2025-2026 Tesla Model Y Front Fascia Camera Issue

• "camera alerts" appearing on the vehicle's display.
• A "possible loss of the front fascia camera feed", meaning the camera image may disappear.
• Visual disturbances such as "severe blurriness" in the camera feed.
• An "intermittent or blank video feed" from the front fascia camera.

Diagnosis and Trigger Conditions

Technicians will first check the vehicle's firmware version. If the vehicle is operating with firmware version 2025.44.3 or later, or FSD V14.2, no further action related to software is necessary. If not, a software update (Service Manual procedure 00020003) may be required.

The primary diagnostic step involves inspecting the front fascia camera for signs of water ingress. This includes checking the camera's visibility on the vehicle touchscreen for issues like severe blurriness or an intermittent/blank video feed (as shown in Figure 1 of the bulletin). Technicians will also physically inspect the front fascia camera lens and connector using an LED flashlight for any signs of water or corrosion (Figures 2 and 3).

Repair Procedure Summary

If symptoms of water ingress or corrosion are identified, the repair involves replacing both the front fascia camera and the front fascia harness. The general steps for addressing the Tesla Model Y front fascia camera issue are:

1. Software Check: Verify the vehicle's firmware version and update if necessary.
2. Initial Camera Inspection: Visually inspect the front fascia camera feed on the touchscreen for blurriness or intermittent operation.
3. Physical Camera Inspection: Remove the front fascia camera (Service Manual procedure 1722010011) and use an LED flashlight to inspect the lens and connector for water ingress or corrosion.
4. Fascia Removal: Remove the front fascia (Service Manual procedure 1001020501).
5. Harness Removal: Detach the camera connector branch of the front fascia harness from the fascia by removing fir-tree clips (Figure 4) and releasing it from any hooks (Figure 5). Note that Model Y Performance vehicles may have an additional hook.
6. Harness Inspection: Inspect the harness for signs of abrasion or water ingress (Figures 8-11). If damage is present, the harness will be replaced. If no damage, the corrugated tubing is reinstalled and secured with electrical tape.
7. Component Replacement (if necessary): If water ingress or corrosion is found in the camera or harness, both the front fascia camera and the front fascia harness are replaced (Service Manual procedures 1722010012 and 1710040202).
8. Reassembly: Install the new front fascia harness, front fascia camera, and then the front fascia.
9. Finalization: Complete the repair order to automatically update the vehicle configuration, confirming the repair has been performed. This gateway configuration update is verified remotely.

To perform the inspection and repair, technicians may use the following parts and supplies:

• 1933899-00-C: ASY, HARN, FR FASCIA (Front Fascia Harness Assembly)
• 1972134-00-D: FASCIA CAMERA ASSEMBLY
• 000-0474-001: THREADLOCKER, LOCTITE 222, PURPLE

Shop supplies include electrical tape, masking tape, and an LED flashlight.
