To facilitate this investigation, Honda is requesting the collection of specific vehicle parts before any repair attempts are made.

Honda's Technical Information & Support Group is searching for vehicles that exhibit an oil leak from the head cover gasket. This could be a customer concern or an oil leak noticed by a dealer during routine maintenance. The primary goal is to gather physical parts from affected vehicles for detailed analysis to determine why the Honda Civic head cover leak is occurring.

How Honda is Collecting Information

Dealership personnel are instructed to identify and report any vehicle that matches the specified qualifiers. This process is outlined in the communication titled "Request for Parts: 2022-2023 Civic 1.5T & 2023 Civic 2.0L Head Cover Leak (ACTION REQUIRED)". If a qualifying vehicle is identified, dealers must email Technical Information & Support (TIS) at [email protected] or call 800-880-1072 (Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm PST).

Required information for submission includes:

• Email Title: Model Year (e.g., 2024), Model Name (e.g., Accord), Issue (e.g., Brake Judder), and VIN.
• Email Body: Dealer Number, Your Name, Best Phone Number, Current Mileage, confirmation of meeting all qualifiers, and one wide-angle plus one close-up photo of the leaking area. A DPTS# is also required.

As an incentive, AHM will provide a VISA gift card to dealership personnel who successfully identify and report a qualifying vehicle that is accepted for parts collection.
