about 5 mph for 50 yards. Putting my foot back on the brake as hard as I could. It finally came to a stop about twenty feet farther than it should have. I had it towed to a Chevrolet dealership. They did a diagnostic test and checked all braking components. They found a service bulletin for recalibration of brake system control module. They preformed the calibration and cleared the codes. After reading the many reports of this happening on the NHTSA site and the absolute possibility of injuries and deaths, I find it hard to believe that with knowing this problem exists and it’s disastrous potential, that there has not been a recall after 5 years of complaints.

Right now I don't have a problem with my 6.2 motor but I have a TSB on valve lifter repair it states that any unsold vehicle on the lot or in transit before it is sold the lifters must be replaced but it doesn't say anything about the ones that were sold to be fixed the # of the TSB from GM is N212353840 if you would like to see it thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This is regarding 24V797. A software update to "monitor" for transmission valve failure is not a resolution to a problem that could pose a sever risk to my safety on a very expensive truck.

Motor seized while driving on freeway at 65 Mph. Coasted to the media on the freeway in the middle of a dividing highway. The highway patrol stopped and then left feeling unsafe. Dealer would not tear down without a $3000 release from me for labor, if not covered under warranty. This is now a federal investigation with this motor and over 86k complaints. I would also like to add, this happened to a new truck my son bought in 2021 Silverado trail boss so GM new about these motors and are still selling them!!!

Let sit for another 30 minutes. Truck started with no lights on. Drove to dealer. They said it was a battery issue. One week later driving and check engine came back on. Drove straight to dealer. They said cam shaft and needs new engine. That was on Dec 17th. Still waiting for engine that they have no idea when I will recieve. This is a 2024 GMC 1500 Denali Reserve with 6.2 liter and has 8801 miles

I purchased a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4wd in May 2024 from a Chevrolet Dealer in East Tennessee, after having the truck for 5 months, it started experiencing a transmission "shutter / vibration" at higher speeds, it has also experienced a transmission "hard downshift" at times... a month later at only 4914 miles, it was dropped off at the chevrolet dealership here in my home state of Alabama for its first oil change and for them to check what is going on with the transmission, after the truck being there for 3 weeks, we were told that the transmission needed to come out for repairs, we advised the dealership and several GM representatives that we wanted a brand new transmission put in the truck that is brand new to start with, GM has refused and stated that they were going just rebuild the transmission.... we told them "No" and that we had bought a brand new truck, therefore it should have a new transmission, not a rebuilt one in a brand new truck with less than 5000 miles on it.... the truck has been out of our possession starting into its 3rd month being gone for repairs, not only is this a huge inconvenience for us, but its also a huge safety issue because we do occasionally pull trailers with this truck... General Motors has flat refused any help to our satisfaction with this transmission issue and has just pretty just blown us off and told us "No" when we have approached them with any kind of remedies for this situation, its pretty bad when a company that has taken a government bailout a few years ago, hasnt learned anything from their past mistakes and now think theyre untouchable.... it also pretty bad when you spend in excess of $60,000 for a pickup truck that you dont even have in your possession because of defective manufacturing.... yes, it is a safety issue even more because my family is sometimes using this truck and may not always react the same way that I would if something happened going down the road.... it needs a recall on these trucks

I am sending this report in regards to investigation PE25001. I own a 2024 Silverado 6.2L, purchased on 8/30/24. On 12/27/24, I noticed a odd noise coming from the exhaust and took the truck to the dealership. After a week of trouble shooting, the dealership with the help of technicians from Chevrolet, discovered the crankshaft play was 3 times out of limits causing the exhaust to rattle and determined that engine would have to be replaced.

The seat beat has been un-latching while driving. It is random when it occurs. No warnings come before this happens. Does not always need to be that I move for it to unlatch. I have been sitting still while driving and it has come undone. The seat belt has been cleaned out. No signs of defect or other damage. Available to be inspected..should be repaired free of charge as this is a life threatening issue.

Engine failure. I was traveling back from vacation towing my trailer when without warning the engine seized up. No engine lights or high temperature until that moment. Fortunately we were traveling with another couple behind. Traveling at highway speed we pulled over on the shoulder. Friends pulled us off of the highway to a safe location to be towed when possible. Very concerning having to deal with that situation with family and friends on the highway!
