SummarySome 2021 F-150 vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:49 stored in the image processing module A (IPMA). This may be due to the learned values in the IPMA not allowing the code to be cleared. To clear the DTC, download and run the IPMA - Reset the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Learned Values application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS), then run the IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Alignment application immediately after. If the U3000:49 is still present after running both applications, continue with normal diagnostics in Pinpoint Test AI in Workshop Manual, Section 419-07.

SummarySome 2021 F-150 vehicles may experience intermittent remote commands from the FordPass mobile app. Intermittent command behavior may also lead the customer to believe there is no cellular signal or coverage. FordPass mobile app commands may become operative again after starting the vehicle with the ignition or key fob. Ford Engineering is developing a software update that is expected in late March 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for April 2021. This software will be programmed to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) update if the vehicle is connected to the customers FordPass account. Once the update becomes available, contact the customer to ask whether they received the OTA update and confirm if the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates.

SummarySome 2021 F-150/Explorer/Aviator/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles, excluding hybrid, with 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or less may exhibit harsh or delayed engagement/shift concerns with or without transmission diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) in the powertrain control module (PCM). Most concerns at low mileage may be addressed with the accelerated main control break-in routine. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 307-01 Diagnosis and Testing, DTC Chart and/or Diagnosis By Symptom to identify the clutch(s) to be cycled. This routine cycles the shift solenoids and clutch control valves to remove contamination that may be sticking the valves and must be performed along with an adaptive drive cycle before attempting internal service. For claiming, use causal part 7A100 and applicable labor operations in Section 7 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome of the affected vehicles may have software logic errors affecting the heated mirror and the ITRM. The heated mirror may not output heat at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. Also, a battery drain may occur under a certain sequence of events due to a logic error in the ITRM. Under certain specific sequence, the ITRM battery drain may result in the inability to start the vehicle. A customer could experience a battery drain within 14 hours under the following conditions: the trailer is connected, vehicle is unlocked, parked, and the engine is off.

SummarySome 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L Powerboost engine and 7.2kW Pro Power Onboard may exhibit a message on the center stack screen indicating a circuit breaker on the bed panel outlet is tripped. If the bed panel outlet circuit breakers are not tripped, this may be due to a tripped circuit breaker in the instrument panel above the 120v power outlet. If all breakers are in a non-tripped state, verify the wire harness connector to the instrument panel outlet is fully connected. Engineering is aware of the incorrect circuit breaker messaging and will correct this with an over-the-air SYNC software update in late June 2021. In the interim, advise customers that any circuit breaker tripped message could be caused by any of the 2 bed panel or the IP circuit breakers.

SummarySome 2021 F-150 vehicles may exhibit an inoperative rear camera and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C1001:01 in the Sync Module (APIM) or B115E:15 or B115E:31 in the Image Processing Module A (IPMA). This may be due to a loose coaxial cable or circuit connection. If only APIM DTC C1001:01 is present, verify connections at connectors C242E/F, C2563 (with 12 inch screen) and/or C263 (with 8 inch screen). If IPMA DTCs B115E:15 and/or B115E:31 are also present, verify connections at connectors C242E/F, C316, C425 and C4357. If all connections are secure, perform PPT G in Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 413-13B. For claiming, use causal part number 19G490.

SummarySome 2021 F-150 vehicles may experience a lack of steering assist upon start-up along with a Steering Assist Fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U3000:96 and U3001:68 in the power steering control module (PSCM). This may be due to battery voltage below 8 volts when attempting to start the vehicle. Power steering assist will be restored when battery voltage is at or above 12 volts and the DTCs are cleared. Replacement of the PSCM is not necessary. To clear the DTCs using the FDRS, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition to verify normal system operation. If the DTCs return, refer to Workshop Manual Section 211-02 for normal diagnostics. For claiming, use causal part 3504.
