ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid experienced repeated 12V battery discharge and “Deep Sleep” events associated with Recall 24C01 and SSM 53801. The vehicle repeatedly discharged the 12V battery while parked under normal conditions. In January 2026, after approximately two weeks parked in freezing temperatures, the battery experienced a complete discharge and the vehicle required multiple jump-starts to remain operational. Ford dealer records later confirmed that the corrective action associated with SSM 53801 had not been applied prior to the failure event despite prior complaints and service visits. The repeated discharge events resulted in failure of both: the original factory battery, and a replacement AGM battery installed at owner expense. This condition created repeated stranded events and loss of vehicle reliability. I am submitting this complaint because the issue appears directly related to documented parasitic drain conditions already acknowledged by Ford in Recall 24C01 and SSM 53801, and because the failure condition persisted before corrective action was finally applied.

During acceleration from 40-60 miles per hour, there was a pronounced vibration/shudder through the front end of the vehicle. After taking it to the dealership, they advised both front axles would need to be replaced. The catastrophic failure of an axle is likely to cause a car crash. The problem has been identified by Ford Motor Company and also confirmed by the Ford Dealership where I got it fixed. Ford Motor Company issued Customer Satisfaction Program 25N09 On September 17, 2025. My vehicle is a 2023 model year, but produced at the same plant and in the same time frame as the the ones mentioned in 25N09. There were no warning lamps or messages about the problem. The only indication was the heavy vibration a few thousand miles prior to getting it looked at.

Driver side door check hinge, rivets that hold the door hinge will break off. Door rivet panel will prevent the window to go down or up. The check hinge will break off during normal closing and opening of door.

The contact stated he noticed a odd sound from the driver side door when closing and opening, the winch on the driver side door is loose and scraping the inside of the door frame. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed it to need a new driver side door. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three separate occasions and was diagnosed with a CV shaft failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Vehicle started to have a shake under acceleration. Reported it to multiple dealerships and requested them to specifically observe the CV axles. Finally secured an appointment on 11-24-2025 while vehicle was under factory warranty. Tenvoorde Ford informed me (the owner) that the CV axles were “fine” and a non issue. Shake was still present. Kept driving the vehicle and now, five months later with no factory warranty left on the vehicle, shake still present, and received a second opinion today. CV axle needs replacement. ~68,000 miles on the odometer. I exclusively commute on interstate 94 in central Minnesota, hardly drive in cities. There is no justifiable reason when the vehicle was at the dealership that the CV axle went from being just fine to needing replacement. This is a very common concern with these Ford Mavericks and Ford needs to conduct a recall before people get injured on the public roadways.

The vehicle was at the dealer for a loud noise on the hinge area of the driver side door. I was contacted by the dealer and told That the door has cracked spot welds and needs to be replaced. The dealer contacted Ford and for opening offered to pay for a portion of the repair leaving me with over $1000 dollars out of pocket.This is a common problem with this vehicle and the Ford escape see Ford TSB 2356B. The vehicle is still under warranty but this is a defective item and should be covered 100% by Ford.

The dealer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that the parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V104000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting); however, parts were unavailable for the recall repair. The contact's husband purchased and replaced the light bulbs lights. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was informed that there was no assistance available. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

CV axle fails prematurely, causing vehicle shaking under acceleration, and potentially unsettling vehicle stability at speed. First noticed the shaking at 49K miles. I have not had an opportunity to schedule an appointment with the dealer to have it replaced yet. This is a known issue on these vehicles that Ford has not acknowledged, with many drivers reporting they need the CV axles replaced ever 30k miles or so.

CV axles are covered under the Ford Powertrain Warranty. I am experiencing a driveline vibration consistent with axle failure. I would like a warranty diagnosis and documentation explaining why this is not considered a warrantable defect. Dealerships are refusing to evaluate a powertrain warranty issue involving driveline vibration consistent with axle failure. The vehicle exhibits driveline vibration under normal operation. That is not normal function and indicates a defect under warranty terms. Powertrain issues with axles present a safety concern. I see Ford has superseded the original NZ6Z axle part numbers to SZ6Z and now PZ6Z revisions. That indicates a known issue with earlier components. My vehicle is exhibiting the exact failure symptoms—this should be evaluated under powertrain warranty.

Hybrid Ford Maverick electrical system began to go into a save battery mode -no interior lights, only driver side door operated, and other system failures. Dealer replaced battery under warranty and general recall for this issue. A few months later same characteristics started showing up -interior lights not working, only driver's side door operational, etc. This time the warranty had expired and the dealer, along with Ford Motor, told me any repairs would be at my expense, 100%. I feel problem was never resolved, even with replacement battery. Ford and dealer should address this problem. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this battery and electrical issue. After all, there was a full recall for the battery failure. Having no interior lights, unable to enter except driver's side, and other manifestations are inherently unsafe.

"2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has a chronic 12V parasitic drain defect. Authorized dealer Champaign Ford City provided false information, stating software was current when it was not. This led to a 100% discharge in freezing temperatures, requiring multiple jump-starts to reach the dealer. This discharge destroyed a high-quality owner-purchased AGM battery. Despite Safety Recall 25S02 mandating no-cost battery replacements for these vehicles, the dealer charged me for a Ford battery. Safety concern: Vehicle unreliability in sub-zero temperatures and dealer failure to adhere to federal recall reimbursement guidelines."
