The back up camera failed at 36200 miles and the dealer will not fix. I see there was a recall on 2021 models due to bad cable.

- #11660978May 14, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I am filing a complaint about my 2024 GMC Acadia AT4, leased brand new from Frank's GMC in August 2024, now with a little over 8,000 miles. The brake pads are worn to 35% life, far below the expected 30,000-70,000 miles, with loud squealing, fluid leakage, and odors. This poses a severe safety risk to my family and others, as compromised brakes could fail. In October 2024, before my 3,000-mile oil change, I reported brake concerns to Frank’s GMC service manager, Javier, who advised waiting. After the November 2024 oil change and tire rotation, only three months after obtaining my vehicle, Javier claimed no issues, despite my prior warnings. The problems worsened, with squealing, leakage, and odors persisting. My March 19, 2025, service appointment was delayed, calls ignored, and follow-ups never occurred. Sales manager Khaled stated that owner Frank confronted Javier about avoiding service issues, yet no action was taken. I contacted ten GMC service departments in PA, CT, and MD; they reported similar AT4 brake issues, some citing total brake failure. I spoke with GM corporate supervisors, who referred me back to the dealer. Frank’s GMC inspections overlooked my concerns. A local police department safety inspection unit confirmed the issues, but no manufacturer or insurance inspections occurred. The vehicle is available for inspection. I urge NHTSA to investigate this premature brake failure and ensure the 2024 Acadia AT4’s safety. The email screenshot I included was sent in April. I contacted the same GMC dealerships that previously reported no issues to check for updates, and they confirmed a change. All of them now report the same problem with brake pads and/or brake failure. This issue is covered under warranty and should be replaced without issue, but dealers are not complying. If overlooked, this could become a national concern

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Acadia. The contact stated there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the vehicle while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the brake pads were replaced; however, the failure returned several days later after the repair. In addition, the contact stated that transmission fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The contact also stated that both taillights had failed to operate as needed and the message "Check Left Rear Turn Lamp" and "Check Right Rear Turn Lamp" messages were displayed a day apart. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the mechanic confirmed that there was a transmission fluid leak due to defective bolts. The dealer also replaced the rear taillights. The contact was also informed that there were no issues with the brakes, even though there was a noise coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The Vehicles engine siezed at 6,400 miles leaving us stranded on the side of the freeway for 3 hours and GMC is trying to PIN the blame elsewhere. Car has been in the shop for 3 weeks and they are unsure if it will be covered by warranty. The only thing done to the car was an oil change performed at a GMC dealer.

I was driving down the road and all the sudden my breaks locked up. Like I had to stand on the break with both feet for it to barely stop. After getting it to the repair shop they said my vacuum pump exploded. My problem is it’s very well taken care of car and absolutely no warning light was on. I had no warning at all just all the sudden wouldn’t stop. Now I’m 7,600 in the hole because of this and very upset my not even 5 year old car is having these problems.

My Acadia has had a stuttering problem and we have taken it to the dealership many times. They finally changed the torque converter but that didn’t fix it. Now today (4/15/25) I got home and I was getting a steering assist reduced error code and then when I turned my car off the fan went as high as it could and wouldn’t turn off. Finally after a bit of time it turned off. I got my car 4/28/22

I have had my 2025 GMC Acadia Denali for 1 week with 336 miles on it. When I went to start it on the evening of [XXX], I felt the brake pulse. Then the dash lite up with message to Service ESC. The brake icon was lite up red and ABS was lite up yellow color. I took my vehicle to our local Jeff Fender GMC dealership the next morning. The service tech did a brake pressure test which passed. He cleared the codes. When I went out to leave the dealership, the codes came back on. The service tech said it is NOT safe to drive because my brakes can fail at anytime. Service said they need to replace the master cylinder. With this issue, my brakes could fail & a horrible crash could occur causing injuries and/or death. Service rep told me this has happened to a new Yukon too. My husband called the dealership in Lake City, FL, where we purchased the Acadia from & spoke to a service rep. He told my husband he has seen this in Yukons, Terrains & Sierra pick up trucks. This brake issue with the master cylinder should be a recall due to the potential dangers of a horrible accident that can occur if the brakes fail. While driving the engine cut out. I wasn't able to get the vehicle off the road and had to put in an acceleration lane until I could get a tow. Other drivers entering the roadway were accelerating and some didn't realize that my road hazard lights were on and almost hit me. The vehicle was given a diagnostic check by a service station and say that the Fuel Pump Power Control Module is not working. After checking the Internet I found a recall for this item on other GMC models but not the Acadia. There was no advance warning for the malfunction.

I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle from the day I purchased it. I should have been more leery of purchasing a vehicle with so few miles on it as a certified vehicle. First issue lift gate wouldn’t work. Had to have sensors replaced twice. Next was the purge valve sensor that has went bad 3 separate times. Then the crankcase vent sensor. Paid a fee for diagnostics, it was not repaired took it back when the engine light came back on, they replaced it without charging but I was advised it’s not covered under warranty. And most recently my check engine light came on yet again today now reading an issue with the engine cooling system. Unfortunately the dealer is so booked out, my only option is to drop it off and hope they can get it in by a cancellation or no show. Seems there are new issues ever 3-6 months with the car.
