Repair Procedure Summary

The repair for the untucked or torn carpet loops involves several steps to ensure a lasting fix. Initially, the door scuff plate is removed to access the affected carpet area. If torn carpet loops are identified, the damaged carpet is removed and replaced.

A new floor mat (Mat, Floor, No. 2, part number 58512-06010) is then prepared. Hot melt adhesive, specifically 3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3792LM (or an equivalent product), is applied to the carpet mating side of the new floor mat. This adhesive is applied according to specific patterns for both the driver-side and passenger-side orientations. The new floor mat is then carefully aligned and adhered to the vehicle's existing carpet. Finally, the newly adhered floor mat is secured onto the carpet hooks, and the door scuff plate is reinstalled. The technician confirms that the untucked or torn carpet condition no longer exists after the repair.
