AC system is not functioning properly. Having the car on for 20 minutes, Ac system does not kick in allowing the car to cool properly. This happens when Temps are above 95 degrees. This is an issue as it could lead to someone passing out as someone is driving a car. As the Temps of outside and inside of the car compound as the cabin can't cool down. Serious issue as a car should cool down with 5 to 10 minutes. Car rarely blows cold air and ahould not be operated in hot environments.

I was driving down the highway and I saw my usb cord smoking, I immediately threw it out the window to avoid a fire and pulled over on the highway. My heart was racing and then I called my mom. She thought it was the AC filter that needed to be changed. A few months later in October, the engine failed. A dealership fixed the engine, but it's still consuming a lot oil. I called Hyundai about the engine issues but I forgot about the smoke I saw. They closed the case on the engine, because they claimed I had no warranty. I have no warranty, because Fairfax Hyundai told me they no longer accept car shield. Hyundai closed my case last month and reopened it on 6/30, because of the smoke. I originally bought the car from Waldorf Honda, in Maryland. Dozens of issues have been reported with this vehicle. On 6/30 I realized that the two back doors also stopped opening from the inside and outside.

- #11529839June 30, 2023SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I took the car to my mechanic to get brake pads because car was pulling to the left upon braking and he informed me the ABS module was bad and was not distributing brake fluid to the right front wheel. I called Customer Care Center for Hyundai and they informed me Tuscan models are not included in the ABS module recall event. Yet the information printed on all hyundai ABS recalls threaten a possible fire safety concern. I want to file a complaint because the ABS brake systems are all the same on all hyundai models. Please address my safety issue asap.

The 2017 hyundai tucson will trap you inside the car. The doors will work intermittently and other times they simply will not open. Even when the car is unlocked. This was recalled on certain models and years but not this one. Huge safety concern being trapped inside the car or stuck outside car.

my 2017 Tucson started using more oil between oil changes back in January/Feb of this year (2023). I took it to the Hyundai dealership I purchased it from & they performed an 'oil test' on it @ that time. It past the test & they told me everything was fine. On Good Friday 4/7/23 I had an oil change, again was told everything looked good & was fine. On Friday 5/12/23 (5 weeks to the day)I was on way home from work, my vehicle started to make a horrible banging noise. Soon as I got home, my husband checked it & vehicle was down 4 quarts of oil. Not one sensor light came on warning me of this either. How in 5 weeks did vehicle consume 4 qrts? I park on pavement and there are ZERO oil puddles under vehicle. I had vehicle towed back to the same dealership, I was told engine was blown and there was nothing they could do for fixing it unless I wanted to pay (no warranty) because I have 117K on vehicle. I also spoke with Hyundai corporate and they told me the same thing. I have a 1.6 GDI engine. That particular one is not recalled (yet) but, it has the EXACT SAME ISSUES as every other Kia and Hyundai that is being recalled. With the complaints & concerns I had with it and its a KNOWN issue for Hyundai motors having this issue, why wasn't I offered a knock sensor to help prevent this? How did vehicle consume 4 quarts in 5 wks & not one warning light came on? How can the dealership/company stand behind faulty vehicles? These are not little fixes and right now, we cant fix ours becuase we cant afford it. We are paying our monthly loan payment on a dead horse, so to speak. I called a lawyer and unfortunately, I was told they cant help me. Someone has to hold these companies accountable for known faulty equipment. I was lucky vehicle didn't catch on fire or it just 'died' and and accident occurred due to it.

My pregnant wife’s 2022 Hyundai Tucson lost engine power while on the interstate with our 16 month toddler in the car. Luckily she was able to get off the interstate and into a safe parking lot. The car only has 23000 miles and has been kept up with Hyundai’s scheduled maintenance from their dealership. The engine is knocking and experiencing rough idle. Once I arrived I was able to read that there was an engine cylinder 2 misfire. About an hour later the “MyHyundai” app sent the same error codes. It took the tow truck driver 15 minutes to go 10 feet to the flat bed as the car would turn its self off. Incredibly dangerous for a car less than two years old. I hate that I might’ve gotten my wife and son such a dangerous vehicle.

Car is 7 months old. We had it less than 2 weeks and a rock hit the windshield and caused a crack, which we had professionally repaired the next day. 3 weeks later another small rock hits the windshield and it cracks to the point we have to have it replaced. 5 weeks later another small item hits the windshield and it cracks and we have to have it replaced again. Today, a small rock hit the windshield and caused a crack that we will be having repaired tomorrow. I have never had a car where we had to have a repair or replacement of the windshield more than once every 1-2 years and this is the 3rd windshield in the car in less than 7 months. My insurance has covered the costs so far except for the time and trouble of me having to take time off of work to go to the windshield place and have it repaired or replaced. I complained to the Hyundai dealership about this situation and the service manager told me "maybe you should drive on a different road". We drive this car 2 times a week on well traveled paved freeways. This is insane and makes me concerned that the glass is too thin potentially being a danger in the case of an accident. Plus when you pay 45k for a car, you would expect the windshield to last more than a month at a time.

Knock Senser failed? On Dec 11, 2022 I was merging onto the highway at 530pm rush hour. I merged over one lane and the car made a loud noise and died. Cars flying past me on both sides dodging me in limp mode. I merged back to the right, there was no shoulder area available, so I coasted and finally came to a clearing on the side. I don't know how we didn't get hit. I ended up on a connecting road to another highway, and the Tow company couldn't find us because I didn't know where we were. It took about 3 hours of waiting for service. I had the Hazard lights on until the battery died. There was no warning except for the loud rattling noise and then boom. The car was towed to CHapman Hyundai in Phoenix, it has taken 5 months to get it repaired. I have 5 months of car rental bills and they still have not reimbursed me.

Door latch suddenly stopped working, making it impossible to open the door from either inside or outside the vehicle. Had this occurred in an emergency situation passengers could have been trapped inside. Hyundai is aware of this defect and has issued a Technical Service Bulletin and purportedly extended the warranty but there is a shortage of parts to make repairs and so they cannot effectively honor that warranty or make needed repairs. NHTSA should require a recall on this problem to inform owners of this potential hazard and force Hyundai to put more resources into correcting the defective latches and possibly avoid unnecessary loss of life.

Oil consumption issues. No warnings of low oil until vehicle goes into limp mode and the check engine light flashes. Issue started in 8/22. I purchased the car used in 6/21. I have done 2 separate oil consumption tests. The last one concluded on June 21st, 2023. The dealership submitted information to Hyundai. Less than a week later, after the dealership filled the vehicle with oil, it is empty. No warnings. It was discovered because we have been checking the oil often. Vehicle has been towed to dealership 3 times since March. Vehicle currently at the dealership due to no oil.

On 6/26/23 I was driving the Tucson. I was stopped at a light in traffic waiting for the light to change. Suddenly the icons on the dashboard turned red and started flashing. A message “Engine Off” displayed and the engine turned off. I was able to turn the vehicle back on and was able to drive. The automatic shut off of the engine while driving presents a safety risk.

My engine failed in my car due to the engine over consuming oil. There is a recall with Hyundai with certain engines consuming to much oil. My cylinder one has completely gone out. Hyundai refuses to fix. It has been down since the end of February early March. The dealership has had my car since April 7

Similar to other owners my car has been burning oil at a higher-than-normal rate. Because of this, there has been a carbon build-up causing my engine to start misfiring and stop working while driving on the interstate.

These people have sold me a car that is burning oil and they refuse to honor their settlement made by a class action lawsuit against them to replace the motors that are in fact burning oil. At first they told me that they would seal the oil and for me to drive 1000 miles and return to them so that they can determine if the car was leaking or burning oil. Upon return they did in fact say that it was not leaking and that it was burning oil but it was "not burning as much oil as it should in order to replace the engine". In what world should a car burn oil? This car is too dangerous to drive, the other day the engine shut down as I was driving it on I75 which put my life in danger due to its lack of oil. I have reached out to corporate and unfortunately no resolution. Should I wait until I get into an accident or the engine completely burns down as I am driving it for it to satisfy their requirements to replace the engine?

On May 12 2023 I was driving my vehicle and heard a knocking sound that was unfamiliar. I pulled over and opened my hood and could hear the engine making a continuous knocking noise. I got back into my vehicle to take it to the closest mechanic and the vehicle failed after I had went barely a quarter of a mile. It took Hyundai almost 2.5 weeks to get an appointment with them and another week to have the car diagnosed. The service department called me and said the engine was bad and needed to be replaced. The car engine was still under warranty so my main concern was how long I had been without my vehicle and the rental car costs I was incurring. My vehicle was finally ready and fixed according to the service department. I went picked up my vehicle and started to drive home. As soon as I started to accelerate I noticed the car seemed to be delayed or was having difficulty accelerating. The ac also started hissing and blowing out hot air. I took the car back to the service department and had to wait another week. Finally get a call from Hyundai saying no issues were found and it passed all the tests. I go pick up the car and less then 24 hours later the car acceleration seems to be struggling and the car is having difficulty going past 50 mph. So now I’m back at square one taking my car that Hyundai says is fine back to Hyundai.
