General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR, 2007-2010 Pontiac G5, 2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice, 2003-2007 Saturn Ion, and 2007-2010 Saturn Sky vehicles. This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) notified the agency on February 10, 2014 that they are recalling 619,122 model year 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, and 2007 Pontiac G5 vehicles. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine. On March 27, 2014, GM notified the agency that the defective ignition switches may have been used as service replacement parts on other vehicles, and as a result GM will be recalling certain model year 2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, Saturn Sky, and Pontiac G5 and Solstice, and 2008-2011 Chevrolet HHR vehicles. There was a recall regarding the airbag sensor. My airbag light was not on, but I brought it into my dealer for repairs. This car is only driven in the summer months and was driven only a few times after the recall was performed. I park it during the winter. The second time I drove it in the spring, the airbag light came on. I called my dealer and informed them of the issue. They told me that the sensor they had installed was defective and I needed to replace the sensor. The only problem is they refuse to fix it. They said they fixed the recall and that I would have to pay to fix it. They installed a defective part and now want to charge me 733.53 to replace said defective part. It was bad enough that they charged me 193.75 to tell me this. So now I have a car that does not recognize that there is a person in the seat, so the airbags won't deploy. Even if I could afford this repair, how can the dealer refuse to replace their defective recall repair. Especially when it is an essential safety issue.

This is a known failure and a previous recall. The PPS system is a failed design and breaks continuously. Look at all the complaints you have received. This is extremely dangerous and GM should not be allowed to dismiss. Will it take deaths or lawsuits for GM to respond? This is the reason the NHTSA exists. GM needs to be directed to fix with a permanent solution when it involves the failure of airbags to deploy.
