Rear cross member frame broke in 2 spots due to rust. I’ve searched this and found numerous vehicles with same problem contacted dealer and they said they can’t do anything about it. Nothing yet, but the information sent to me on 11-28-2023 stated that the defect could cause a fire and be quite dangerous, but no remedy has come forth yet. It is unsettling to drive a car which could catch fire while driving or parked. How long do we patiently wait for our cars to burst into flames?

We had previously been to Allen Samuels Hyundai in Jackson, TN for an oil consumption test. We received a call the following week telling us that the mileage was too high for warranty or to continue the consumption test. I was adding a quart of oil once a week. I never had any lights appear for any problems due to low oil or overheating. On a Sunday evening we were returning home on [XXX]. We had the cruise set at 70 mph. We started to lose power and the engine started to shake. The car quit and would not restart. We called for a wrecker to tow us to the nearest shop. We were informed the following Friday that we had low compression and needed to replace the engine. Something should be done due to numerous engine failures. Engine started Knocking took to Hyundai dealer and was informed that the Motor has to be replaced, due to know issues with them. Month goes by was informed that the motors are on back order and that its going to be 6 months or more before they can get my car fixed. No recalls on the motor were sent to me and non are listed on the web site. Was informed that I'm not able to drive it anymore as the motor could freeze up and cause issues.

While driving my car started to have trouble accelerating and then the engine started to make a knocking noise. While driving the noise started to get louder and worse and then the check engine light came on. I have checked for recalls with my vin # and there are none. The issue I am having with my vehicle is exactly like recalls I have seen listed for other years and or version of my 2016 Hyundai Tucson Turbo. I can not drive my car and I need help.

Four days while driving on streets and freeways in Oklahoma City My 2017 Hyundai Tucson turned off and stalled. Lots of lights came on. Luckily I was able to get out of traffic without getting rear ended. I took the suv to local Hyundai dealer and they couldn’t find the problem. The second time I took it to the dealer they replaced sensor crankshaft to clear lights that were coming on. Paid $209.27 for multi point inspection and paid $412.62 for second repair. I’m frustrated because I was without transportation for 4 days. Dealerships did not offer a car for me to drive.

ENGINE
I was driving on the highway at 60mph. I had driven for 30 miles. My car began to shake and would not accelerate. I made my way to the shoulder on the highway and was able to coast down an exit. My engine had died. Right before this occurred the check engine light went on. I still was able to steer and brake. I did get off the highway only because I could tell the car was losing power. By the time I stopped it was dead. I have had my car checked out because of the way it drives. It burns oil at a rate which should not occur. I keep it maintained and in good condition. As I said I have had concerns about the way my engine runs yet have been told "its like a truck" and this model "burns oil" I did not get hurt as I am an experienced driver. I could tell that the engine was failing and was able to get to the shoulder. Had I not i would have been killed as i was on a highway and engine failed. My car is currently at the dealer. It has 107000 miles. It is just 7,000 miles over warranty. There is no reason a car that is taken care of should have engine failure with no signs or symptoms. From what I've read looks like this is a newer problem with 2018 vehicles. I am prepared to supply any maintenance receipts or work done on the vehicle. Clearly there is a safety risk. It also appears its happening once the car has high miles. This is very disturbing, scary and sad that it appears another person actually tried to fight this, and Hyundai won.

On [XXX] I dropped off the car to dealership because engine light was on. They said it was the Catalytic converter and replaced it with about 95,607 miles on it. On [XXX] I was driving on a 50mph road and my speed dropped to about 10mph and then the car began shaking and engine light came on. I got it back up 20 mph to get it pulled over to safety Avoiding an accident. I had it towed back to same dealership and told it was the Knock Sensor and had it replaced. On [XXX] engine light began flashing again and I had it towed back to dealership. Argued back and forth with dealership and corporate on safety and honesty. I picked it up on [XXX] and pulled out of dealership and it began jerking and shaking and lost power on a 45 Mph road stopping traffic and avoiding several accidents!. Had it towed to a different dealership that day and it sat there for months. then finally an oil consumption test was begun but engine light returned and then on [XXX] we were driving on a 50 mph road and the speed dropped to about 10 and began shaking violently and then the engine light came on. This time with my 9 year old grandson in the car!!!! And avoiding an accident. Now with about 113,000 Again we had it towed and then the combustion cleaning was done at dealership. Brought it home still in the oil consumption test and now light back on and dealership is saying not burning oil but now Catalytic converter again??? It is Not SAFE to drive . POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
My 2016 Tucson Sport with Eco Shift has a dangerous problem with the transmission. Intermittently It will not move when I give it gas. The RPMS go up to 6000 but the car wont move. Its the DCT transmission. Today I took it in for the 3rd time and I don't want it back until its fixed. This is a very unsafe vehicle to drive since you would not know when it would just stop shifting and driving. Have registered a complaint with Hyundai Motors as the service department does not know when the vehicle will be repaired.

issues with the 2018 Tucson- Transmission has always sputtered, had numerous updates and resets for it. still an issue. also it doesn't want to go into gear sometimes and bob when going into drive, or reverse. slow pick up from a complete stop, the other morning it became a safety concern when I had my daughter in the car. The car start to move when I stepped on the gas, then stopped in the middle of the intersection of [XXX] four way. The RPM's as I was stepping on the gas was shifting between 5-7 and the car it wasn't moving. Engine- in September I noticed my oil pressure light flashing on and off, this pointed me to check the oil. the oil was very low, added oil to the vehicle. since then I have had the dealer involved due to high oil burning . in [XX] I had an oil change done and no oil was found in the engine after I had placed oil in it prior. they did the oil change and I went back at the end of October and they had noticed my oil burnt off again. they did the combustion cleaning and returned the vehicle back to me [XXX]. Since then I drove 950 miles on the vehicle, Last Saturday the oil pressure light was flashing as I took my daughter to her dance class, I checked the oil and the oil was reading below the low mark on the dipstick. I returned to the dealer that morning for the oil consumption test, in which they said it was only a quart low which seemed odd to me since it was low on the dipstick. I have had corporate involved as well and all my concerns have gone as this is normal for your car. Hyundai has had issues with my Year Tucson, from my research since I started having the issues they have settled a lawsuit for the problems with the engine and transmission which I have in it.my research, as the vehicle ages, the engine burns large amounts of oil and transmission failure, stopping while driving. I turned on a road that the speed limit is posted 55mph and I accelerated up to about 50 and suddenly my speed dropped back to about 10mph and the car began shaking and the engine light was flashing. There was absolutely no warning at all. I had left my house about 15 minutes prior and everything was fine while I was driving up until then. My engine failed. If I had entered an busy highway I would have most likely caused a Major Accident and been killed and/or killed others. It happened around 5:00 A.M. in the dark which was bad enough as I was alone on my way to work. I had it towed to the Dealership and they replaced the knock sensor and assured me that the car was perfectly safe now. But on Dec. 1,2022 I was driving on a 35 mph road and the car did exactly the same thing and I had to be towed again.This time after much arguing the engine was condemned and replaced.

Bought this one (~80K miles) ~Oct/Nov 2022 from a local dealer as a used car (I was the 2nd owner). The oil light was on when I drove it ~1500 miles. I was surprised and went to shop to do my first oil change. I thought probably that the last oil change they just did not top it up. Unfortunately, after it, I noticed that the oil consumption was much quicker than it's supposed to be and required me for oil change more frequently. On 10Feb24 (it had ~97K miles), the car started to vibrate when I started the car. I noticed a "green/blue" fume came out when I stopped/started from a traffic light. On 12Feb24 morning, I drove it to a local dealer, the ~3 miles ride became a horrible experience in my life. The car is shaking and making a terrible noise, the "green/blue" fume busted out, felt no power and could barely maintain ~30MPH speed. It's like you were driving something that going to be exploded. You pictured it. It finally reached the dealer site and I felt the car has delivered its last breath. Thanks GOD that nobody got hurt. Dealer took a look and told me that it would cost $4000 to fix it. I googled this problem and found that many people experienced the similar problem (excessive oil consumption/engine failure). Therefore, I strongly urge that Hyundai and NHTSA take proper measurement to identify the cause and prevent future disaster it may have. For Hyundai, I strongly urge you to read all the complaints on this type of vehicle (2017 Tucson AWD) through NHTSA platform. It's easy to realize that, as of 13Feb24, there are 795 complaints about this type of car, and 379 of them are linked to engine problem. It has a statical significancy and we hold you accountable . For me, I will never buy Hyundai again, and no more "Tucson garlic" dish from my menu because of "Tucson".

On july 2023 i have talk to hyundai about engine stall in traffic n oil burning. i got an oil change two week my engine light n oil light is on before my warranty up but couldnt get my tucson in because no available appointment. Im in traffic at the light it turn green i press gas i didnt go nowhere cause my tucson was stalling i had to quickly put on my emergency light cause i almost got rearend by a car. it finally took off i pull of the road scared out my mind and my grandkids was in the car n crying cause they are scared. As of February 12,2023 issue is still happening 8 months nothing is still been done. Something need to be done asap
