Symptoms

Technical Background

The root cause of these diverse electrical issues stems from environmental factors. In climates where road salts are frequently used to melt snow, it is possible for these heavy salt concentrations to enter the vehicle between the driver-side sill and the carpet. When this salt-laden mixture comes into contact with the body harness, it can cause the electrical splice points in the driver's sill area to oxidize and corrode. This corrosion disrupts electrical connectivity, leading to the observed malfunctions and the triggering of DTCs such as the Audi Q8 electrical faults U150600.

Audi has implemented a production solution to address this vulnerability: splice points are now sealed in production to prevent future corrosion.
