STEERING
My vin number isnt showing up for the steering rack recall but recently i got into my truck to get it out of the garage and the second i tried to turn the wheel it jerked and the steering shutdown so i couldnt turn the wheels.the truck has less than 12,500 miles on it. Its been in a air-conditioned garage its entire life. Its in the shop right now getting a new rack installed. $3500

SERVICE BRAKES
ABS Contol module failure, highly known and documented issue with the ram 1500's. Mine is a 2016 with the 5.7L. Showing ABS code C2200-49. Parts are no where to be found and it is now impossible to have the module rebuilt due to Chrysler no longer producing the hardware. I have a very expensive paper weight sitting in my driveway!

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
It appears to be a fuel leak. The incident happened less than 200 miles after having a dealer perform the NHTSA recall 22V-406, FCA recall Z46. The truck caught fire while pulling a travel trailer. The only way we were aware of it was a passing motorist saw flames shooting out from under the right side. As soon as we pulled over the truck immediately filled with smoke and the fire spread as the fuel puddled below the truck. Chrysler sent an inspector to look at the truck, not enough of the engine, passenger cabin, or front of the truck was left to make a conclusive cause. There was no indication we had an issue and if not for the fortunate timing of the passing motorist this could have turned out much worse. I was relating this story in a restaurant to my nephew when a passing waiter asked if it was a ECO diesel and I said yes, he related his story which was identical including the recall. I attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher we kept in the truck but it was too big by the time we pulled over. We were traveling at less than 50MPH stop and go traffic which had just started moving.

POWER TRAIN
I had to get a couple jump starts in one day. then got a diagnosis check it said u1267 then got battery check it said it wasn't charging, check engine light was one after awhile went off. y'all installed the standard battery instead of the agm battery in the ram torque. that's reason for other glitches as well heat an air control getting stuck etc. I had to buy the right battery. BATTERY TO EXPENSIVE NEW

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Since the vehicle was brand new frequently, the transmitter loses communication with the key fob and you cannot start the vehicle. I have been stuck many times for hours trying to get it started. Took it to the dealer three times. They said there is no fix currently and that it's happening to a lot of customers.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the ABS, brake, and other unknown warning lights illuminated, and the messages "Traction Control Disengaged", "Shift Knob Required Servicing", "Cruise Control Disconnected", "Video Display Need Servicing," and other unknown messages were displayed. The steering wheel was firm and difficult to turn. The vehicle was turned off and failed to restart immediately. The contact stated that after several minutes, the vehicle restarted. Additionally, while driving with the cruise control feature activated, the feature deactivated inadvertently and the message "Traction Control Disconnected" was displayed. The fuel gauge on the instrument panel was moving erratically and then became inoperable. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and then restarted. The vehicle was then taken to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer four times and was diagnosed with an unknown communication error. During the first visit, the ABS module was replaced. During the second, third, and fourth visits, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure, but stated that there was a communication error. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

SERVICE BRAKES
Anti-Lock Brake Module Internal Failure - Code C2200-49 The truck ABS does not work, tractions control is disabled, and Cruise Control does not work. There were no lights or warning until the day I went to start the vehicle and then the abs, traction control, and brake light came on and stayed on once the truck was started. With researching this issue, it seems to be a widely known issue for several year trucks and parts to repair the ABS module are no made any longer. Calling the dealer the replacement part, which from what I read has been redesigned and is on an unknown backorder timeline. The cost for the part and labor is very high. From what I have read there was a TSB/Recall on some 2017 and newer ram trucks. I have not been able to determine if this is the same ABS module that is being used for the replacements in the older rams trucks. The truck without ABS and traction control is dangerous. I was on the highway and traffic came to an abrupt stop and when I applied the brakes my rear tires started to lock up. Luckily I am a defensive natured driver and was able to keep control of the vehicle and adjust my braking pressure and move towards the burm of the highway. In rainy conditions and others, it is going to be scary as well as trying to drive with wet/icy roads with no traction control it is not optimal.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The contact reported the failure to the manufacturer. ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
XXX, [XXX] East Bound ~ 9:30 PM, , pulling a tandem-axle boat and trailer ~ 6000# GVW , the truck slowed suddenly, in traffic ~ 62 MPH. I contacted CJDR dealers in [XXX], and [XXX], and both stated there was no recall, warranty, or goodwill repair, available for my truck. [XXX] told me the same, when I called. I took the truck to an independent diesel shop, in [XXX] to just go ahead and have a CPS (crankshaft position sensor, and tone wheel) put in. He said both the CJDR dealers and Stellantis told him the truck was “ineligible” for the repair parts kit – he was unable to obtain one. They claimed *my* truck did not have the faulty tone wheel assembly. In the mean time, the code he documented P0335, did not return, and I continued to drive the truck, until XXX, 11:00PM I-4 [XXX] about the 106MM, the truck did the same thing, same trailer, same danger. After restart, limping home, OBDii code P0335, was present. On XXX, I took the truck for diagnosis, to New Smyrna CJDR, and they completed replacement of the CPS and tone wheel, today, XXX. The repair cost me $3,470.98 on Invoice Number XXX. I purchased the truck from New Smyrna CJDR, three months after it was built, which was two days before the production line started using the new design of CPS tone wheel. Stellantis knew, and the dealer knew. Still, they sent me off down the road. I would like to be reimbursed. Please find invoices from New Smyrna CJDR and Reed’s Garage. While at a stop and turning, the vehicle started spinning like the vehicle was driving on ice, even though the outside temperature was hot. SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The ABS/brake warning lights illuminated on my 2017 Ram 1500. I have not noticed a difference in normal braking performance. Diagnostic testing identified codes C2200-49 related to an internal ABS module electronic failure and C0020-01, ABS pump motor control/general electrical failure. I was advised that the ABS module and/or hydraulic control unit may require replacement. I am concerned that the ABS system may not function properly when needed. I am also aware that certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and other heavy-duty Ram models have been recalled under NHTSA Campaign 24V-896 for HCU failure resulting in loss of ABS, stability control and traction control. I have found reports of similar ABS failures involving Ram 1500 vehicles, which are not included in that recall. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA can evaluate whether this represents a broader safety defect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ENGINE
The 48-Volt Belt-Driven Hybrid Starter Generator / Motor Generator Unit (MGU / eTorque Alternator) suffered a catastrophic failure on my vehicle at approximately [Insert Mileage, e.g., 140,000] miles. The failure occurred while traveling out of state away from home, causing a sudden loss of vehicle charging, dashboard electrical errors ("Battery Saver Mode"), and creating an imminent threat of an engine stall in live traffic. Due to widespread manufacturer part backorders exceeding tens of thousands of units, my vehicle was forced to sit at a dealership until I could pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for a component that Ram has actively removed from newer production vehicles due to its high failure rate. This is a severe, systemic durability and safety issue affecting thousands of trucks. I am requesting that NHTSA force FCA/Stellantis to issue a safety recall and establish a retroactive reimbursement program for all owners who paid out-of-pocket for MGU replacements. I possess the official out-of-state dealership invoice and proof of payment.

I was driving down the highway, in light rain around 9pm, very little road traffic, when all of a sudden the forward glass of my sunroof exploded, it sounded like a gun shot. But then I heard wind noise and realized the glass on my sunroof just imploded towards the sky. Very alarming, no other sun roof issues previously on this vehicle. Safe lite replaced the sun roof, but it took several weeks for mopar/ram dealership to get the part in. It seems online I’m not the only person with a ram sunroof that’s exploded spontaneously.
