Driving down the road and the left rear passenger window exploded. Shatters went everywhere all over the passenger in the back. I went online and looked and this is a hugh issue evidently with some Kias. To me this is really serious issues that Kia is completely ignoring. Someone will eventually get seriously injured bi the glass exploding like it does.

- #11744310June 15, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I was stopped at a red light. The light turned green, the vehicle in front of me was easily 4 car lengths ahead at this point into the intersection, I then slowly began to accelerate, my car gave me a false collision warning even though there was no car or hazard in front of me, then I brake checked me (initiated my brakes and slammed on them). This could’ve easily caused the car behind me to hit me and fortunately it didn’t. It did however cause me whiplash, very dangerous. I’ve since turned collision warning off all together

2022 Kia Sorento failed to increase speed when accelerator was depressed , engine RPMs increased, but no subsequent speed increase. The Amber ISG light was flashing, with no other warning lights. The car was driven to a safe pull out, placed in park, turned off and restarted, no flashing light. The car accelerated satisfactorily afterwards. This has happened several times in the last two years. Both fuel pumps were replaced as well as the battery and computer systems were reset and the problem still intermittently persists. This is a significant safety issue if the car cannot properly accelerate when required to merge into traffic and properly maintain designated speed. Was told that Kia engineering said this maybe a heat related issue, the car is operated mainly the the southwestern US, Phoenix, Az metropolitan area.

The vehicle is suffering from a chronic, cascading powertrain and fuel management defect that has resulted in a critical safety hazard: sudden engine stalling. Over the last 17,000 miles, the vehicle has experienced three severe engine/emissions failures that the manufacturer has been unable to permanently resolve. At approximately 30,000 miles (on 29-Jun-2025), the engine suffered a severe Cylinder 3 misfire (Code P0303). At approximately 39,000 miles (on 02-Jan-2026), the unresolved fuel issue caused a failure of the Catalytic Converter (Code P0420) and an Evaporative Emission System leak (Code P0456). At 47,000 miles (Current Event), the fuel delivery system failed completely. The engine began running excessively rich (Code P2178), causing the engine idle to drop dangerously low (Code P0506). This defect caused the vehicle to suddenly stall out, resulting in a complete loss of motive power and leaving me stranded. Because the manufacturer's authorized repair facilities have only addressed the symptoms rather than the root cause of the fuel system failure, the vehicle repeatedly loses power and stalls without warning. This poses a severe safety risk to myself and other motorists, especially when operating the vehicle in traffic or at highway speeds.

I am writing to report a recurring issue with the center navigation and infotainment screen in my 2022 Kia Sorento. The screen periodically goes completely black while I am driving. Occasionally, the display glitches before failing, while at other times, it goes dark without any warning. This is particularly concerning when I am relying on the navigation system for directions. I have previously taken the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to replicate the issue and therefore have not yet performed a repair.

The Auto Start-Stop System light came on flashing while driving. Vehicle wouldn’t accelerate while in heavy traffic. Pulled over to the shoulder and turned vehicle off. Attempted to start vehicle again and would not start. Had to get the vehicle towed. Positive battery post is loose and screw is tightened as much as possible.

The vehicles windshield may not be sealed properly or have moisture that builds up between the pressed glass causing reduced visibility and higher risk for crash obstructing the view of both passenger and most importantly the driver.

My vehicle lost power and accelerated quickly yet unpredictably, and the check engine light came on. A local shop told me it was "an old code" for the transmission and that if it does that again to take it to dealer. It occurred again. Kia dealer states this vehicle has a recall and has been repaired twice, but that they will not repair it again. This is such an unsafe issue they will not allow me to drive the vehicle. I will have to pay almost $7,000 to replace the transmission.

Intermittently, when coming from a stop (stop sign, red light, etc) or recent start of the vehicle, the Sorento will not accelerate past approximately 30 miles per hour and the auto-stop light will flash orange in the panel. Once the vehicle is stopped, turned off, and restarted, it goes back to operating as it should and accelerates like normal. This has happened when driving on small, low speed limit roads and on large, high speed limit roads. My safety and the safety of those driving around me is put at risk when vehicles around me are expecting me to drive a certain speed but I can't and am looking for a safe place to pull over to stop and restart the vehicle. To date, the vehicle acceleration has not suddenly dropped from a high speed to a low speed thankfully, but when the issue presents itself, it will not allow the vehicle to accelerate above the 30mph range. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. It is currently at a dealership that is working to reproduce and confirm the problem. There are Reddit threads that discuss other Sorento owners experiencing this same issue. To my knowledge, there were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this issue presenting itself. It has been happening on and off for the last 1-2 years. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others but I am happy to have any of them do so. A simple battery replacement has not resolved the issue - it was happening before I had my battery replaced and it has happened since having my battery replaced.

- #11740604May 28, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Vehicle exhibits repeated brake pulsation and vibration under normal braking conditions, affecting braking performance consistency. The issue began at approximately 10,000 miles and has progressively worsened. The vehicle currently has approximately 30,000 miles. The pulsation is felt through the steering wheel and brake pedal during moderate braking from highway speeds and occurs consistently across multiple driving conditions. The condition is significantly more pronounced when using the vehicle’s adaptive cruise control system. During normal operation, the adaptive cruise repeatedly applies the brakes automatically, and this consistently produces increased vibration and uneven braking response. This indicates the issue occurs during normal vehicle operation rather than abnormal use. The repeated pulsation creates inconsistent brake feel and may affect stopping performance, particularly during repeated or sustained braking events. This raises concern regarding braking reliability and stopping consistency, especially in traffic conditions where adaptive cruise control is actively managing following distance. The condition has steadily worsened over time and is present during routine driving. It is not limited to high-speed or heavy braking scenarios. A manufacturer Technical Service Bulletin (TSB CHA126V) exists for this vehicle model addressing front brake disc judder. The symptoms described in the bulletin match the condition experienced in this vehicle. Given the early onset, progressive nature of the issue, and the involvement of system-controlled braking (adaptive cruise), this condition appears to be related to component performance or design rather than normal wear. Kia response .. Dear [XXX] , Thank you for contacting Kia Customer Care. We do not see that bulletin related to this VIN, as such, any repairs recommended would be the responsibility of the vehicle’s owner. - #11740591May 28, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
VEHICLE: 2023 Kia Sorento, VIN [XXX] , currently 48,000 miles. Vehicle has never been in a collision. DEFECT: FUEL FILLER DOOR ACTUATOR WITH NO EMERGENCY RELEASE — STRANDING HAZARD The fuel filler door actuator fails to release on demand intermittently. When the actuator fails, the door must be pried open with tools or force, which is inconsistent and not always possible. The dealership service advisor has stated that this model is not equipped with any emergency release mechanism for the fuel filler door. With no emergency release, the actuator is the only mechanism by which the fuel door can be opened. SAFETY IMPLICATION: An intermittent actuator failure with no backup release mechanism creates a stranding hazard. If the actuator fails when the vehicle is low on fuel — particularly in remote areas, in cold weather, at night, or in emergency situations requiring refueling to reach safety or medical care — the vehicle cannot be refueled and becomes immobilized. This is a single-point-of-failure design on a system required for vehicle operation. The condition has been reported to the dealership and remains unresolved. The vehicle remains within the 5-year / 60,000-mile basic warranty period. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11740589May 28, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
EHICLE: 2023 Kia Sorento, VIN [XXX] , currently 48,000 miles. Vehicle has never been in a collision. DEFECT: MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH / WIRING HARNESS — OCCUPANT EGRESS HAZARD The driver's master power window switch fails intermittently, causing simultaneous loss of all window operation and electric door lock function. When this occurs, occupants cannot operate any window or unlock any door electrically until the condition resets, typically by opening and closing the driver's door. The condition was first reported to Arapahoe Kia at 24,859 miles on 11/08/2024 (RO 208018) and again at 25,050 miles on 11/15/2024 (RO 208449). On the 11/15/2024 visit, the dealership confirmed the defect on customer-supplied video and performed a full diagnostic including pin tension testing on connector D01, power, ground, B-CAN continuity testing, and a wiggle test of the harness. The dealership's written conclusion on the repair order: "we've determined that the harness is probably not the issue and it will need a new master switch." The master switch was not ordered or installed, and the vehicle was returned with the defect unresolved. The condition continues to occur intermittently as of the current 48,000-mile reading. SAFETY IMPLICATION: This defect creates an occupant entrapment and egress hazard. In a fire, submersion, or crash event where the mechanical door release is inaccessible, inoperative, or where occupants are incapacitated, simultaneous loss of window operation and electric door lock function eliminates secondary egress options. The defect is intermittent and unpredictable. The vehicle remains within the 5-year / 60,000-mile basic warranty period.
