1)The tubing that takes the windshield fluid from the tank to the actual sprayers and the heating element for the washer fluid (not important but was also damaged due to flaw in design. Yes it is still available for inspection. 2)Under Ohio Administrative Code 4501:2-1-16, every motor vehicle manufactured after January 1, 1968, must be equipped with a windshield washer system maintained in operable condition at all times, capable of cleaning the windshield to provide a clear view for the driver. Due to their flaw in design there are years of Eos’s without just this! Vw’s fix, pay for a fix where you crushed the line with the hood. They have now set us up for a minor misdemeanor Failing to keep the windshield clean or operating with an obstructed view can result in a minor misdemeanor citation under Ohio Revised Code 4513.24. When it has just rained and the road dirt is all over the wind shield there is nothing we can do add the sun blaring in, the close call have been many when factors come into play. It has been see by an independent VW mechanic who said it very common. There are no fine sign you just can’t clean your windshield, the fluid is going all over under your car, it’s wonder the electric doesn’t short out.

Car randomly turning off/on. Key stuck in ignition, cannot turn off or on. Bouncing from on to accessory mode without user control. Vehicle was taken to dealership, VW North America has not been very helpful. Could have gotten into an accident as this occured in the road turning into a restaurant. No lights came on about this. Dealership has had car for 3+ weeks "waiting for parts". VW North America does not want to get involved. To kill the engine I had to pull the fuel pump fuse.

approximately 6 years my daughter and her boyfriend were driving and she heard a loud pop sound, and thought it might be a tire but it wasnt behaving like it was and then all of the sudden people are driving next to her telling her to pull over cuz the car was on fire, she pulled it over and as soon as she got out the whole car caught fire. when they noticed the fire it had started near or under the passenger front seat, there was no warning lamps or any problems proir. The auto insurance company took the car and they said they inspected it but never gave me any answers, they simply paid off my loan and that was it. The fire department put out the fire, the car was burnt to a crisp, and the fire men were accusing my kid of smoking and starting the fire, so they did no investigation.

My airbag light came on my 2012 EOS and Vw dealer said it was a Clock Spring part issue causing it part number (5K0-953-569-AL) I mentioned this is a safety issue as it also disabled my horn on steering wheel and was pretty sure VW had a recall/bulletin or campaign on this issue. Appears for some odd reason VW didn’t have my vin [XXX] listed or flagged which I believe is a clear mistake. I am escalating this situation with VW and now here as my vehicle is having this same problem and needs listed as well. I strongly feel vw should replace the defective part 5K0-953-569-AL as part of an unidentified vin or vehicle they seem to pick and choose and that isn’t right. VOLKSWAGEN RECALL # 69L2 NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 15V483000 I am not driving it right now as not safe and feel Vw needs to step up and do what is right as exempting vehicles by vin or whatever is not taking proper responsibility for the defects known. When pushing the driver side seat belt into the buckle, it instantly unlatched buckles. Yea it can be inspected. If in a car accident the driver could be seriously injured or fatally injured. I contacted Germain Westerville, Ohio who informed me it’s not under warranty and it would be $500 - $600 dollars. Contacted corporate who said it’s out of warranty but will have a supervisor call my on December 16,2025 It has not been inspected by police or insurance, it’s the only car I have to drive not sure how police are going to respond to that. No warning what’s so ever. I did try spraying WD40 just in case something was stuck.

The contact owns a 2008 Volkswagen EOS equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Assurance A/S, Tire Size: 215-55/R16, DOT Number: (NA). While the contact’s son was driving approximately 60 MPH, there was an abnormal thumping sound coming from underneath the vehicle. After pulling over and inspecting the vehicle, the driver noticed a blowout of the front passenger’s side tire. The tire was replaced with the spare tire. The vehicle was taken back to the tire shop where the tire had been purchased approximately one year prior; however, there was no replacement provided free of charge because there was no recall or warranty coverage on the tire. The tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was 72,245. The tire failure mileage was approximately 7,423

While in slow traffic and transmission in Drive position, if I slow down or stop for traffic in front of me or a red light, the transmission does not engage again when given acceleration. I have shut the car off and restarted again, sometimes more than once to get it to engage and get me out of traffic. I have held up traffic behind me. There are also loud clunking noises coming from what I believe is the transmission at each start causing the PRNDL to flash and no power for reverse and drive. I believe all of this will eventually cause a collision as it appears to other vehicles that I should be moving. People have also become very frustrated with my vehicle holding up traffic, especially on the busiest of days and long lines waiting to advance behind me. People have become impatient and angry to the point of road rage. Thankfully, no one has actually tried to hurt me physically. The date below would be the latest incident.

The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen EOS. The contact stated that while operating, a burning odor was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. Later, while operating the vehicle, the front driver's side seat became extremely hot, causing the driver's back and legs to become burned. The contact indicated that the burn injuries would later require medical treatment. The contact indicated that the sweater worn was also charred, and a small burn hole was present in the sweater. The contact discovered a burn hole and exposed heater filament on the back section of the front driver's seat and a burnt section on the seat cushion of the driver's seat. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined that the seat temperature had reached 163 degrees while the seat heater was activated. The contact was advised that the seat needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and authorized to have the back section of the seat replaced. The back section of the seat was replaced the bottom section of the seat was not replaced. The dealer also advised that the front passenger side seat had experienced the same overheating failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I have the RNS510 radio which the NHTSA has received concerns about and there are several Tec Bulletins in regards to the radio not functioning properly. When this radio goes out due to the need of over priced software update, we loose our Bluetooth and backup cameras! Backup camera we installed so the drive could make sure they were not running over any small children on the ground and when that element fails and it falls on deaf ears here to make them fix that and their know faulty cameras, is the NHTSA going to take responsibility for the dead child that wasn’t yours so you would be looking as closely for one but if the know faulty system actually worked that child had a better chance of being alive because you can see your surroundings. There is a Service bulletin supporting the pictures below. Mine just stopped loading tried to upload the software that I bought from the dealership and bricked the whole system!! It will now drain my battery if the fuse is in. Since this has been neglected to be addressed for many years, I am just wondering who within the NHTSA is being paid off by VW and maybe we need to start writing our representatives hoping for a change because clearly VW knows it’s a problem and it’s been reported.

In an accident I was struck by another vehicle that swerved into my lane at a very high rate of speed. His vehicle struck my car on the drivers side front quater panel just after the head light and continued past the drivers door. Air bags failed to deploy causing injuries to my head and body. In a separate accident, head on collision the airbags failed in the front and side causing bodily injuries. The failure of the air bags to deploy was supposed to fixed in Nov 2022 at the VW dealership with the clock spring recall . I did have that replaced so why did mine fail not once but twice after the clock spring was replaced?

Due to the cold weather I turned on the driver heated seat. I suddenly started feeling it extremely hot, I was wearing a quilted sweater. When I arrived at my work a coworker noticed that my sweater was burned from the back, it had a hole. Then I saw that the seat was burnt due to the extreme heat, the seat melted, it had three small holes and one bigger. I am just concerned that my car could’ve burned while I was driving, due to the malfunction of the heated seats.

My daughter was driving on the freeway to work around 5am when her sunroof burst onto thousands of pieces. She stated "it sound like a massive explosion and scared her causing her to swerve her car." Thank God it was early in the morning, on a weekend, and with minimal traffic on the road. She was able to pull over safely, and call me. We have now been dealing with the insurance company that tells us the glass is covered, but safelite tells us they are unable to repair it. The volkswagen dealership told us their are 2 windows in the US inventory, but not able too locate them. The cost to repair is estimated $2,400. The dealership said this is a very common issue with the sunroofs to burst like this. My daughter's 2007 eos has less than 100,000 miles on it. Insurance won't total it as nothing is wrong to do so, and other than this window there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. She can not drive it due to the safety risks of her head being exposed id wrecked, and the car at risk of theft. Please if this happens all the time then why are they not held responsible to replace it? It's just like the leaks on the arms of the hard top that volkswagenis definitelyaware of, and does nothing about. Maybe the un recalled seals that leak in the roof have something to do with the well known sunroof issues, and strings that dry rot out from getting wet. We have replaced the whole string kit and both arms with seals to the roof already. The dealership Larry Miller Volkswagen said these should be recalled due to as many as they have replaced over the years. Please help us. My daughter loves her car.

My car goes into a false neutral and shifts out of gear while driving. The "PRNDS" indicator on dash had a blinking "D" alternating with a wrench. I have to come to a complete stop turn the car off and right back on and it goes away for about 5-10 minutes only to reoccur. This started happening when weather became hot, and only occurs after driving for an hour or more. Only when hot outside. I performed transmission fluid service with no resolve. There was no debris in the old fluid to indicate mechanical issues. I also get error code P2711- "unexpected mechanical failure". This has almost caused me to wreck several times putting my life and others at risk until I turn car off and immediatly restart engine which allows normal operation for a few minutes. It doesn't operate normally until car cools down. My engine is not overheating. My transmission fluid, and coolant services are current. NHTSA safety recall 09V333000 addressed this exact same issue on 20 August 2009 but it only covers model years 2009 and 2010. This is still a well known problem for the VW DSG transmission experienced by many others. VW said that they couldn't help me even though it's the same issue because my car is a 2012, and it only covers 2009-2010? I am a Disabled Veteran with a heart condition and can't afford to be on the side of the road in the heat without severe health issues.

My seat heaters were on for 1 minute and started to smoke and burned multiple quarter sized holes in my seat. They burned holes in my winter coat and even made my skin have minor burns. There was a smoke that appeared and a very bad burning smell.

We have the Xenon headlights, which requires us to have headlight washers on our cars due to safety issue for the other drivers on the road so they don’t get blinded, who’s is great if 1) they worked most of the time 2) people did not start pulling the fuse or discontinuing the hose so it hit the ground. See Volkswagen has a know issue, that when they pop out to spray the headlights, they are known to break the cover! This in turn leaves the sprayer exposed to the elements to get clogged and not work, owners to get mad because they just break again after replaced (reason why they get disconnected) and the cost is not cheap to replace, the actual part is not bad the problem is, it’s primed grey and you have to get it painted which cost over $100. If you do a quick search over this you will see tons of complaints and the dealership is well aware of the issues, one lady had hers replaced under warranty and they said the sprayer was not in the right place. I could agree with that seeing as my windshield also gets sprayed! There were no warnings, we did not think ours even worked we had the car almost a year the first time they ever worked!! Still not sure what made them work exactly.

I slowly at 5mph went over a bump and my car went automatically into neutral, all of the P R N D S lights on the dash started blinking and the car just kept revving when I tried to put it into gear. I had the car towed to the dealership and it is currently there. I looked on Kelly Blue Book and saw there was a recall for my vehicle type and the recall states exactly what happened to my car. Can my VIN number be added to this recall since it is the very same mechanical issue? Here is the information I found on the recall NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 09V333000 Report Date: AUG 20, 2009 Vehicles Affected: 16000 What You Should Do: VOLKSWAGEN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, INSPECT THE DSG AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE AN AFFECTED DSG TEMPERATURE SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED A NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLKSWAGEN AT 1-800-822-8987. Summary: VOLKSWAGEN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 AND 2010 PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2008 AND AUGUST 2009. THE WIRING HARNESS OF A TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN THE DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX (DSG) MAY HAVE CONNECTOR WIRES THAT WERE INSUFFICIENTLY CRIMPED. WITH INSUFFICIENTLY CRIMPED CONNECTOR WIRES, A TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAS THE POTENTIAL TO FALSELY DETECT A HIGH GEARBOX OIL TEMPERATURE, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO ABRUPTLY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE SELECTOR LEVER POSITION INDICATOR WITHIN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL FLASH. IN ADDITION, THE "DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL" INDICATOR LIGHT WILL BE ILLUMINATED, ALERTING THE DRIVER TO APPLY THE BRAKES. To see if your specific vehicle is affected 1-800-822-8987 or nhtsa.gov Please let me know if there is anything that can be done.
