Repair Procedure Summary

Manual Re-initialization (without diagnostic tool)

1. Move the ignition to the ENGINE position without pressing the brake pedal.
2. Press the brake pedal and move the ignition to the START position.
3. Fully turn the steering wheel to the right and hold for 2-3 seconds until a kickback is felt.
4. Fully turn the steering wheel to the left and hold for 2-3 seconds until a kickback is felt.
5. Return the steering wheel to the central position.
6. Switch off the engine by moving the ignition to the STOP position. The EPS warning light should turn off.

Important Notes

Carefully follow all instructions displayed during the diagnostic procedures. Do not proceed to subsequent steps until the current step is fully completed. After completion, perform a KEY/OFF cycle, wait for the parking brake warning light to turn off on both the panel and button, then perform a KEY/ON cycle.

Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable Message

Owners of 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL) vehicles may see a pop-up message on the cluster stating, "Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable - Service Required". This issue is often linked to recent changes made in the radio's SETTINGS menu.

Radio Shutting Off Due to Hot Display

For 2022 D2/DT/DJ model year vehicles, customers might report a message stating "Screen is Hot. Display is Shutting down to cool down", followed by the radio display shutting off. This behavior is considered normal operation.

Owner Action

If the radio shuts off due to overheating, owners should reduce the HVAC settings to 80°F AUTO or lower for approximately 15 minutes. This allows the radio to return to normal operating temperature.
