FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Recently, the emergency braking system has been activated without warning on multiple occasions, including while driving on the freeway and local streets, even when no obstacles were present. This unexpected braking could potentially lead to dangerous situations, especially at high speeds. The emergency braking system unexpectedly activates without any obstruction, indicating a possible malfunction with the front sensor or ABS system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The unexpected activation of the emergency braking system, especially at high speeds on highways, poses a significant risk of rear-end collisions, sudden deceleration, and potential accidents involving other vehicles. The issue has been observed but not definitively confirmed or resolved by the Hyundai dealership, which suggested recalibration of the front sensor without assurance of a solution. The vehicle was inspected by a Hyundai dealership but has not been evaluated by other entities like the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. The issue occurred suddenly and unpredictably on various occasions. My experience is not an isolated case; I have found numerous reports from other Hyundai Palisade owners who have encountered similar issues, with no definitive solution provided. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue thoroughly and instruct Hyundai to offer necessary repairs at no cost, given the potential risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the roads.

SERVICE BRAKES
I have a 2024 Palisade Limited AWD with 3000 miles. When breaking at slower speeds on rough or uneven surfaces the brakes severely vibrate and the vehicle will not stop properly causing possible severe injuries or crash. This happened on multiple occasions but most recently today.

SERVICE BRAKES
Driving slowly in a parking lot, went over a speed bump and the car suddenly started to shake/rumble and the brakes did not work. Almost hit the car infront of me. Very forcibly, applied brakes again which did stop the car. Just did a Google search and others have reported same issue and one suggested to file this complaint with you as apparently Hyundai is doing nothing about it. Car has just over 3000 miles on it and we have had no other issues. We have not brought it to service as it has just happened today. No warning lights came on. This is copied from a post 5 months ago: Hyundai corporate has told me that, upon testing other Palisades, they have discovered that this happens in ALL 2024 Palisades". I do not think this is a safe "idiosycrysity" that all Palidades should have.

SERVICE BRAKES, SUSPENSION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Since around the 1000-mile mark, I have been having an issue sporadically we are when I am breaking and going over either a pothole, an entrance to a driveway, railroad tracks, or in general slowing down toward a stop sign going under approximately 15 miles an hour the entire car loses control and starts shaking. The ABS system or something similar is kicking in at the wrong times and it is perilous and can cause an accident as you have no control over the braking anymore for a few seconds. The entire car shakes in the front end, including feeling it through the brake pedal as well as the steering wheel. I have brought the vehicle many times to my local Hyundai dealership and have been told there is no issue and everything is operating according to how it should when I took the head of their maintenance shop out for a ride and replicated the issue I was told that it is operating normally and despite many people having the same issue online he was told by their back and " Tech line team" to say this is operating normally. Hyundai needs to be held accountable for these dangerous cars as it is only a matter of time before someone loses their life when they cannot control their vehicles braking power during such an incident.

SUSPENSION
Loud clanking/banging/creaking noise coming from rear of vehicle. Both rear shock absorbers replaced and strut insulators replaced at 4988 miles! Back at 37700 for the same issue. I was told by the service tech that the strut mounts needed to be replaced. This seems to be a going problem with Hyundai! Please look into it

I received a call but could not make out the name. I was highly disappointed as my car has been with McDonald Hyundai for a week with no resolution and his call was to tell me what they will not do. He could not tell me one Hyundai would do to fix my car. We are extremely frustrated for the below: It has been 1 week and I don't have a resolution I have spent hours away from work trying to solve your problem I bought a Hyundai because we take great care of our cars and drive them forever. We currently own: 2015 Infiniti QX60 - 232,000 miles 2011 BMW 535 - 123,000 miles 2016 Toyota 4Runner - 132,000 This Hyundai replaced a 2013 Ford Explores at 220,000 I bought this for reliability and serviceability, warranty - but the car is not reliable, cannot be serviced and you state can't do under warranty. the car is 14 months old and was bought new The Service Director Kevin at McDonald said he can never guarantee he can fix the issue and said he will never know of unknow issues. Message boards are full with people that have the same exact issue and Hyundai denies this and never finds the issue. Read the links below! Issue: ABS Brakes Safety Issue: Almost crashed into gas station Manufacturer Contacted - Not Yet. No Warning lights or errors on dash. Incident: Unexpected ABS Activation and Reduced Braking Effectiveness Date: October 28, 2024 Time: 5:30 PM CST Location: Pelham, AL Weather: Sunny and Dry Description: On several occasions, I have experienced unexpected pulsating of the ABS brakes while driving over rough, paved roads at speeds below 15 mph. In previous instances, this occurred while approaching a red light or stop sign, and I was able to stop safely. However, today, while pulling into a parking space at a Chevron Gas Station in Pelham, AL, I encountered a similar issue. The pavement was dry, uneven, and rough. Despite traveling at only 10 mph, I was unable to stop effectively within the parking space. The vehicle did not slow down as expected, and I felt as though the rear brakes were solely responsible for bringing the vehicle to a stop at the last moment. Increasing pressure on the brake pedal had minimal effect on slowing or stopping the vehicle. I have been driving for over 37 years and am very familiar with the sensation of ABS brakes activating in emergency situations. In this instance, the road was dry, and the braking was very gradual, so there was no apparent reason for the ABS to engage. This issue has only been observed on dry, rough, paved roads. Notably, the ABS pulsation continued even after transitioning from the rough pavement to a smooth surface.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I was approaching a stop sign, slowing down to around ~20 mph, then gently applied the brakes. All of a sudden, the car stared to lurch forward and the steering wheel shuddered violently as the ABS braking appeared to kick in. As the brakes were applied, the vehicle kept bouncing forward in spurts rather than stopping and it took almost twice as long to stop than it should have. There was a vehicle in front of me and my vehicle was a foot from rear-ending that car despite me slowing in advance and attempting to brake gently. The collision warning system kicked in and I suspect that the vehicle stopped itself, even though I was firmly holding the brake pedal down. My wife experienced te identical situation a week later, so this is becoming very concerning. A quick search on the internet has revealed that many other 2023 & 2024 model year have experienced the same issues, and apparently Hyundai USA is aware of the issue, but do not have a solution to fix it yet.

Paint started chipping… Dealer stated it was from a rock, however a rock chip doesn’t cause a whole section of paint bigger than a quarter to just flake off.. ironically there was another vehicle on the lot having the same issues . Picture is included.. Second issue is the engine It makes a grinding noise when driving almost like the cams or transmission is going to go bad, but i think it’s the timing chain. Lasty the suspension it has clicking noises that cannot be resolved.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
When driving the car normally suddenly there was an extremely loud sound above us. After pulling off the road and inspecting the vehicle we saw that the front sunroof had shattered. Fortunately the bottom cover had been closed else the glass would have fallen on the driver and passengers and very well could have caused an accident and/or injuries. The remaining glass was bowed upwards and there wasn't any foreign objects inside the roof. At the time of the incident there were no other vehicles around us nor were we under any trees or highway structure. We brought the car to the dealer who claimed that something must have impacted the sunroof however that is not the case. The sunroof glass spontaneously just shattered without any warning. There had been no cracks or chips in the sunroof glass at the time.

My Hyundai Palisade engine light came on and started missing. Engine was making a rattling noise under hood and felt like it was going to die, Took to Dealer and code p0087 p219e were low and inbalanced also 3 fuel injector was bad and 1 cylinder was bad that was on 12-8-23 on 12-21-23 when going uphill it downshifts and noise from hood engie sputter and acts like its going to die , Also rattling under hood. checked code engine oil pressure too low oil was 4 quarrts low no leaks found topped off and marked drain plug , wanted me to drive for 1000 miles and bring back in. at no time did my oil light come on when it was low. 1/8/24 took it in cause it had used oil oil housing unit was leaking they replaced that and they did a oil change on it said i needed to come back in 1000 miles 2/6/24 oil check combustion chamber cleaning vehicle used 069 quarts of oil in 1,164 miles 2/8/24 when driving it has no power or shift. 2/26/24 got in vehicle and the speedometer that told miles per gallon was at 5.0 and was going up to 10 and back down i took it and dropped it off at the dealer and have had every since. i have been waiting on a new motor since 2/26/24 it is now 10/24/24 i had to drive my car for 1000 milles several times for with these issues. i could of caused an accident or been hit. this put my life in danger and the lifes of my family. i have documents to prove this as well At this time saleman were trying to get me to trade my car in i have numerous text, calls and emails i had to get rude with them so they would leave me alone. i have been having issues since December 2023 its now October 2024 i still do not have my car, i have been making payments. They say they cant tell me when they will get the parts to fix my car, they are on backorder,. i have been in touch with Hyandai America. They have not got any issues resolved either. i contacted them in August of 24 . i feel like i am just getting the run around.

Child safety lock failure. Child safety locks click on and off continuously for 20 - 40 seconds. After the lock stops doing this, the following message appears on dashboard: "Child safety lock failure". This occurs randomly and can occur while driving or parked. Frequency has increased since it first started occurring.

The radiator has a leak no warning lights went on but the back up reservoir was empty the car started to gurgle multiple times after driving the car for a long road trip we heard the bubbling sound checked under the hood and see pink radiator fluid on the underside of the car and pink corrosion on the radiator itself.

Driving on a gravel road (with small pot holes and bumps) down a slight hill caused my brake pedal to shudder making it impossible to slow to a speed I felt comfortable with. I had to remove my foot from the brake pedal and step on it as hard as I could to slow down. This is a serious safety defect and the issue needs to be investigated especially since many consumers have submitted similar complaints.

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while attempting to stat the vehicle, the instrument panel was inoperable. The contact stated that the screen on the instrument panel appeared blank with no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the instrument cluster had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,237.

SERVICE BRAKES, SUSPENSION
WHEN BRAKING ON BUMPY ROAD THE BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE CAR AND CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND IT STOPS ABRUPTLY AFTER MOVING SEVERAL FEET. CAR IS AT RISK OF HITTING A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IN FRONT OF CAR. DEALER REPLACED ONE STRUT THE BELIEVED WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM PERSISTED AND DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE SO THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE 2ND STRUT. SEEMS LIKE THE SOLUTION IS REPLACING THE STRUT BUT DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE AT NO COST. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. NOT SURE IF THE STRUT IS THE SOLUTION OR IF ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM IS FAULTY.
