FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The AEB and lane departure keeps turning off and saying needs service. As soon as you kill car and start it back up again it will allow you to turn the feature back on. It also turns off at times.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
As the vehicle is driven for longer periods of time (over 45 minutes), the instrument panel and control system for the car freezes and slowly fades out on the audio. Once the audio is faded completely it can no longer play the radio, calls or any alerts. The issue continues with freezing the instrument panel and the lane assist, collision warning and pedestrian sensors stop working. This becomes a safety issue as you can no longer use the hands-free device as your car auto-connects via blue tooth. It is also a major issue as the sensors on the vehicle are not dependable for operation. This happens every time you operate the vehicle for longer periods of time.

After operating the vehicle for more than 45 minutes radio volume fades and can't hear radio and/or navigation, nor make wireless calls. Volume will not work again until car sits overnight. These vehicles are purchased by people that sometimes drive long distances in inclement weather - not having access to these features (such as radio access to hear weather and road closures) is a hazard. As is not being able to hands free telephone access. Problem is widespread, dealers aren't aware of it, don't know how to fix it, and is widely discussed on MyJeepCompass site by owners who are experiencing the problem shortly after purchase.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The vehicle kept telling me that stop start is unavailable service stop start then there would be a battery on the left side on dashboard showing. Then it would say stop safety vehicle will shut off soon. Called both dealerships by my house to see if I can get the vehicle serviced one of the advisers told me the vehicle would not shut down that it would be okay to drive out of town. Brought my jeep into another dealership and their adviser told me the same thing. Last night 12/25 I was able to pull my car into a neighborhood before my vehicle completely shutdown I had it towed to my house.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the dealer previously replaced the PCU and axillary battery, and reprogrammed the TCM; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and then lost motive power with the Auto Start/Stop warning light illuminated and the "Stop Safely, Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" message displayed. Additionally, the parking brake inadvertently engaged while the vehicle lost motive power. The failure occurred on four separate occasions, once causing a minor rear-end collision with cosmetic damage to the contact's rear bumper. No air bags were deployed. The contact did not sustain any injuries, and medical attention was not received. No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle away from the collision site. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but declined to buy back the vehicle under the lemon law. The failure mileage was approximately 5,386.

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
There is a known issue with multiple 2022 Jeep Compass trims and models that, after long periods of driving (about an hour), the volume for all components utilizing sound becomes barely audible even at max volume. This affects all warning systems including blind spot, lane departure, etc. Upon turning off the vehicle for long periods of time (a few hours) the volume will return, but the issue will occur again if driving for an hour plus with short stops. Jeep has acknowledged the concern for over a year on Jeep forums and dealers are not helpful regarding the issue. Jeep states there will be an update to the UConnect system controlling audio functions in Q4 2022. But Jeep has yet to release an update with 2 weeks left to go in the year despite knowing of the issue since end of 2021. I have additional concerns for safety as I have to disengage hands free audio during long drives due to the volume issue causing further distraction and complications on top of not having audio for any other integrated components (like gps, radio, etc.) In addition to the safety features. The drive button on the instrument cluster and gear selector were blinking. The parking brake engaged without warning. While driving the vehicle at slow speeds, the vehicle jerked forward and failed to respond as needed. The contact waited for the vehicle to restart. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 19,900.

The infotainment systems volume fades to the point where nothing can be heard. This impacts: radio, but also Android Auto/Apple Car play for audio alerts, jeep assistance and hands free call functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they confirmed Jeep knows about the issue and it will require a software update - TBD. Meanwhile, my new vehicle is useless for any kind of audio functionality. This is a distraction while driving and poses safety concerns.

I was on the entrance ramp for the freeway and the gas pedal disengaged. I could not accelerate and my car slowed down. A message on the display said to service electronic throttle. This has happened to me twice. My car is barely six months old. I was going 40 mph at the time. Today, I was getting into my car after picking up lunch and as I sat down, the alarm went off for close to 4 minutes. I unlocked and locked the key fob, I started the car and turned it off, and repeated everything about twenty times. I'm in a very public place sitting inside of a car whose alarm won't shut off...anyone could've called the police on me. Someone probably did. The alarm is supposed to shut off at 90 seconds, why didn't it? Why have an alarm that won't disengage? When I press the button to disable the auto stop/start, my car will jerk a few times and a message will pop up to service the auto stop/start. This first happened two days after I got the car (less than 100 miles on car) and it's probably happened close to ten times by now. I'm usually going about 30 - 40 mph when this happens.

Digital display in the center instrument panel can't be seen in daylight. There was not a ambient light sensor input to control the display backlighting for daylight. This missing sensor causes digital display to default to night. So you are unable to see any warnings, gas, temp, menu, cruise control, etc. This display is also tied to the 7" screen and it causes that screen to not be programmable as well. S2208000157 has no replacement part, no remedy. I am driving a unsafe, defective vehicle that can not be repaired. This is documented in the letter I was given by the Service department at Jeep in Foley AL. Jeep Service, Jeep Wave, BBB, lemon law attorneys all say this needs to be resolved by the dealership. They aren't doing anything and consumers need to be aware. I have a video of the screen but it will not upload.mov

SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
This vehicle has two dangerous issues: 1) It brakes unexpectedly and for no reason during drive. This has happened to me at least 3 times while driving on the freeway without any cars close in front or around me. Bells and whistles just go off all of a sudden and vehicle brakes for no legitimate reason, throwing me forward. 2) This vehicle stalls while driving. This has happened to me 6 times. Engine just falls dead while in drive. I have to put it in park and restart the engine. This could get me killed.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Turn on cruise control, press +, hold until the rental car begins to accelerate, and release. Car continues to accelerate. This is not the same as my 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid that accelerates only as long as the button is being depressed. The mileage of the rental vehicle is unknown. I DO NOT wish to receive safety recall alerts from NHTSA because the vehicle is a rental from Enterprise in Lake Park, FL.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, SERVICE BRAKES, WHEELS
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, he heard abnormal grinding sounds coming from the front driver's side wheel area of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance Emergency Braking System and Pedestrian Emergency Braking System was independently disabled. The message "Forward Collision and Pedestrian Brakes Turned Off" was displayed. The contact stated that the Automatic Emergency Braking System would engage inadvertently while there were no vehicles or objects nearby. The contact stated that the emergency braking system engaged while he was depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two separate occasions and the dealer informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown software needed to be updated; however, the part was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

The emergency braking l, collision warning automatically shut off by itself while driving. Occurred 7/12 and 7/20 I have reported this before. Took to the dealer and they could not replicate. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
This is how multiple times this has occurred and the second time I’m reporting this. I entered my vehicle and started the engine. I needed to use GPS to reach my destination, so I was sitting in park while getting everything the address inputted. For no apparent reason I start getting messages: AEB limited Functionality Service Required, I do not have the active lane management functionality either, Service Headlights, Service automatic window wipers etc. I eventually can get these settings to go away by manually turning them on but not this time.
