Symptoms

Owners of 2024 BMW X1 and X2 vehicles may report several issues related to the Bluetooth system. If the vehicle's I-Level is currently at U006-24-07-530 or a more recent version, the vehicle should not be programmed, and standard diagnosis should continue. However, if the I-Level is lower than U006-24-07-530, the vehicle must be programmed to I-Level U006-24-07-530 or higher using ISTA 4.48.2x (released July 11th, 2024) or a newer version. This programming process requires connecting a battery charger and the programming system (ISTA 4) to the vehicle. Technicians will then determine a measures plan, accept and work through it to program, encode, and enable control units. Finally, they must follow the rework list, carry out a vehicle test, and delete any fault memory if needed. After programming is complete, the functionality of the system should be checked.

BMW advises that if the vehicle's I-Level is already at U006-24-07-530 or a more recent version, the vehicle should not be programmed. Instead, standard diagnosis should be continued. Technicians are also reminded to always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply during programming, as detailed in SI B04 23 10. ISTA will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
