after driving for about an hour, then making a brief (10min) stop at the store, car would crank but not start. After allowing car to cool for ~2 hours, car started fine. Seems to be a fuel pump issue. concerned with future loss of power. car is 5 years old with ~50k miles

The contact owns a 2018 Honda HR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The multi-information display screen in the instrument cluster continues to malfunction constantly. The screen will either flicker and go in and out or not display entirely. The screen outage can last long periods of time, sometimes weeks before displaying properly again. The following important information can not be retrieved including the odometer, fuel gauge, Engine oil life, and clock among others. The issue began in 2022 (two years into the vehicle's life) and has been a constant issue to the present time. The dealership admitted this was a common problem in certain Honda vehicles but didn't offer a fix other than replacing the entire instrument cluster with no guarantee that the problem would return.

Warning light keeps coming on the gauge saying clean windshield or your safety features will not operate. Comes on as soon as I drive car into my garage. Came on even after washed the car by hand. Been to the dealer twice and the second time they changed the camera in the windshield. Light came back on 3 days later. There is an electrical issue because the rear led cargo lights remain glowing even after turning off car. This was also addressed at the dealership. This is definitely a safety concern is my safety features will not operate if “windshield is dirty “. The car has only 1800 miles on it.

POWER TRAIN
The cap to the transmission came out which apparently is an issue with the cap getting smaller and popping out which made the oil all come out of the top and covered the parts in the car. This caused the vehicle needing a new transmission now!

Odometer display doesn't work. It comes on only after driving a long distance. Doesn't help to know how much fuel is remaining or when I take it for emission test where they need to see odometer reading. I have seen many user complaints on the same topic. I took it to two dealers - Honda of Chantilly and Tysons and they said it's not something they can fix and asked me to find a local mechanic.

Had just parked my car at work and suddenly the back windshield shatters with a huge bam! Sounded like a gun shot. I called the police and they say it had to of spontaneously shattered with no previous damage. It was terrifying

The car does not have pickup when attempting to accelerate. Driver must drop the gear down to try and force acceleration. Vehicle was taken to dealership and dealer wanted to charge to diagnose the problem. When it was stated that symptoms mimic those outlined in recall, dealer stated they still need to diagnose to see if the repair is needed. After checking dealer claims debris was blocking the pedal and the problem is not related to recall. However, the pedal was clear of any debris and still drives with loss of power when trying to accelerate.

The recall letter states: 'If you believe that American Honda or the dealer has failed or is unable to remedy the defect in your vehicle, without charge and within a reasonable period of time (60 days from the date you first contact the dealer for a repair appointment), you may submit a complaint to the Administrator..... www.safercar.com' I requested a repair appointment using Honda Auto Center of Bellevue Washington's online system. I received an email reply that parts were not then available. More than sixty days have gone by. I am making the complaint as advised by my recall letter.

These system indicator lights repeatedly show on the dashboard. 1. Brake System 2. ACC LKAS 3. Land Departure Problem 4. Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate: Clean Front Windshield 5. Lane Keeping Assist Problem LKAS 6. Collision Mitigation System Problem 7. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 8. Auto High-Beam Problem 9. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem I have taken the car to two different Honda dealerships for diagnostic. The mechanic speculated it 'could' be a battery issue so I purchased a new battery. The problems didn't resolve. Then the mechanic stated it 'could' be the camera system and if so, I would need to replace for $1800. I cannot afford to spend $1800 for speculation and there's no guarantee the problem is resolved. This is a serious issue with Hondas as I have read. This is not a wear-tear issue. This is a system issue and I don't feel I should have to spend $1800 on a system malfunction. It's not the windshield containing dirt or debris because I've had the windshield cleaned in hopes it would remedy the problem. The car is only 3-4 years old and I shouldn't be spending major dollars on any kind of system issue. This should be a recall effort since so many others have had the same complaints. The car is too new and it only has 53K miles on it. I'm the only person who drives the car mainly to and from work. I go out of state maybe twice per year so the car is not driven harshly. I also keep current with maintenance requirements. Paying $1800 for a faulty camera speculatively is a cruel way to make money off of purchasers. I'd like to have this issue considered as recall.

All sensor warning lights came on the dashboard. Car would not move. Code showed no gas (tank was full). code for emergency brake (not engaged). Service department. of Honda dealer finally diagnosed fuel sensor getting stuck. Dealer said they would order part and replace it. They never ordered part and will not return our phone calls. They said they would talk to Honda to see if this model Honda was having this problem. No feedback. This situation has happened several times over the last 10 months. Usually happens when parked with engine running or moving very slowly. We turn off car for a few minutes. We are then able to move vehicle. Sensor lights eventually go off. We are afraid to go far from home because we never know when this will happen and if we can get it moving again. This car has about 31000 miles on it.

My local dealership has not been able to fix my recall issue with the passenger seat weight sensor for the airbag and all they said for a remedy is have people sit in the back and to wait in the mail for when the part is in stock. I am a college stupid who has to travel 18hrs to get to college. how am I suppose to drive comfortably knowing the sensor may not work in the chance of an accident happening. It is sad that I am not able to fix this recall issue since it was made aware in early February.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel failed to operate properly. The contact stated that the fuel gauge display was unavailable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer; however, the dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

I left my car in the Fort Lauderdale airport parking garage for one week. When I came back from vacation the car started, pulled out of the spot and then refused to move. I had to have it towed for $700 all the way to my home in palm beach gardens. 52 miles at 7pm. This happened in July of 2023 and there is still no parts available to replace the faulty fuel pump.

The gauge cluster display will go in and out. There is apparently a faulty solder joint that gets affected in cold weather and until the car is warmed up the gauge cluster stays blank. I was informed that I need a new one at the cost of $1800+ for a 2019 HRV with 24000 miles. It seems very wrong that this part has failed.
