Symptoms of a Fuel Injector Leak

Owners of affected 2022-2025 Jeep Compass and Renegade vehicles may experience several noticeable symptoms indicating a potential fuel injector leak. The most common sign is a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination on the dashboard. Beyond the warning light, drivers might also observe:

• Unstable idle
• Abnormal engine noise

These symptoms are often accompanied by specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the vehicle's computer system.

2. Using an endoscope (special tool EQ-10353143) to visually inspect all injectors. With assistance, the ignition key is turned on (without starting the vehicle) and held for one minute per injector to observe for leaks.

Repair Procedure Summary

Once a Jeep Compass fuel injector leak is confirmed, the repair procedure outlined in TSB 14-009-25 REV. B involves replacing the defective fuel injectors and the associated high-pressure tube. The number of injectors replaced depends on the diagnosis:

• If only one injector is defective, one injector and the high-pressure tube are replaced.
• If two injectors are defective, two injectors and the high-pressure tube are replaced.
• If three or all four injectors are defective, all four defective injectors and the high-pressure tube are replaced.
