problems with low beam headlights, which often resulted in dimness, fogging, or premature burnout due to faulty weather seals that allowed moisture into the headlight housings I’ve owned more than 5 cadillac srx different models from 2010-2016 and they all have this problem. I can’t see anything after changing the headlights low beam bulbs and the dealer told me to change the headlights assembly and it’s pretty pricey It’s an safety issue because I can’t see the roadway and I can’t turn my high beams on all the time due to will affect other drivers on the opposite side of road.

My car was parked and in the park gear it was left running I went to get in the car to turn it off to stay awhile where I was at I got one leg in the car and reached over to push the button to turn it off and it lurched backwards and rolled over me and almost cut my leg off it kept rolling another good 200 ft or more before it stopped and it was still in the park position I read where there's a recall on the transmission on this car but I was injured very badly in this incident I do not know what happened because the car was in park and should not have rolled when I turned it off but it did and rolled over me and knock me down and cut my legs severely

The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the ABS module warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that parts were no longer being manufactured to replace the part. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.

I have been trying to enjoy this vehicle from the time it became part of my life. The first 6 months, I was unable to close the sunroof, because of that my passenger seat cracked since its been exposed to the sun for 5 years, the driver's side window could not roll down which we fixed; I never owned a vehicle where I could not access my trunk. The first 6 months of having this vehicle the lifgate became inoperable. the lift gate does not work. The sensors of the vehicle are useless, the car radioi does not work the cue sticks, which can be distracting and can cause an accident so I use the YouTube on my phone for entertainment. The sensors led to the transmission deteriorating to the point of the transmission fluid burning faster and deteriorating the components of the transmission. This is going to cost me 6000.00 These are known manufacture defects for the SRX 2014. Please help

Please find attached requested documentation of "Ourisman" brand GM auto repair facilities "Chevrolet of Bowie" and "Chevrolet of Marlow Heights". These new, used, and certified pre-owned car dealerships are providing lock-smithing, auto repair services, advertising check engine light services for GM models unidentified or unavailable by JD Power and the N.A.D.A (National Automobile Dealers Association) for trade-in pricing. This results in: 1) Refurbished, aftermarket automobile repair parts resold by AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, and Rock Auto of suspect year compatibility and road worthiness. 2) Failing MDOT safety protocols required for state inspection and VEIP compliance, out-of-state registrars can purchase vehicles in VA with GI-Bill accessibility or other states with industry related, company affiliations which are either unsafe or able to be resold in ancillary used car markets. The concerned two vehicles 2012 Chevy Malibu LT (title to myself) and 2015 Cadillac SRX (sold by Cadillac of Greenbelt MD, now Honda of Greenbelt MD and upselling of new Cadillac marketed to Cadillac registrant Janice Thom-Collins by Jim Coleman's of Silver Spring MD) The lack of oversight and reduced scrutiny of 3rd-party dealerships and resellers creates an environment profitable to price gouging, tempting to criminal misrepresentation of mechanic services, and increased concern to NTSHA purview: [XXX] [XXX] p2 cites a merger of USAA with Nevada Credit Union. A 2012 Suzuki Kizashi was sold as well as 2012 Chevy Malibu from a VA dealership with electrical fire hazards uncorrected. Safety Defect Remedies on 2014 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing as the owner of a 2014 Cadillac SRX, VIN [XXX] , to address two critical safety defects that I believe are the manufacturer's responsibility to remedy. Water Intrusion and Electrical Failure: My vehicle has a known defect where water from the sunroof consistently leaks into the trunk. This water repeatedly causes electrical damage to the component located under the spare tire. I have personally replaced this component on three separate occasions, only to have it fail again after rain. This recurring failure disables my rear windshield wiper, a crucial safety feature. Driving with my child in the car while unable to clear the rear window is the most unsafe I have ever felt. Dangerously Dim Headlights: The front headlights are dangerously dim and do not provide adequate illumination for safe night driving. This is a well-documented issue with this model and poses a clear and present danger to my family and others. I have already spent my own money attempting to fix a problem that is a design flaw. I have no desire to pay for any further remedies for these issues. As the manufacturer, General Motors is responsible for the safety of its vehicles. I have also filed a formal complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding these matters. I await your prompt response and a clear plan to resolve these critical safety issues at no cost to me. SERVICE BRAKES
The ABS control module in my car is inoperable. I have lights on for ABS, brakes, and stabiltrac. Upon further investigation the ABS module is no longer available and no aftermarket part available. This leaves my car useless being I no longer feel safe driving it. If I lock up brakes in an emergency, my car could go into an uncontrollable slide (being front wheel drive) especially on wet roads. This would hold true for all of this make and many year models therefore many unsafe vehicles on road without the ABS braking control. I am at a loss....

The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that there were web-like cracks that had developed inside the infotainment screen, causing difficulty in accessing various electrical functions needed to safely operate the vehicle. Due to the failure, the A/C unit, defroster, backup camera, and other functions were inaccessible on the screen. The contact stated that the repair was initially serviced under warranty; however, the failure returned, and the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The contact was recently provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the contact was provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Unsafe Headlight Design – 2016 Cadillac SRX To whom it may concern, We own a 2016 Cadillac SRX and are extremely concerned about the safety of the vehicle’s headlights. The low beams are so dim that we are unable to drive safely at night. When we resort to using the high beams, oncoming drivers frequently flash their lights at us, indicating that we are blinding them. Bottom line, car is unusable at night !!! A few years ago, I brought this issue to the attention of our local Cadillac service department. Unfortunately, I was told there was nothing they could do, despite acknowledging that the headlight design is a known problem. They quoted us over $1,600 for a repair, without offering any goodwill assistance or cost reduction — even though this is clearly a design flaw, not a wear-and-tear issue. This does not seem fair, especially considering our vehicle has only 71,749 miles on it — in todays standards, essentially like new for a luxury vehicle. We are disappointed that Cadillac has not taken responsibility for a safety issue that affects many drivers. We ask that Cadillac stand behind its product and work with us to resolve this issue in a reasonable and customer-friendly way. 2015 Cadillac SRX with 87,397 has a failed Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or ABS module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Alexander Cadillac of Oxnard refuses to repair it stating a replacement part is no longer available (it can be repaired by a specialty repair company). They cite liability by using after market or repaired parts. Without a functioning EBCM - ABS,power steering and traction control do not work which puts me and others at risk. Worse, the failed EBCM is now causing the car to go into "limp mode", which cuts power to the engine and prevent acceleration. When making a turn onto a street, it suddenly went into limp mode and I was almost hit by an approaching semi-truck. The problem was identified by Alexander of Oxnard service center - but they refuse to make any effort to remedy the problem. There are multiple blogs on the internet citing similar systemic issues with the EBCM that is no longer manufactured but can be repaired by a specialty shop. Lights on the dash first started to appear in September 2024. Lights include ABS, Brake and traction control / stability light. New lights started to appear in June 2025 including Check Engine, headlamp and auto-parking symbols. Alexander Cadillac of Oxnard cites that the EBCM is drawing too much current and causing issues to other systems on the car - a cascading effect. I am very afraid to drive the car and fear that it will lose power when needed, stall or the brakes will lock up.

My vehicle caught fire while driving it. There was no warning…no engine lights on, no smoking engine. The fire seemed to start behind the dashboard of the passenger side. Less than 5 minutes and the car was completely engulfed in flames. My insurance company said there was too much damage to tell me what caused the fire.

The CUE touchscreen display has cracked for the second time in seven years without any physical impact. This appears to be a widespread defect in Cadillac SRX models. The screen becomes unresponsive and is a major distraction while driving, impacting safety, navigation, climate control, and backup camera visibility. Cadillac previously replaced it under warranty, but it has failed again. GM has not issued a recall despite hundreds of similar reports.”

we have a 2016 SRX AWD Cadillac and we can not drive at night, the head light is way to dim, and when placing on high beam - blind oncoming cars "AI info: If you can’t see well at night and your 2016 Cadillac SRX has factory HID headlights, there's a chance that faded lenses, worn bulbs, or a defective ballast is the issue—and GM/Cadillac may or may not cover it"

Vehicle lurches from 0-20mph since purchase of vehicle from Greenbelt Caddillac. Vehicle only serviced there until no longer in business. Shifter linkage cable issue assumed. Parking brake disengages prior to switch depress. In automatic mode, when switched to manual, shifter does not highlight that it is engaged in shifter box. Dashboard shows change in transmission function. Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 code returned around 100-120k+ miles after 2 flat tires and suspension serviced by Caliber Collision. OnStar taking control of vehicle suspected of causing timing belt to skip timing supported by Chevrolet Ourisman of Bowie. Paid $800-1000 to Ourisman for service and diagnostic. Ourisman suggested engine needed to be opened to fully inspect or replaced for $6-8000. A piece of the sensor was claimed to have broken off and fallen into lower engine manifold. Vehicle would rev when stopped and putter to halt. Vehicle would start and stick in second gear up to 40mph until stopping and refusing to start. Engine replacement evaluation reconfirmed by Foreign Auto Parts of Annapolis, MD after explanation. Chevrolet of Silver Spring attempted to buy car for $100 after suspect inspection. Declined. 3 new sensors were changed manually though did not turn off the check engine light, still returning bank 1 camshaft sensor. Eventually vehicle towed to MZ Auto Repair 9500 Allentown Rd, Fort Washington. Engine swapped, battery changed and check engine light cleared. Vehicle ran for 2000-3000 miles until check engine light returned with same code Bank 1 Camshaft Position Sensor. Vehicle presumed tampered with during lifetime of use however original lurch during engagement of powertrain implicates feigned manufacturer defect or original Cadillac of Greenbelt.
