The dealer set an appointment however, the vehicle had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 500. POWER TRAIN
Transmission failed at 3200 miles leaving my family stranded. Car was completely disabled abruptly. Luckily I was able to find people to push my car to a safe location until my tow arrived. This was very scary given the fact I had my three children inside.

On 10/03/2021 I was driving on the freeway, when I heard a pop then a thumping sound. After pulling over, we discovered that the engine splash guard had come undone (again!!!) There were no indicators in the vehicle that this was about to happen. There was no debris on the freeway to have caused the shield to come undone. I believe that there is a definite manufacturing defect in this particular part, as this has occurred multiple times, always while driving on the freeway, and never with any associated cause. The only thing that I think is happening is that the bolts/shield are poorly executed and cannot withstand the wind speed when being driven (I was going around 70 MPH)

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- I have replaced the passenger head light bulb several times, starting summer or 2019, early 2020, fall 2020 and 2021. I recently learned it is not the bulb, it is the wiring connector which this time is damaged I believe by heat. The vehicle is available for inspection. - It is very dangerous driving this vehicle as a single low beam does not adequately illuminate the roadway. This is my wife's vehicle and she is legally blind in one eye. Proper/reasonable roadway lighting is essential. - I tried to purchase the wire pig tail today, was told I had to replace the entire wiring harness, several hundred dollars. I did not have the vehicle serviced. - No warning lights or error codes, the bulb just kept going out and I thought this is odd. This time, instead of just swapping the bulb, I put the "bad" bulb in the drivers side and it worked fine. That is how I determined it was the wiring connector. Closer examination confirmed this. - Trying to identify a less expensive solution online, I learned that this is a well known problem, I would hate to have a vehicle fire and unsure I there is a reasonable repair option.

POWER TRAIN
The transmission is failing after only 6000 miles. The vehicle suddenly and without warning will stop functioning, this happens while driving. The vehicle comes out of drive gear while still running and leaves driver with no ability to move out of traffic. This has happened numerous times over the last few weeks. After researching online it became evident that this is a common problem with the 2021 Kia Sorento. Many consumers complaining of the same thing. My wife was almost rear ended Saturday when the vehicle jumped out of gear and she was unable to get it out of traffic. These vehicles pose a very high risk and probability of causing accidents.

Vehicle caught on fire, beginning in the engine compartment. No warning indications showed on the instrument panel. Driver and two children were able to exit the vehicle and notify the fire department. The fire investigator believes the fire started in proximity of the alternator. The engine has been replaced under warranty by Kia twice.

The contact owns a 2012 Kia Sorento. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the engine replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V224000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Engine seized on the PA turnpike leaving my daughter stranded. Dealer repair costs 19k to replace an engine. Apparently there is a defect that causes a bearing to fail causing major engine damage. There apparently was a class action lawsuit that was settled for the r act problem that I have but just not for my motor. My motor was last serviced by a Kia dealer.

For 2019 model year vehicles, the Class shall include those vehicles that were manufactured before the Knock Sensor Detection System technology was incorporated into their production.

hello my name is [XXX] owner of 2015 kia Sorrento on Sept 19 2021 my father in law and my wife and kids were pulling up on the drive way when they called me and said they smell gas odor from the car i said send me a pic since i was at work .I informed them turn the car off and get every body away be prepared to call fire dept. .when they sent me a video of the car I saw something leaking .so I rushed home to check the problem well it was definite fuel so I opened the hood and removed the plastic cover and started to look around everything looked in place but I noticed a clip was not in it's place the fuel line was out of place I reinserted the fuel line and pushed down on the clip. I wrapped some tape around the clip so it wouldn't come off again .I took it to the dealer on Tuesday for an explanation I was told that I needed a fuel line but they had no explanation on why this happened I ask when you guy's replaced the motor did you guy's break something ? .still waiting on that answer .the whole motor was taken out and replaced with a new one .this happened about a year and a half ago. I called kia to complain and make them aware of this issue .they called the dealer and told me they would get back to me between 24 and 48 hours today is the 28 of sept and still waiting I have called several times but they keep telling me that the dist manager hasn't replied to there emails .I told them this was a serious situation not just for me but others family's as well . I remember a while back ago kias were catching fire while driving this is a safety issue for all Americans . I have attached a news clipping to the pictures. Car ran out of oil within 4,000 of oil change upon purchasing car. No indicator light came on ever for low or no oil. It cut off at 70 mph on highway. I got on shoulder, turned key off then restarted. Upon doing so every time the car gets to rpm level for gear shift it starts knocking. So if the cars engine is knocking the knock sensor should through service engine light which it did not. I have a) the dealer who rode with me to show him and it started to knock and shut off with him in the car with no check engine light on. Got back to their repair shop to which both mechanics witnessed the engine knocking with no check engine lights (MIL. Malfunction indicator light. Failure)

The moon roof is not closing. When trying to close it, it makes clicking noises and goes slow to close but then just goes half way of less and opens all the way up. The inside cover is the only thing that closes. I’ve checked to see if any debris is stuck but nothing is there and I cannot close the window at all.

ABS Traction System and Wheel Speed Sensor - My Sorento has driven only around 37000 miles and has been maintained well on a regular basis. Recently, I noticed tpms sensor light on, and took it for oil change while also asked the service provider to check the tire pressure. The service center personnel identified two tires on the passenger side having lower tire pressure and refilled air, which addressed the tpms sensor light. However, the following day while I was getting ready to take my daughter for a doctor visit, I noticed the abs, traction light and slope align assist sensors being on. While running an OBD2 scanner test on it, it turned out to be an issue with left rear wheel speed sensor. Though my car has gone past the warranty, I have not driven much as can be seen by the miles. Moreover, I also know a close member in my network purchasing a very similar car around the same time, but has driven a lot more miles. However, that car still has not shown any issue with the sensors. While digging further, I noticed that many others have seen a similar issue with these sensors, even after two or three years since the release, that were shared in Kia based forums. Being a safety concern, I would appreciate your department to look into this matter to see whether there is a manufacturing issue with these sensors.

the car is very bad for manufacture the gasket rocker is in bad conditions almost fired my car the oil is allot the liquid inside the my motor .is allo the noise , the dealer can responsibility for recall because kia close the recall is not fair my car is 2016 is dangerous for my family and for my kids almost pay for this car 25,000.00thousand dollars . am pay for the fixed yesterday 336.32, and the car is not work very well .am make the appointment in july 17 and the dealer give me the appointment very late september 23 , and later say is closed the decal ....am very sad now for my car.... and for the money for fixed this car....the car stop in the avenue almost dead for crash the other car with me and my kids.
