While driving in the rain, after an hour long drive home from Philadelphia back to Reading, taking [XXX] and [XXX], I accelerated my vehicle while going around 50 mph and immediately was faced with a blinking check engine light and lost the ability to accelerate. My Acura essentially went into, what others call, limp mode while in sport mode. I filled my car with 93 gas around 20 minutes before this. After losing acceleration, I pulled over on the highway and the check engine light disappeared. After which, I still was unable to accelerate after leaving the car in park. After I turned the car off and turned the car back on maybe 30 seconds later, I was then able to accelerate and found no issues afterwards. The torque converter is defective in my 2018 Acura RDX. I have received flashing warning lights on my dashboard in Red " Check Transmission." This warning light is due to Acura's defective torque converter. The torque converter affects the shifting of power during driving and cause hesitance or shuddering when attempting to accelerate.which causes my vehicle to sometimes to have a decrease in power . This affects my safety while driving my 2018 Acura RDX. Acura is aware of this defect and safety risk. Acura Client Relations informed me that Acura was mandated by the government to provide a Warranty Extension for the 2017-2018 Torque Converter. I received one of these notices and took my car for the repair. I left my car with the dealership for 6 days. The dealership decided that they will not repair my car because they have determined my car has a "branded title." I purchased my vehicle used from an Auto Body Shop. My vehicle was declared to be salvaged. My engine/transmission/torque converter is the original on my Acura RDX. and was never damaged or repaired. My RDX torque defect should be a safety recall because it affects my safety.

While at work the rear windshield exploded. I had the workplace look at their camera's. They said that it looked normal, no one drove next to my car and it was by itself.

Complaint Summary I am filing this complaint regarding American Honda Motor Corp’s handling of a warranty claim on my 2021 Acura RDX. Despite being within the 4-year/50,000-mile warranty, I was denied full coverage for a well-documented defect: condensation/moisture in both headlight housings with no external damage. •Dealer (Rick Case Acura, Sunrise FL) confirmed the condition. •Technician Francisco documented internal moisture, no external damage. •Service Manager Wade Bell submitted goodwill request [XXX], which was approved at 70% only. •My out-of-pocket responsibility was ~$1,400. •I requested full coverage from American Honda, consistent with Acura’s warranty obligations and known issues with these headlight assemblies. On a recorded call, American Honda repeatedly stated my request was denied, refused to provide a written denial, and declined to issue a case reference number directly. Only after reviewing an email did I locate the case number ([XXX]). This refusal to document their denial is highly concerning. ________________________________________ Timeline of Events •[XXX]: Moisture first observed after rain; confirmed by dealer technician. •Dealer Request: Goodwill [XXX] approved at 70%. •Repairs Completed: Both headlights replaced; repair order available. •Sep 2025: American Honda denied my appeal verbally on recorded call; refused written denial. ________________________________________ Manufacturer Guidance Ignored Importantly: American Honda’s own dealer service bulletin (2023) regarding 2019–2021 Acura RDX headlamps explicitly instructs dealers to: •“Create an iN case number (via AcuraLink/Dealer iN) when moisture or condensation is observed inside RDX headlamp housings with no external damage present.” •“Submit for goodwill/warranty replacement of the affected headlamp assemblies.” This vehicle falls squarely within that guidance: a 2021 RDX, <4 years old, <50k miles, with moisture documented by the dealer. Despite this, A INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5

I was parked in a parking lot and went to put groceries in the back cargo area. I pushed the button to open my rear hatch, heard a plink sound as it was raising, looked and my entire rear windshield had shattered. This is a known issue - Acura even sent out a notice bulletin but supposedly will only fix it free of charge if the car is still under warranty. I don't believe I should have to pay to fix this = it is a reasonable expectation to believe your windshields won't spontaneously shatter when there is no contact whatsoever.

The vehicle should be included in the recall for similar makes and models with the same issue. I almost crashed on the freeway because my high fuel pressure pump stopped working.

The driver side airbag. And yes, it can be inspected. I was involved in a low impact accident, where I struck a minor curb. The airbag deployed in my face, causing a loss of consciousness and ongoing concussion. No warning signs at all. Not yet, the vehicle is being looked at on Monday. The vehicle was inspected by the police.

This incident happened on July 5th 2025. My 2024 leased Acura RDX front passenger seat caught on fire. The car was parked and not driven for two days before this happened. My educated untrained guess and the police officer on the scene guess was that this was an electrical fire. My Acura dealer refuses to repair this and deny that is the issue. Acura told me this never happened before to a 2024 RDX but I told them this problem happened to years past Acura RDX. There was no issues with this car. I had this car serviced at Acura in April 2025 for regular maintenance service. As of today Acura refuses to repair or replace the car or admit fault with the electrical issue. I was told by Acura this was a thermal event and nothing else. I have pictures of this and the car is at Acura service department for any inspection since it is untouched by them. Also as of today’s date Acura has not sent me any correspondence of anything to do with my leased Acura RDX. This is affecting my life and it is very stressing on my family.

My back window blew out, without any cause. It was parked in my driveway on a 60 degree day. There is a known issue with the 2020 Acura RDX. There is even a service bulletin Acura issued to dealerships TSB 22-014. Acura dealership said was not covered under warranty and I would need to pay out of pocket

The contact owns a 2020 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the fuel pump had fractured and failed to function as intended. The contact was advised to contact the local dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the fuel pump had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. The VIN was unavailable.

My low beam headlights have diminished in their effectiveness / intensity over time such that I fear driving at night due to possible danger of an accident. If I do have to drive at night, I have to use my high beams...which is also totally unacceptable, and illegal in post places. I have taken the car to the Acura dealership to explain the problem and determine the proper fix. I felt like this should be covered under warranty, since this is a safety issue, no different than safety belts, air bags, etc. The Acura dealership tested the lights and acknowledged the problem, but stated there was no warranty coverage for the issue. The determined fix was to replace both headlight assemblies for a cost of approximately $2500. This is totally unacceptable in my opinion, given this a definite safety issue.

August & September 2025 The power steering stopped while driving and without warning, causing the car to be almost impossible to steer. I happened about 3 weeks ago and the dealer replaced the power steering unit after consulting with the Acura techline. Then after the power steering unit was replaced, it happened again, the same problem. Both times the Lane Keeping Assistance was engaged, so it might be related. The first time I was on a curve and it forced the car into the oncoming lane at night. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic or a could have a head-on collision. The second time I was on a highway and moving into the Exit lane, so I was able to pull off the road. Both times, when I stopped the car and turned the engine off and back on, the problem went away, but I got a brake warning that did not seem to affect the driving or the brakes. This is a serious safety problem that is very dangerous and must be fixed by Acura immediately. The local dealer seems to know nothing about the problem. Online there are multiple customer complaints being reported of the same problem. When I go to accelerate to pass another vehicle car completely shuts down stops running and all warning lights come on. Car is powerless in middle of making a pass which is very concerning have to coast to side of road putting me a perilous situation hoping I don't get hit head on before I can get off the road. Took car to dealer they said bad turbo so change turbo. Two weeks after repair started to pass another car and it did it again exactly like first time. Car is currently at dealer waiting on diagnosis. I feel like this is big safety issue and I don't feel safe driving car that constantly loses power when passing someone.

Acura recalled 2014 vehicles for delamination of reflector film within headlights that results in decreased light output. The RDX was not included, but many - like mine - have experienced this issue. I purchased the RDX in 2017 from an Acura dealer as a certified, lease return vehicle. I began to notice dimming of the low beams within the first year. I had the plastic outside of the headlights restored. No change. The low beams became unsafe. The dealer’s service department was aware of a recall on other models when I mentioned it. They provided me with a number to call American Honda. When I called they acknowledged the issue, but refused to help or provide any financial assistance to purchase new headlight assemblies. I was advised by my mechanic to use my high beams as they were brighter. The low beams barely light up the bumper - no projection. @12 lumens or = 3-5 watt nightlight bulb.

While driving at highway speed, all of a sudden I lost all power steering and multiple system failure warning lights appeared on the center dashboard including power steering failure, brake system failure and collision mitigation system failure, among others. With great difficulty I was able to steer the car off the highway and was towed to an Acura dealer. The car was 5 months old with just over 3000 miles at the time and there were no prior issues and no advanced warning when this happened. The dealer (Acura of Berlin in CT) stated they have seen this issues several times. The battery voltage was low (11.98-12.09 volts), although the car was being driven at highway speeds for at least 45 minutes before the incident. They charged and tested the battery, and their diagnostics said the battery was good. They also found a code "DTC U3000-49 EPS CONTROL UNIT INTERNAL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION". The dealer opened an incident with the Acura Tech line, who indicated that if the problem happens again they should replace the steering rack. No repair other than battery charging was performed. This is an unacceptable safety risk waiting for it to happen again. There are many reports of this exact problem online from 2025 Acura RDX owners. We need an immediate recall.
