SummaryMercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz Vans, has determined that on certain Sprinter and Metris vehicles, the B-pillar certification label might not contain information on the vehicle's rim size, tire size, and cold tire inflation pressure required under FMVSS 110 or, as applicable, FMVSS 120. In this case, relevant regulatory requirements might not be met. Mercedes-Benz believes this issue has no impact on vehicle safety. Mercedes-Benz intends to submit a petition to NHTSA for exemption from the notification and remedy requirements of 49 U.S.C. chapter 301, pursuant to 49 CFR Part 556, on the basis that this non-compliance is inconsequential as it relates to motor vehicle safety. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign to remedy new vehicles in dealer inventory. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace the Certification Label on the affected vehicles.

SummaryComplaint A: The engine is jolting/bucking between 1700 and 1900 rpm. Complaint B: One or more mechanical related fault codes for EGR Valve stored in CDI control unit, with possible Check Engine Light. Review list of mechanical fault codes in table below. Complaint C: One or more electrical related fault codes for EGR Valve stored in CDI control unit, with possible Check Engine Light. Review list of electrical fault codes PDF document attached. Cause of Complaint A: Increased friction between the EGR Valve blade and seat due to soot deposits causing a delay of the EGR Valve being able to reach the target value of the EGR Valve position controller. NOTE: This causes the EGR Valve blade and potentially the boost pressure controller to oscillate. Cause of Complaint B: Soot deposits between the EGR Valve blade and seat leading to the EGR Valve no longer being able to meet the desired target of the EGR Valve position controller. Cause of Complaint C: Internal EGR Valve or other electrical faults related to the EGR Valve function.

SummaryComplaint: Front door collides with fender. Excessive dynamic stress results in permanent deformation of the lower hinge and causes the front door to collide with the fender. This can result in damage to the door holder and the front door at the threaded connection of the door holder. Remedy: 1. In the event of damage to be claimed under warranty, please follow warranty guidelines 10.11.1 (see note) 2. Damaged body components will need to be repaired or replaced by a MB certified collision center. While at the collision center, please request a visual check for cracks on threaded connection of door holder in front door. 3. Replace lower hinge of front door on affected side of vehicle. (lower hinge will need to be painted) 4. Replace door holder (on both sides) with modified, shortened door holder. 5. For a repeat failure on a vehicle that has been previously repaired with the updated parts, Please create a PTSS case.

In such case, adhesion of the fixed windows to the vehicle body might be impaired. As a result, a loosening or detachment of the windows cannot be ruled out over the vehicle's lifetime, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. In addition, loosening of secured objects cannot be ruled out for vehicles with lashing rails, which could increase the risk of injury for vehicle occupants.
