2020 Hyundai Tuscon May I have had numerous incidents where my stereo navigation screen goes black, and then instantly comes back. This happens frequently; whether or not my phone is plugged in. I have stopped plugging my phone into the car. May 1, 2024 As I was backing into my garage this afternoon I started the turn to get into my driveway. I turned the steering wheel tight and it seemed to lock up just like the car had turned itself off. My vehicles main screen went blank along with the stereo navigation. May 16 2024 As I backed into my driveway and straightened my steering wheel position to get into the garage the vehicle screen went black along with the navigation stereo screen I felt the steering wheel tug a little bit along with a knocking noise All lighting quickly came back and then the same exact thing happened again. I then finished backing in and turned the car off. May 18 My husband and I went to the market 1 mile away and as he was backing into the driveway at home the steering wheel locked up then the stereo navigation screen went black and we heard bumping sounds same as before. This happened numerous times in a row going in reverse and forward and we were able to get two videos. After we got the car parked in the garage we tried to open the back hatch to get the groceries out and we were unable to do so manually or with the key fob. At that time, we then noticed that the entire electrical system was down. I then sat in the front seat, tried to turn the car on and it was completely unresponsive. A few seconds later, we were able to open the back hatch along with turning the car on. At this point, we decided to have the car towed in as opposed to driving it in to have it looked at. We have videos of the issue as it happens. But cannot upload to your site

My engine failed while driving on a highway. The engine began ticking, and then completely failed. The tow truck driver reported oil leakage. I towed it to a mechanic and he said it was completely blown and irreparable. He reported this as a recurring problem with hyundai and kia cars that "eat up oil" and then damage the engine. The oil light has not been on, I've gotten regular oil changes and was within the distance of my most recent oil change. But apparently it was leaking, failed to inform me and now I have to purchase a new car or pay for a new engine. I looked up recalls, there are none. I looked up class action settlements and my car was mysteriously not on the list based on the VIN, despite being listed within the model and year range.

I have three doors on my Tucson affected. Back passenger door will not open at all from the inside or outside. The driver’s will open if I lock and unlock three or four times and pull the handle three or four times. The back drivers door is now doing the same thing as the drivers door. I have looked into the cost of having it repaired and Hyundai wants over $1500 per door to fix the issue. If I pay the close to $5000 to fix these doors, which I most definitely don’t have and don’t know anybody who does, I will have paid more than half the value of the car just to fix the doors. I’ve looked online and there are hundreds and thousands of people having the same problem - multiple years of Tucson models and other Hyundai models such as the ELANTRA. My car only has 62,000 miles on it. It has only had two owners. In the six years that I have owned the car I have only had people in the backseat three or four times. This is definitely not a wear problem. It is most definitely a safety issue. If I am in an accident and unconscious and the emergency workers can’t get the door open to get to me, it’s a safety issue. If I’m in an accident and can’t get the door open to escape the car, it is a safety issue. If I am going to my car late at night by myself and can’t get into the car it’s a safety issue. I am divorced and live alone, and drive across country occasionally. If I’m stopped at a rest stop or gas station and can’t get into my car this is a safety issue. If there are children in the backseat of the car and the door can’t be opened to get to the children this is a safety issue. The back passenger door stopped working entirely about 6 to 8 months ago - it can’t be opened from the inside or outside at all. The driver’s door started having issues about 3 to 4 months ago. The back drivers door just started having the issue three days ago. I do not understand why a safety recall has not yet been issued for this problem considering the huge number of affected cars out there.

Engine is being replaced due to excessive oil consumption. First sign was engine knocking in November 2022, which resolved with oil change. July 2023, engine knocking was heard again, Hyundai dealer said car came in with no oil. Had oil changed / filled, was advised to bring car back in 1000 miles. December 2023, brought car back to dealer after ~1000 miles, no knocking but oil was 2 quarts below spec. Ladder frame was resealed and ladder frame o-ring replaced. Oil was refilled, oil pan and oil dip stick both sealed for oil consumption test. Feb 2024, car brought back to dealer after ~1000 miles, no knocking but oil was 1.8 quarts low. Combustion chamber cleaning was performed and oil refilled. Oil pan and oil dip stick both sealed for another oil consumption test. Early May 2024, car brought back to dealer after ~1000 miles, oil still apparently quite low (no details provided by dealer). Engine replacement approved by Hyundai corporate in mid-May 2024.

The Hyundai I just purchased was packaged with BOTH carpeted and rubber mats. Both were priced and charged separately on the Hyundai window sticker. The car cannot be bought without paying for both. It is well known that driving with rubber mats over carpet mats creates a serious safety hazard that will can lead to the mat slipping and the driver losing control over speed and braking. I contacted Hyundai to warn of the safety issue and request a refund for one of the mat types. They basically told me to get lost. I think a safety violation should be issued against Hyundai. I fear someone will get killed because they use both mats in the car since they paid for both.

The components that failed are the engine and transmission and parts associated with the functionality of these parts. It is currently in the shop but will be available for inspection upon request once repairs are complete. My safety and others were put at risk when these malfunctions occurred (driving incredibly slow on the highway could cause an accident, accelerator malfunctioning that might break, broken down late at night hours from home, parts catching fire from leaking oil, etc.). The problems have been acknowledged by my warranty company and the two repair shops that have serviced it. My car was inspected by Geico Insurance Company after I got rear-ended and needed to file a claim, however, the inspection was not specifically on my engine/transmission. The warning dash lights didn’t seem to come on until it was too late, especially during the transmission issue. I was driving around for days leading up to this issue thinking it was acting weird because it was due for an oil change but when I got one and nothing improved, I knew something was wrong. The check engine light did not come on until the car started to actively shut down and not move when I pressed the gas. The full detailed complaint is attached and receipts for repairs are available upon request. Attached is an overview of parts and pricing from the warranty company for the two claims.

I was driving to work Tuesday and noticed that my car wasn't accelerating and losing speed, pulled over and as soon as I came to a stop, it dies. I got it towed to my mechanic, they said I was out of oil and throwing a p1326 code for the ksds. I'm not sure how that is possible, cause I changed the oil a month prior on April 6, this happened May 7. Mechanic put more oil in and I was taking it home. I noticed a funny noise and took it back to my mechanic; got there and it started knocking and cut off as soon as I stopped again. Mechanic did another diagnostic and it threw the code again. Got it towed to the dealership and I'm now waiting on them. Apparently it's the engine, they have been having lots of issues with them.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the ABS, and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) warning lights and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated was able to continue driving; however, the warning lights remained illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the warning lights illuminated and then started flashing. Additionally, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle hesitated before gaining forward momentum. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V543000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

•What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I am not sure exactly what system was involved. But I was pulling in to a parking space on a Washington DC street on Saturday [XXX] when my car suddenly accelerated the steering locked, the brakes didn’t respond and the vehicle mounted a curb and struck a tree. •How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car went out of my control for a few moments, making it impossible to steer or brake. My wife and I were slightly injured when the car struck the tree and if the tree wasn’t there it could have continued on the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian or of the houses beyond the tree. •Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. I reported it to the dealer the day it happened. They said I needed to take it to their service department to be looked at. The facility is closed on weekends – and I will take it in for inspection today, [XXX]. •Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, it has not. •Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there was no warning that indicated there was a problem. After the incident, the car reported the front passenger side parking camera was obscured or broken (this was from the impact with the tree). We bought Tucson 2024 Sel from Stafford Hyundai [XXX]. We were happy new vehicle owner and yourself. Sales told us it will be good for at least few years without any problem after four months and 22 days the vehicle started not running call Chantilly service they connected me with the online service and they suggested us to call Roadside assistant and jumpstart. while we talk with them jumpstart vehicle rolled down the driveway the door was open bumped by the carport wall. Luckily the vehicle stop didn’t damage anything behind other houses or anything. The door was damaged. We don’t want this vehicle anymore. We want return or replace. It’s a brand new vehicle and it’s a life safety issue and I have a special son., bad battery after four months and rolled down the driveway, I want to mention the Service Manager instance of empathy he told us nothing last forever have a bad battery after four months and roll down the vehicle is very normal. He mentioned checked the role down, but Alfred from service said only repair happened bad battery and also Manager said he did inform Hyundai motor corporation. I spoke with the case manager after I spoke with service manager and he said he never spoke with Safford service and no one return his calls. He tried to call multiple times. Gap communication, and false information is giving to us and we purchased this vehicle from here we do not want this vehicle we want return or replacement, otherwise someone has to sign a bond and saying this is safe to drive. If cause any trouble with my family or big accident or death Safford Hyundai service is liable for it. Thank you so much. case created with Hyundai corporation but vehicle in now Safford Hyundai body shop. Hyundai corporation denied the case. I was driving home last week when I came across a large crash on the highway. Traffic was backed up for a mile. I decided to turn around through one of those crossovers and head a different way home. I accelerated to catch up to the oncoming traffic when my car suddenly sounded more loud like it was struggling to accelerate. I got onto the off ramp and my car slowed from 70mph to 40mph and would not go any faster. It began lurching and I decided to try to get off the highway and get as close to home as I could as it was 9pm. My car slowed to a stop and the oil light and engine light and battery light came on. A few moments later the whole dashboard lit up and the car died. I popped the hood and to my horror there was literally no oil in my car. My oil light never came on and my oil change service notice never came on at any point. I took it to a dealership where they told me my engine has blown and needs replacing. This engine experienced the same issues as listed in the lawsuit earlier this year, only my 2.4L was not included as an affected model. This car only has 88,000 miles on it and has had at least 9-12 oil changes. My car was working normally until it shut down, no warning, no lights, and no other issues this entire time I’ve had it. I was broken down on a country road in the middle of the night with no phone service. Hyundai claims my car was not one of the engines affected by the recall or lawsuit, yet my car did exactly what others stated happened to theirs.

End of April/beginning of may, driving down highway check engine light flashing loud knocking and loss of power. Got it towed by AAA. Wasnt able to make appt until May 9th. Got it towed to the Hyundai dealership. Got phone call that is filed the bearing test and need a total engine replacement. Was told by the dealership that it could take 3 months or more to get an engine in and get it replaced. They have no loaners, and hyundai expeacts me to pay out of pocket for a rental for work to keep my job as well as my independent contracting job accounting/taxes. I have to have a vehicle. A rental is easily 1200+ a month. Hyundai refuses to give me a trade in value for my vehicle until the new engine is in. Hyundai also refunded to reimbursement me for a rental until all work is completed and a work order is in hand ( which can be many many months) I dont have money to pay 1200+ a month for a rental and also pay by car payment every month for a vehicle that is stuck at the dealership undrivable because Hyundai installed faulty bad engines. I am stuck and all Hyundai can tell me is that it takes months for the engines. Purchased the vehicle in Feb 2022 and have perfect maintance records, service records and everything else for upkeep. Still owe 15545 on the vehicle and its undrivable. So im paying a car payment on a vehicle that Hyundai made undrivable

When driving All the warning light is on. Also when you reduce speed or stop at the light the steering wheel turn hard to turn or move. The battery seem to be low voltage, because when you lock the car the sound of the horn sound weak. And wouldn't start.
