The contact was able to coast the vehicle off the road and restart the vehicle however, the vehicle stalled again. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
I purchased this vehicle in November 2022, with the understanding that it was not equipped with lane change alert with side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert, but the car would be retrofitted as soon as parts were available and that should be in a short time frame. To date I have not heard from GM or Koons of White Marsh on this retrofit, so I started asking questions. I also visited the sales lot at our dealership Koons of White Marsh and found that these safety features are installed on all 2023 Equinox models - so clearly the parts are available. Koons of White Marsh is saying now that they do not know when or if these safety features will be installed. I wrote a letter to GM's CEO and received two calls from the Executive Support team. First call - we would have part by Q1 2023; 2nd call said they do not know when or if we will receive the part. This missing part is putting my safety at risk as well as others driving around me as I do not have full alerts to the traffic around me.

Fuel Pump Power Control Module failed. My daughter was driving down Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti Michigan when the vehicle stalled and would not start. This is a VERY busy four lane road. The police showed up and helped push her out of the way. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by the dealer. The dealer replaced the part but how do I know that the part is not faulty as well as it appears that there is a potential recall for this vehicle that hasn't been confirmed yet since parts are limited. No warning before the issue happened.

SERVICE BRAKES, STEERING
I lease a 2022 Equinox. February 15, 2023 I was driving from the store and began to pull in my driveway. I live on a dirt, dead end road. I turned the steering wheel and there was no reaction. The car kept going straight. I put on the brakes and the car didn't stop or slow down. I was stopped when I hit my own lamp post and a large rock at the end of my driveway. There was no warning that anything was out of the ordinary. Just no response to the steering wheel and nothing when I applied the brake. There wasn't anything different in the brakes or steering wheel, they felt normal. No pulling, nor sign that the power steering went out. There was just no response to either. Putting the car in park I got out of the car to assess the damage. Some broken trim was the only damage. Put the car in reverse and it worked and I drove up the driveway and parked. Going back to the place of the accident to clean up the mess. The road was dry and conditions were good. No inclement weather. I reported to the McDonald Chevrolet and they towed the car in. The problem could not be recreated and there were no codes. I had no choice but to pick up the car. I wrote on their receipt and mine that I do not feel this car is safe to drive. The mechanics did their best. I called GM support in hopes that they would help and spoke to Maureen. She continually told me that if there was no code showing and it couldn't be recreated there wasn't anything wrong with the car. There could not be a problem. I have 2 more years to drive this car. I refuse to put my grandchildren or my mother in this car because even though it might not happen again, it might. Every time I get ready to make a turn I'm looking ahead to see what I will run into if I lose steering and brakes again. Or I wonder who else will be hurt if these systems fail.

The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle failed to turn off or start up while depressing the START/STOP button. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a loss of communication codes; however, the dealer was not certain of how to repair the vehicle. On 2/18/23 our equinox failed to go into park. We couldn’t shut the car off, nor start it back up. Everything electrical was on basically idle mode. ESC - brake control module came across the dash. The dash also kept saying to put the car in park. It wouldn’t go into park. We called for a tow truck to have it taken back to the dealership. When it was taken to the dealership the car was ON. It still wouldn’t shut off. As of 2/21/23 they want $550 for a diagnostics and a dead battery. Of course my battery would die after 2 days of sitting and being on. This is a major safety issue with GM and chevy vehicles. We have 48,653 miles so we’re out of warranty. The dealership didn’t bother to call and ask what happened nor want to listen to what occurred.

Chevy Equinox turned off while in the turn lane. Car would not turn back on. No warning was shown prior to the incident but now there is a solid check engine light. upon googling it seems other chevy's have a fuel pump flow issue causing cars to stall and not turn on. chevy upon inquiring if our equinox has a recall they said no even though other 2021 equinox's have this issue. i believe this is a safety issue, if it is a fuel pump issue how do we know it can't cause the engines to catch fire from improper fueling. this needs to be looked into.

I've had to replace the brake booster sensor & the part by the vacuum to brake booster this is second time I'm have to replace it . So dangerous to be driving a vehicle on highway and you loose your brakes makes pedal hard . I also have to replace exhaust crankshaft position sensor, oil pressure sensor, engine underfoot won't stay running when it's idle oil pressure control silinoid valve , barometric pressure sensor

I went to the gas station to fill the car with gas. I pulled along the pumps and put on the brakes but they failed and I applied again failed again so I put into netural and ran into a pole. I called GM and they checked the brakes could not find any problem. I ask if they checked the computer but they didn't know. the Equinox only had 170 miles on it. That is my problem.

The auto stop start system in my Chevrolet Equinox shuts the engine off at every stop when the ambient temperature is about 60 degrees F or below .when i lift my foot off the brake it cranks up . With a thump . My concern is the half second delay before I can move . The person behind me sees my brake light go out and starts forward. This is the way the system was designerd to operate . The Chevrolet Division of General Motors chose not to install an auto stop start disable pushbutton in my 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Premier . I have no way to disable auto stop start if traffic conditions are such that I consider the engine shutting off at stops is dangerous to me . I have contacted Chevrolet about providing me with a auto stop start disable switch (pushbutton ) . They didn't reply.
