Steering wheel makes clicking noise and becomes difficult when making small adjustments . After holding the steering wheel steady for a few seconds, there is increased resistance when trying to turn from the center position. Once the resistance is overcome, the steering suddenly moves more than expected, which can cause overcorrection. In addition, there is a clicking, light ticking, or binding sound when turning the steering wheel.down

I am reporting a critical security and safety defect regarding the 2026 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid. The vehicle was stolen only 10 days after purchase. Despite being equipped with factory-installed anti-theft systems and immobilizers, the security was easily bypassed without any physical keys. As a professional engineer, I believe this indicates a significant vulnerability in the vehicle's electronic security infrastructure or 'smart key' encryption. A security breach of this nature on a brand-new 2026 model, occurring within such a short timeframe, suggests a systemic manufacturing defect that puts other consumers at risk of vehicle theft and unauthorized operation.

Spontaneously the sunroof blew out and exploded. Luckily the sunroof was not open from the inside. If it was the glass would have shattered on the passengers including my 1 year old

The headgasket failed prematurely at 76,000 miles causing coolant to begin leaking out of the vehicle. The safety of myself and others is put at risk because a head gasket blowing caused the car to lose power on the way home from work which has caused me to have to slow down and not be able to start again. This causes other vehicles to have to break or go around me on the highway. The car is a 2023 Honda Civic. This premature head gasket failure is a known issue. The warnings appeared at 5PM when I was leaving work as soon as I started the car. Every light in the car went off. The vehicle was brought to the Honda Dealership in Lawrence, KS. They showed that the head gasket blew. The Vehicle is available for inspection upon request at the Honda Dealership in Lawrence, Kansas.

Sunroof glass suddenly shattered while driving with no impact. Very scary and Honda said it could be thousands to fix it. They say this has never happened before at their dealership and they've never heard of it happening.

- #11732570April 20, 2026UNKNOWN OR OTHER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The auto safety braking system has braked for no reason twice now. Both going 70 mph and going under a bridge. The car senses a car in front and slams on its brakes but there is nothing in front of the car. And all sensors were clean and free of obstructions. Pretty scary going 70 mph and the car just slams on the brakes.

Issue happens whenever I use adaptive Cruise control for any extended period of time. Typically occurs in less than an hour. The vehicle will be in active cruise mode and then the cruise control will suddenly shutoff and a few beeps are heard. I am unable to reactivate cruise control until I perform a key cycle at which point the cruise can be activated again.

I was driving merging onto the freeway and my sunroof completely shattered, no car was in front of me so, nor was I driving under a bridge, it just completely shattered. Looking as if someone grabbed a hammer or punched it, I know a rock wouldn’t shatter it, maybe crack but no it shattered. The glass looks like it lifted too , not caved in , so almost as if there was too much pressure as well. Have seen similar cases , not sure if any have reported but yes I have seen similar issues occurring. Thankfully I had my headliner closed , so the glass fell on there I had to pull over and figure it out, I did not touch the glass at all, as I’m currently having my Honda Dealership look at it. Just hope it doesn’t happen to others

My car is experiencing steering problem- it is sticking and makes it hard to steer, I took it to get diagnosed today and I was told I need a new steering gear box because it is faulty. This is a common recall for the year make and model car I have and I was told that my vin number doesn’t not have any recall yet it is still experiencing the same exact problem as the recall. The car is a year old but it’s been going on for months and I assumed it was normal because it’s never been mentioned until I found out about the recall and brought it in specifically for that reason

I bought a 2023 Honda Civic Sport from Carvana four months ago. Ever since I bought the car I have been experiencing sticky steering and rattling in the front of my car. It is constant, and even worse at high speeds. I had it diagnosed at Honda, and the Power Steering Rack needs replaced. As far as I can tell from all of my research online this is a KNOWN issue with my vehicle, but there is no recall on the issue yet. My vehicle is out of warranty, and the dealer wants to charge me $4000 for the new part. That’s an astronomical amount of money for someone to pay, when 1.6 Million vehicles are experiencing the same issue. I don’t have $4k laying around to just drop to replace my steering rack. There is also an ongoing lawsuit against Honda, for the issues with their steering racks. Every mechanic I have spoken to, says the steering rack should not need replaced on a 2023, with only 66,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Civic. The contact stated that there was a lot of play in the steering wheel while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V704000 (Steering). During the visit, it was determined that the steering rack did not need to be replaced. The recall was marked closed and the contact noticed that there was still a lot of play in the steering rack. The vehicle was returned to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the VIN was no longer under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

The Steering Gearbox, Electronic Power Steering failed. The steering was resistant and sticks on the highway, causing jerking and overcorrection to control the vehicle. This was with both manual driving and Lane Assist. Took the vehicle to the local Honda dealership, they confirmed the problem, and replaced the steering gearbox, EPS, because it was still under warranty. However, this is the same exact part and this problem will occur again. The car did not display any warnings.

- #11731033April 14, 2026TIRES, TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
while operating my 2026 Honda Civic, I experienced a sudden and catastrophic tire blowout with absolutely no prior warning. At no point before or during the incident did my Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alert me via the dashboard that my tire pressure was low or compromised in any way. Three critical failures occurred in this incident: 1. TPMS System Failure — My federally mandated TPMS system, required under FMVSS 138, failed to detect and alert me of dangerously low tire pressure prior to the blowout. I had zero dashboard warning at any point. 2. Tire Integrity Failure — The tire experienced a catastrophic sidewall blowout on a brand new vehicle. No road hazard, debris, or obstacle was struck prior to the failure. The structural integrity of the tire failed without cause. 3. Vehicle Safety System Communication Failure — The vehicle’s onboard diagnostics failed to detect and communicate a critical safety condition to me as the driver. On a 2026 model year vehicle, multiple redundant systems should have caught and communicated this danger, giving me the opportunity to respond and prevent the incident. These three failures created a dangerous chain of events that left me with no ability to take preventive action. The incident caused significant emotional distress. I have retained the damaged tire as physical evidence and have documented the incident with photographs. I am requesting a full investigation into whether this represents a pattern of TPMS and tire failures in the 2026 Honda Civic, and whether a safety recall is warranted. Evidence retained: Damaged tire, photographs of damage, vehicle in current condition for TPMS inspection.

My vehicle's Maintenance Minder system—the sole official schedule for maintenance per the Owner's Manual (Pages 649-658)—was corrupted by an authorized Honda dealer. The Service Advisor stated that sometimes technicians reset all the Maintenance Minder codes rather than just the applicable ones. Honda Corporate admitted this is a possibility when I followed up after the service. They stated that resetting all the codes rather than the ones that apply, can affect when and how future Maintenance Minder Codes appear. Honda provided contradictory information: first stating that the Maintenance Minder state cannot be reconstructed to accurately alert the owner to future necessary maintenance, then subsequently stating that reconstruction is possible if 'deemed necessary.' This leaves the owner with a corrupted safety maintenance system, with the remedy apparently contingent on Honda's discretion rather than the owner's right to accurate maintenance alerts. Without accurate alerts, critical maintenance items (brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid) may not be serviced at proper intervals, increasing risk of component failure. Attached: Service invoice (RO #189526, 04/03/26) showing dealer added unscheduled Coolant Flush (Item 5) to my B1 request and reset ALL codes. Manual (pp. 649-658) confirms Item 5 is a separate sub-item triggered only by the system, not mileage. Honda Corporate emails admit resetting all codes corrupts future alert accuracy but offered contradictory remedies (first 'cannot fix,' then 'if deemed necessary'). This systemic failure—dealers bypassing the algorithm and Honda failing to enforce corrections—leaves owners with corrupted safety maintenance data, risking missed critical service intervals.

To whom it may concern at NHTSA, I am filing a formal complaint regarding a critical technical discrepancy in Honda’s manufacturing records that is preventing essential safety diagnostics and maintenance for my vehicle. Vehicle Details: • VIN: [XXX] • Model: 2022 Honda Civic Touring (11th Generation) • Manufacturing Plant: Honda of Canada Mfg. The Issue: According to the NHTSA Part 565 submittal (which I have verified), this specific VIN is registered with an L15B7 engine (normally associated with the 10th Gen Civic). My vehicle physically carries this engine, and it is documented in my official registration. However, when I take the vehicle to the Authorized Honda Distributor (Nile Trading & Engineering) for service, their Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) fails to establish a connection with the vehicle’s ECU. The system identifies a "Software/Model Year Mismatch" because the global HDS software expects an L15CA engine for all 2022 models, while my car carries the L15B7 as per the manufacturer's early 2022 production records. Lack of Cooperation from Honda: I have contacted American Honda Motor Co. (Case #XXX) multiple times to request a technical solution or a software patch to allow the local dealer to access the car’s systems. Despite the clear evidence of a manufacturing record anomaly: 1.American Honda has been completely uncooperative, refusing to escalate the issue to their engineering team in Canada. 2.They have formally closed my case, stating they "operate independently" and cannot assist with vehicles outside their immediate region, even though the error originates from their own manufacturing database. Safety Risk: Due to this "Diagnostic Lock," I am unable to: • Perform critical safety recalls. • Update vehicle software/firmware. • Diagnose potential engine or safety system failures.
