Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Pilot, and 2024 HR-V, Acura Integra and Acura Integra Type S vehicles. The driver's seat cushion frame may not have been tightened properly, which can result in an unsecured seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V vehicles. The front seat belt pretensioners may be missing the rivet that secures the quick connector and wire plate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," 209, "Seat Belt Assembles," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

On XXX, about 8:30 a.m., in clear, sunny weather, I was turning my 2024 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid into a marked parking space. My foot was off the accelerator; I applied light brake pressure while the vehicle moved under 5 mph. Without warning, it suddenly and spontaneously accelerated at high speed. Within seconds it drove over a concrete parking stop, traveled through dense landscaping, and collided into a palm tree that prevented it moving forward. I immediately powered it off. The airbag did not deploy; no warning message preceded the acceleration. Before repair, Germain Honda scanned the vehicle; May 28 invoice the Shop Foreman and a Honda District Parts & Service Manager inspected it. The report’s Page 1 checklist all items marked green "Satisfactory" and no damage noted in vehicle diagrams. This is not reconciled with the packet's Lighting "NG" and B1036 results or estimates documenting a shattered right headlamp. The invoice attributes many codes to headlight/bumper impact but identifies neither the codes nor the basis. Native HDS data was not provided. Pre-repair records from Germain Honda (May 28), Caliber/ProTech (XXX), and Crash Champions (XXX) record DTCs/faults involving propulsion/powertrain, braking, network, steering, driver assistance, restraint, and body controls. They do not establish when findings arose or whether any caused or contributed to the event. After repair, on XXX, Honda of [XXX] reported zero DTCs. The precise cause remains unknown. I believe Speed Control, Brakes, and Fuel/Propulsion System most likely caused or contributed to the sudden spontaneous acceleration, complete loss of control, crash, and vehicle damage. If this same event occurred at a stop sign or stoplight, significant injuries and potential fatalities would have occurred to myself, or any pedestrians, animals, and vehicles in its path. Subject of Complaint: Sudden, simultaneous failure of critical safety and driver assist systems originating from an electronic sensor/control module failure inside the electronic power steering (EPS) gearbox. Description of Safety Hazard and Dashboard Indicators: While operating the vehicle, the Driver Information Interface (DII) suddenly illuminated with multiple critical safety faults simultaneously. The primary indicator was the amber Electric Power Steering (EPS) System Problem warning light (steering wheel icon with an exclamation point). Due to the electronic architecture of the vehicle, the loss of reliable data from the steering gearbox caused a cascading failure across the Honda Sensing safety suite. The dashboard displayed a sequence of distinct system errors, explicitly disabling: Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Problem Safety Risk to Occupants: The unexpected failure of the EPS system immediately compromised the vehicle's handling characteristics, significantly increasing the steering effort required to control the vehicle. Furthermore, the simultaneous and total disabling of the Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control systems unexpectedly stripped away active crash-avoidance features. This sudden degradation of vehicle control and driver-assist capabilities creates an immediate, severe collision hazard on public roadways.

Car lost power while driving and came to a slow stop, was unable to accelerate. This was dangerous and I was on a relatively busy street will a small shoulder. Car made no noises or gave any warnings prior to this issue. Car engine was eventually able to powered back on, engine light now shows, along with power system light

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the electronic power steering seized, and the vehicle became difficult to maneuver. The contact depressed the brake pedal and stopped the vehicle. The vehicle failed to return to normal operation. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic power steering module had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
