There was a recall regarding the airbag sensor. My airbag light was not on, but I brought it into my dealer for repairs. This car is only driven in the summer months and was driven only a few times after the recall was performed. I park it during the winter. The second time I drove it in the spring, the airbag light came on. I called my dealer and informed them of the issue. They told me that the sensor they had installed was defective and I needed to replace the sensor. The only problem is they refuse to fix it. They said they fixed the recall and that I would have to pay to fix it. They installed a defective part and now want to charge me 733.53 to replace said defective part. It was bad enough that they charged me 193.75 to tell me this. So now I have a car that does not recognize that there is a person in the seat, so the airbags won't deploy. Even if I could afford this repair, how can the dealer refuse to replace their defective recall repair. Especially when it is an essential safety issue.

I have an alarm on my car that states the air bag needs service. I utilized a code reader which indicated there is a failure with the passenger air bag system. I checked for recalls and found one ( NHTSA : 17V061). The vehicle is a 2006 Pontiac Soltice. I contacted three local GM dealers about making a repair. All stated they do not make repairs only on types of vehicles they sell. Thet do not repair Pontiacs. I contacted GM at [XXX]. The representative stated the recall had been completed, which I strongly dispute. I told the representative I have no knowledge of any such repair being performed. The representative generated a case number, case #XXX. She told me it would be up to me to find a dealer to make the repairs. I am totally dissatisfied with the response from GM and its dealers and would ask for any assistance you can provide.
