2021-2023 Audi Virtual Cockpit Display Marks TSB

Symptoms

These marks can appear as "circular spots along the top and bottom of display" (Figure 1 in the TSB) or "circular spots in the trip odometer" area (Figure 2 and Figure 3 in the TSB). Audi emphasizes that "Hardware improvements were made to the instrument cluster as of production date 01/01/2023. This date applies to the cluster NOT the vehicle." This means that vehicles produced after this date may still have an older instrument cluster if it wasn't replaced. Conversely, "If a replacement cluster is received with a production date BEFORE 01/01/2023 it is still ok to use as a replacement." Technicians are instructed to document the instrument cluster's production date in the claim comments. If the date is after January 1, 2023, a photo of the display and the part production label must be attached to DOC-IT for claim review.
