The automatic transmission has failed. The vehicle exhibits slipping, hard or delayed shifting, intermittent loss of drive, and most critically, the car completely shut off while I was driving on the highway, creating an immediate risk of a serious accident. Hard shifting and gear slipping began approximately 11/04/2025. The transmission warning light hasn't even come on. Sudden hesitation during acceleration or gear changes became increasingly frequent. The most severe symptom occurred when the car completely shut off on the highway which is very dangerous. Toyota Dealer verified the issue and informed me that the has DTCs for Torque Converter failure. Replaced Transmission at a cost of $10,150. . I respectfully request that Toyota consider offering a goodwill reimbursement for the repair of the transmission for my vehicle. Provide guidance to owners of similar vehicles to prevent accidents or injuries. I am very disappointed to have a major transmission failure at this mileage especially with proper care and no signs of abuse and neglect. I strongly believe this should not occur under normal driving conditions and proper maintenance. My check engine light did NOT COME ON

Car stalled while driving and needed to be towed to dealership. Dealership confirmed that there was coolant intrusion into the engine that clogged the fuel injector causing the car to stall while driving. Dealership informed us that car will need a new engine and transmission because of the coolant intrusion. The car stalled while driving and could have led to an accident or loss of life depending on where the car stalled and when. This coolant intrusion has been confirmed by the dealership and shown to us via video they took. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership and we called Toyota corp to have then review this as a safety issue. They informed us the call stalling was not a safety issue. UNKNOWN on confirmed symptoms prior.

The vehicle has experienced ongoing engine misfire issues while driving. The check engine light illuminated, and diagnostic testing identified a cylinder misfire (P0302). The vehicle shakes, runs rough, and has reduced power, especially during acceleration. These symptoms create a safety concern, as the loss of power and engine instability could affect the ability to safely merge, accelerate, or maintain speed in traffic. The issue has been confirmed by diagnostic scans performed by an independent service center. The problem appears to be persistent and not consistent with normal wear for a vehicle of this age and mileage. No collision has occurred, but the condition poses an ongoing safety risk while operating the vehicle. The issue has not yet been resolved by the manufacturer.

While driving the vehicle in high winds, wind and air can be heard entering the cabin near the front of the drivers side door. Multiple heavy gusts of wind caused the car to move into the other lane and had a negative effect on steering the vehicle. Toyota denies there is something wrong with the door seals or design of the vehicle, but this is a safety hazard when driving in high sustained winds of 15MPH or more.

Several times when I have honked my horn on my 2025 Camry SE cruise control has engaged. That is a dangerous situation if I'm trying to avoid a slow vehicle or accident and the vehicle goes into cruise control mode. Not sure what Toyota can do about this as the cruise control buttons are on the right side of the steering wheel behind the horn. Maybe it is overlapping or too close. There are auto braking cruise control options with the Camry but there is also a disengage non control mode that could lead to that accident.

I'm writing this for my father because he might not have the technical capacity to do this. He is [XXX] old. He bought a car last year brand new from Toyota. It is a Hybrid Camry that has some options that allow the car to follow traffic, lane keep etc. On [XXX] he had a Hybrid System Malfunction that caused the car to accelerate while at a traffic light ready to turn left. The acceleration caused his car to collide with the car in front of him. He tried to press the brakes but was not able to do it fast enough. The car in front had no damage. His car has a lot of damage. The other driver drove off. His car was damaged so much that it was not drivable. There was radiator fluid on the road. This was on [XXX]. He took the car in immediately after back to the Toyota dealership. The car is still there. It has been almost 40 days now with no resolution. No car, no rental. The dealership is saying Toyota (the headquarters has to deal with it), and Toyota did a 3rd party inspection on Nov 11, 2025. And now they are saying they will do another Toyota inspection between 30 and 45 business days from the initial inspection. So that takes us into mid January 2026 with my dad stranded with no car or having to uber or pay out of pocket to rent a car. On top of that, the dealership now has told my dad he has to get the car off their lot or start accumulating fees. They performed an EDR report. Attachin below. I am also attaching several pictures of the error messages I got including proximity notification system malfunction. And other documents. The contact owns a 1997 Toyota Camry. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 97V156000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. In addition, the contact lived in a hot climate area and believed that the recall would not affect the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I have a 2018 Toyota Camry XSE with 67,000 miles. The car started making a clinking noise when driving over small bumps, increasingly getting louder over the course of a few days. I took it in to a mechanic and both the left and right strut mounts and coils were rusted and fully cracked . When lifted, both front tires fell to the sides. This could have resulted in significant car damage had I driven over a large bump,. The mechanic stated that he had never experienced this in a newer car with so few miles.

In short: I had a whining noise coming from under my hood, my car was changing gears roughly. When I was driving on I-95 N and my car lost power/ the ability to accelerate on the highway. I had to make my way to the far-right lane and exit the highway. My safety was at risk at this point (no warning lights came on my dashboard). My car lost the ability to drive. I had my car towed to the Toyota dealership. The mechanic recorded a video of my car giving details of the issue (I have the video). My transmission needs to be replaced (internal failure noted by the mechanic), and my car has yet to reach 65,000 miles! This is ridiculous. I seen many complaints on the NHTSA site regarding this vehicle and the transmission. A class action lawsuit needs to take place, and Toyota needs to pay 100% of these repairs. This reports night-time driving experiences, during which the front left LED headlight projects/creates fixed black “shadow” images onto the roadway in front of the car, partially obscuring the driver’s far left field of view of the roadway. Despite adjustments of the front left headlight by dealer technicians, the left headlight “shadows”, while lessened, are still projected onto the roadway and represent a night time driving safety concern. Dealer technicians made adjustments to the left headlight projection on 2 occasions. (1 the technician reported that there seems to be “bubbles” in the left side headlight projection. Technician adjusted the left headlight’s aim to proper height. Technician reports that “shadow” on roadway is a normal characteristic of LED projector inside headlamp. (2 the technician reported that the left driver side headlight is slightly high and needed to be properly aligned. Technician reports that “shadow” marking on roadway is considered normal.

My 2020 Camry has been nothing but a problem and Toyota is noncompliant with helping me. The service recall for the fuel pump was fixed at Vaughn Toyota in Bastrop La .. a week later I still had the same issues. They refused to put another fuel pump on my car even thought the fuel pump had a one year warranty. I then took it to Landers in Little Rock and since I had “codes” I had to pay $180 diagnostic fee. Fast forward to now, still have the same crappy fuel pump. I took it to Ryburn Toyota and was told to replace the charcoal canister and vent valve . That was $1000. Problem not fixed. All my lights stay on, I often get a charging system error notification. It goes into reduced power mode. And has left me stranded numerous times on the side of the road. I want whatever is wrong with my car fixed. I have never owned a vehicle with this many problems. I thought Toyota’s were good vehicles but I promise if I ever get rid of this one, I will not purchase another Toyota vehicle again.
