Chipping paint from the hood and drivers por and all four passenger doors have chipped paint and the bare metal is exposed. Started happening a couple months after I bought the vehicle and progressively getting worse. I have taken it to the dealer at Checkered Honda of Virginia. They said this car didn’t have any paint recalls but they mentioned some Honda civics and accords had paint issues.

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
breaks, control of vehicle staying in lane -lane departure failure, door locks, auto remote failure, multiple warning lights system failures on dash, vehicle lights. car has gone off road, right on highway (right lane) and left on highway to middle lane, almost hit other vehicle. Dealer put new batteries in remote (second new set) low battery alert 2 hours later, remote failure. passed diagnostic scan. (southern honda, Savannah GA) Since then the info-system I believe to be hacked. I found vin number and other "computer" listings in vehicle including wi-fi enable, phone numbers not belonging to me, web sites, etc, I was able to remove and I reset to factory settings twice. The Honda link has now activated itself, selections "grayed out" (I always used apple/car play honda link was never used. My I phone was then hacked, hackers have complete control remotely over the phone live time, able to see screen and make changes. I am now in atlanta, I contacted dealership here where the vehicle was purchased. I also asked for the Honda Link to be turned off and if needed to please turn off/disconnect the system for safety if they are unable to remove/install "non hacking software?". Was told Honda link was not activtated, and I would be responsible for repair charges "if determined not covered under my warranty. Auto is not safe to drive, I do not have finances to pay for repairs, was unable to leave the car. Informed dealership that I looked up Honda link and activation/deactivation requires app/account which I never had nor do I know how to do. Technician indicated he did not know what I was talking about. I need assistance. I cannot receive e-mail hackers intercept

My doors have defaulted to the lock position, even when the vehicle is occupied. The electronic unlock system will not permit the car to unlock. The manual lock strongly resists being moved to the unlock position. With much force, it can be moved, but immediately relocks. The only way to exit the vehicle is to force the manual lock to unlock while simultaneously pulling the handle to open the door. This is an extreme safety hazard - as one cannot easily exit the vehicle. Upon entering the vehicle, an older driver, a less strong driver, or partially disabled driver would be trapped in their vehicle with only emergency procedures able to free them. If there were an accident, and the airbag were deployed - it would be impossible for an able bodied driver to get both hands to the door and initiate the sequence necessary to exit the car. One would be trapped. An incredibly dangerous situation. I see the door actuator has been recalled on other Honda models - so it is a known issue with the manufacturer. The contact owns a 2018 Honda Fit. The contact stated that on various occasions while his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with the ABS, traction control, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle failed to restart and was towed to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated, and the fault codes were cleared. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector and spark plugs needed to be replaced; however, only the fuel injector was replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred, and the vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that his wife was able to pull over and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to Honda of Hackettstown (48 US-46, Hackettstown, NJ 07840) where it remained awaiting further diagnostic tests and repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

While driving car the electrical system failed with all safety lights on dashboard turning on. When system goes off the ABS braking system, traction control, and power steering fails. Also noted engine misfiring. This happened when driving on hiway my wife drives the car to work on the hiway this has been a ongoing issue and we have had it to honda 5 times for this exact problem every time except for this last one the say they can not duplicate the problem on the 5th time they wanted to charge her 1300 to fix it but it was covered due to the same issue that has happened just a few months after getting the car something has to be done before we get hurt in the car we are in fear for our safety this happens on the interstate and i have to crawl off the road praying this has been hpping evry few months we contacted honda america and got no help

All honda fits have a massive water penatration issue. Water leaks from even small amounts of water from rear lift hatch from cracks in the weld seems an into car along inside on both sides in to the wheel well with spar tire. This causes high humidity and consequently massive damageing moister and rusting inside. Found to compromise electrical for tail lights and Hazzard lights. Also causeing massive sweating of water vapor that leads to obscure of ability to see through rear window and through all windows. Also massive threat to elderly and children and immune compromised people because toxic mold growth is likely to form. Honda refuses to repair say they don't care how many die because of issue. Children almost killed due to inability to see through rear window.

STEERING
The steering wheel locks when I park the car and turn the ignition off. The steering wheel stays locked (warning light) when I turn the key in the ignition and the car does not start. Now it stays locked about 90% of the time. The solution (found online, from other drivers) is to take the key out of the ignition, gently turn the steering wheel to the right, then to the left several times; put the key in the ignition & start the car. I sometimes have to repeat the process several times before the car starts. It makes me feel unsafe when I can't start the car and leave an area quickly. I have not reported the problem to the dealer, and it has not been inspected. But I will report it because it happens so frequently.

POWER TRAIN, ENGINE
I have noticed a grinding/rattling when starting my Fit from a cold engine. I have taken the car to the dealership and mentioned the noise - they recommended getting a new battery. Afterwards the noice was still happening. I took it in again and stated theres a rattling sound on a cold start. The dealer said that couldn't replicate it and probably related to the exhaust system. Now I have taken it in once again because the noise is getting worse and not just on cold starts and at this point they inform me that it's the VTC Actuator. Upon hearing this I googled the part and this is a long running issue for Hondas and there have been several service bulletins about it. The VTC Alternator has cause the timing chain to stretch in some vehicles according to this search which then can cause total engine failure. I do not feel safe driving a car that has been having issues with the VTC Actuator for years and Honda has not be held accountable for this.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I have had my Honda fit for almost 7 years now and every winter I have an issue with the ADAS system. The car will throw a warning saying the sensor is obstructed and to clean off the windshield. Every time I check to make sure there's nothing obstructing the sensors. If I had to guess, the plastic covering is trapping heat from warming up the car and fogging the glass but I can't do anything about it since the plastic is not removable. It seems like a flaw in the design that operating the car with the heat on in winter can cause issues with the ADAS.

The air bag light flashing saying airbag is off. The electrical system shut off, radio flashed on and off. The steering lost its power and the head lights shut off then everything would come back on. This happened multiple times, I could not control the steering, very unsafe and scary. Car is available for inspection upon request.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
There's an electrical defect on the 2019 Honda Fit dashboard. The Electrical part of the dashboard that shows the Odometer, fuel level, speed and temp glitches, especially when cold. I bought my vehicle in March of 2022 form a Honda Dealership. It happened a few times towards the end of the 2022 when it became cold in Los Angeles. But as its been cold the first few months of this year, it has happened much more often. It glitches (see attached image.) and sometimes does not come on at all (see attached Photo) This is a safety hazard as I can not see how much fuel I have left in the vehicle. My car is just passed my 1 year dealership warranty. There are many forums online of others reporting the same thing, that priced the repair at $1100. I filed a complaint with Honda, but the costumer service with the repair department said there aren't other records with them- that this is an issue which is false as I have found 100s of owners online complaining online, asking about what to do about it.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated while his daughter was driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and there were abnormally loud sounds coming from the engine. The contact's daughter was able to drive to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an oil change; however, the mechanic diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the variable valve timing control (VTC) actuator was damaged, causing metal fragments to damage the engine. The dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

Intermittent problem with gas gauge going totally blue with no display of information. No prior problems. Recently started and have not been to dealer about it. To date, has not lasted more than 20 minutes before returning to normal, with all info displayed. Without that gauge, the possibility of running out of gas on interstate or other busy road is highly likely and very dangerous. Usually happen when I start car. There is no warning.

my fuel gauge display went out. Pretty much always at least once a trip. Sometimes it starts when I turn the car on, sometimes it's after I've driven 20 miles. The display stays backlit, but all the information (time, fuel gauge, odometer, temp) disappears.

ENGINE
When attempting to start the vehicle, especially on cold mornings, I hear a grinding/rattling noise almost like a grinding clink. I think there is a problem with the starter similar to recalls for other Honda models.
