2008-13 Nissan Rogue/2014 Rogue Select (S35) Driver’s Kick Panel Harness Connector Inspection Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign Reference: R1421 I spoke with Nissan and the recall does not cover my VIN number however I had previously owned a 2015 Nissan Altima and experienced the same issue. My car will be serviced on 2/24/26 with a Nissan Dealership in Hampton, VA for repairs related to this issue. My daughter drives the car while she is away at college. The issue began a few weeks ago when snow and rain occurred and now the bluetooth is going out and now the check engine light appears. I'm pretty certain this VIN should be included in the recall previously issued. The car maybe out of warranty but this appears to be a manufacturer related problem. I'm attaching current video.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, POWER TRAIN
I am the original owner of a 2015 Nissan Rogue (VIN: [XXX] ) with approximately 63,000 miles. After driving for about 20–30 minutes, the engine will suddenly rev up but the vehicle will not accelerate or will barely move when I press the gas pedal. This has happened multiple times when trying to merge, climb hills, or cross intersections. The vehicle loses drive power even though the engine is running and revving. When this happens, I have to move over and wait until the vehicle cools down before it will drive normally again. My Nissan dealer has diagnosed the issue as a failing CVT transmission and quoted about $7,700 to replace it. This behavior creates a serious safety hazard because the car can lose power in traffic, leaving me unable to accelerate to highway speed, climb grades, or clear intersections. I am concerned this may be related to known Nissan CVT problems and believe it should be investigated as a safety‑related defect. Upon entering the vehicle and shutting the driver side door to drive home the back windshield imploded without any warning. The hatch was not used that day and with the shutting of the drivers side door the rear windshield made a popping noise and caved in completely on itself all over the back of my vehicle before the vehicle was even turned on. There were no previous cracks, no signs of wear and the vehicle was only a year old bought brand new. We are currently over the miles on the warranty (barely) and Nissan Corporate advised to take it to a local dealership and the local dealership told me I had to call corporate. No one could explain why this would or could happen to the vehicle. The weather was not frigid nor hot at the time of this event. Nissan is not taking responsibility for a faulty product even after I addressed the current class action lawsuit other Nissan Rogue owners have put up against them for the same issue. Luckily my toddler son was not in the vehicle at the time that this happened in his carseat or he would have ended up with the potential of shatter glass landing on him. Additionally if I was driving at the time that is a huge risk of distraction, crashing, and the mess of debris. There is was no warning, no previous damage, and nothing that anyone has offered to do to help. The quote to get the rear windshield replaced will have to be paid completely out of pocket. I suspect that due to mass producing these vehicles they did not take the time to make sure proper safety measure have taken place. Time stamped photos and a case with Nissan Corporate have been put into place.

VISIBILITY
The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving out of the driveway, there was an abnormal pop coming from the rear of the vehicle. While pulling over, the rear glass shattered. The vehicle was taken to a glass repair shop to have the rear glass repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, while exiting the parking lot at approximately 5 - 10 MPH, the glass fractured and shattered, with pieces of glass falling into the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over into a parking lot and took a photo before returning home and covering the window with plastic. The vehicle was not taken to be repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,652.

The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start and became inoperable. The contact attempted to tow the vehicle to the dealer; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into neutral(N). The vehicle was not towed to the dealer. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V080000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
AEB system engaged momentarily with no external stimulus to cause it to do so. This has happened twice in about the last three weeks or so. The momentary (probably less than a second) response of the system was noticeable but did not cause an accident or other issue. The system dash light also illuminated and then turned off.

The transmission blew in 2023. I purchased the vehicle from Fox Ford (first mistake) and they sent me to the local Nissan dealer to fix it. It was covered under dealer warranty at the time. Fast forward to 1/30/26. My car is fully paid off and I’m driving home from work with my daughter in the backseat and, my worst nightmare occurred; the transmission blew again! The only reason I purchased this vehicle in the first place by the way is because a police officer ran a red light in 2020 and smucked us and didn’t have a single repercussion but, I digress. Anyway, I was able to pull into the median on the highway (luckily I was able to get there and not have the car die in the middle of the highway lane) and call 911 for support. My car was towed to Riverside where it still sits. I don’t have any updated paperwork because Nissan is indicating it’s not covered under warranty even though this is a known issue with Rogues and clearly already an immediate issue to me because it had been fixed previously in this particular vehicle. I would like this safety issue to be known as well as the fact that instead of the dealership and Nissan as a company caring or trying to help me in this process, they’ve had me go on a wild goose chase and the saga continues. I simply want the issue to be fixed and justice to be served so that hundreds of thousands of other families don’t have to suffer. Luckily my husband was able to rearrange his schedule and assist with transportation until I begrudgingly was able to purchase a new vehicle but, many individuals do not have that privilege. What a shame that money is cared about more than human lives.

The car lost power when I got in the vehicle, I had to walk to my daughters school to pick her up. I waited for Geico to give me a jump start. When I received a jump start, the system came up malfunctioned, and could not be driven. When I asked Geico, if I should change the battery, he mentioned that the battery is not a problem. I turned off all the lights before parked the evening before. Picture is attached

While driving the automatic brake stopped the car while turning in a curve. However in another incident I was cut off and brakes did not automatically stop. The brakes works when they want too. Not reliable or safe. Separately, the steering wheel randomly squeaks while turning. It doesn't do it often, every other month or so I will hear the speaking sound.

AIR BAGS
My husband and I were in a head on and sustained injuries to my neck, chest abdomen, and knees. Neither the driver nor the passenger airbags went off during the accident. No lights were present no warning, lights or messages prior to the accident and we were both wearing our seatbelts. I received significant whiplash, bruising, and injuries confirmed by x-rays and feel that the airbags not going off in this collision only made it worse.

ENGINE
I took my car to a Nissan Dealership to remedy recall 25V437. All they did was test drive it and reprogram the ECM. They never even looked at the engine oil per their own remedy instructions.This is not satisfactory and is out of process with the procedure described by the NHTSA. Catastrophic engine failure can occur due to this issue.
