SummarySome 2018-2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine, 2016-2022 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine, and 2017-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or before 08-Mar-2022 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P21DD, P20BA. P20B9, P204C, P208A, P208B, P208C, P203B, P205B, P21CD and/or U02A2 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to water intrusion within connectors C3613 and/or C4851/C3610 on the reductant harness going to the reductant pump/heater assembly and the reductant level sensor/quality module. This may also be due to movement of the wiring harness causing terminal fretting. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the reductant tank harness, the reductant pump/heater assembly and/or the reductant tank, as well as securing the wiring harness using a cable zip tie fastener.

SummaryFor 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

SummarySome 2021 F-650/F-750 vehicles built on or before 20-Nov-2020 may exhibit various electrical concerns and/or various illuminated warning lamps with various diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present. This may be due to the battery junction box (BJB) wiring harness contacting the coolant reservoir bracket. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to repair any damaged circuits and secure the BJB wiring harness to the BJB.

SummarySome 2018-2020 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty and 2016-2022 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a diesel engine may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0000 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) after an on-demand self test. This DTC is due to a processing error in the PCM as a result of on-demand self testing. P0000 is an invalid DTC that will not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and no repairs should be performed.

SummarySome 2021 F-Super Duty and 2021-2022 E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L gasoline engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0457 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a loose fuel filler cap. The fuel filler cap design has changed, requiring multiple turns to seal properly. Advise the customer to turn the fuel filler cap clockwise until there is at least one audible click to seal properly. For further diagnostics, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual, pinpoint test HX.

SummaryCertain 2020 Model Year Super Duty and 2021 Model Year Medium Duty Vehicles Equipped with a 6.7L Engine Left Hand Side High Pressure Fuel Rail Replacement. In some of the affected vehicles, the vehicle may have been built with a high pressure fuel rail where the internal fuel orifice may become dislodged. If the fuel orifice becomes dislodged, it can travel down and damage the pressure control valve pintle resulting in a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0088. Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this program, dealers are to replace the left hand side high pressure fuel rail using the technical instructions, even if DTC P0088 is not present. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner.

SummarySome 2021 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles may exhibit inoperative RKE key fobs resulting in key fob replacement or some customers may seek service to program additional key fobs to the vehicle. A new IDS procedure has been released with IDS version 119.01 to allow for RKE key fob programming. Start a vehicle session and click on the Toolbox Tab. Click on Body > Security > Remote Keyless Entry to begin programming new and/or additional key fobs. Only 4 RKE key fobs total can be programmed to each vehicle. All vehicles are equipped with a wired in connectivity device. If the customer elects to program this connectivity device it will take up 1 of the 4 available slots. The Workshop Manual procedure for RKE programming is also being updated.

SummarySome 2011-2020 F-Super Duty, 2015-2019 Transit, 2016-2021 F-650/F-750 and 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L, 3.2L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P207F, P20EE, P229F, P2201 and/or P24AE. This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the after treatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end after treatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors.
