The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS, service brake, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the engine had been running hot, resulting in damages to the engine even though the temperature gauge had failed to indicate that the engine was hot(H). The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel injector for bank two. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the second dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the head gasket. The second dealer stated that there was coolant leaking into bank two. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Hi, In my car VSC light is always on, I got it scan as well but it doesn't show any code for VSC and ABS systems. Toyota dealership also don't give any information about the codes. It's kind of very dangerous to drive with all the lights on the cluster. Thank You

About a month ago my daughter left the toyota dealership in Bradenton fl. after an oil change. She drove several hundred feet, the car stalled and she couldn't start it. The mechanic crew had to push it back into the service area, after been there for 2 days they found no problem, Just last Monday [XXX] she filled the car up at a gas station, as she was leaving the car stalled again and she couldn't start it, the car was towed back to same dealership, they could find a problem after being there another 2 days. I believe it's a computer chip problem, which hasn't been resolved by Toyota, I don't want my daughter to have an accident and get hurt due to this problem, perhaps your agency can look into this toyota problem INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am experiencing significant glaring on my windshield as a result of my melting dashboard reflecting on the windshield. This problem is making my car unsafe to drive. The glare becomes extremely intense with rain and night driving. After researching this issue today, apparently Toyota is well aware of this safety issue but did not notify me about a program to replace my dashboard. I am only becoming aware today that there was a program to fix this issue. I understand this same problem has been reported by many other Toyota Camry owners. I contacted Toyota today to report my concerns and requested assistance to remedy this safety problem. The Toyota rep. recommended I file a complaint here with NJTSA. Also Toyota will see if they can arrange for me to bring my car in to a Toyota Dealer for an inspection.

i live in Florida. We get a lot of rain. My Toyota Camry 2018 is unsafe and actualy dangerous to drive in the rain as the wiper speed, even on high, is too slow. Most of the time I HAVE TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDEOF THE ROAD AND HOPE THAT NO ONE CRASHES INTO ME. THIS Iis EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE DEALERS ARE ALL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. WHY HASNT THERE BEEN A RE-CALL TO FIX THIS? THANK-YOU.

Vehicles dash board is melting. Produces a high shine effect that reflects sunlight into the front glass, effectively blinding the driver. Toyota has acknowledged this in a “warranty enhancement program” but will no longer repair the dashboard as the recall has “expired”. The warranty program had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle. Engine burns oil due to piston assembly manufacturing errors. Toyota has acknowledged this in T-SB-0158-14 but will no longer repair the engine as the recall has “expired”. The recall had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Battery was replaced 6 months ago due to being old, however, on Sept 19,2024 the car was completely dead after 4 days of no driving. Jumped by AAA and taken to dealer. Dealer reported on Sept 20 no issue with battery and no idea what could be draining th battery. Told me I don’t drive it enough even though I just came back from a high mileage vacation and drove it for over 1 hour each way four days prior and two days before that. Told me I need to run for 30 min every other day even if it is just keep it idle in garage. Prior to this battery change I had no such issue letting it sit for days and not start. There seems to be an issue with this year of Camry that is going unaddressed by Toyota and needs a remedy other than drive your car more often as well as being told to buy a maintainer/charger to keep battery charged as told by the tech. This is a widespread problem that needs to be fixed or made right by the company especially when car is under warranty.

STRUCTURE:BODY, SUSPENSION, WHEELS
1)BODY- The body of the vehicle (paint) seems to be chipping and/or rusting at an increasingly rapid rate with no known causes. This rusting is causing the value of the car to plummet as I am trying to sell the vehicle. It first appeared in about 2019 and has been getting steadily worse without any way to stop it. 2) SUSPENSION- On every single Toyota I’ve owned (4) the struts wore very quickly and are NOT a cheap fix. I had to at one point, fix them more than once in the same vehicle. I was told by the repair tech that it is a common issue seen in Toyotas. If a strut goes while driving it can cause major safety issues for the driver. 3)WHEELS- The hubcaps more specifically speaking, on every Toyota I’ve owned, have also had an issue maintaining its hubcaps. One rolled off on the highway and nearly caused me to crash as it hit the side of my car and slid under the rear tires and made me slide all over the snowy highway. Luckily there weren’t many vehicles on the road or it could’ve been catastrophic. I also notice that the light for the tire pressure never turns off either. I can fill the tires, empty the tires, it does not matter, the light will never go off.
