SummarySome 2018-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit inoperative remote features via the Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization, no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed or DTCs U2100 and/or B156D in the telematics control unit (TCU). These symptoms may persist even after performing a TCU software update and/or replacement. To correct this condition, start a new session with the latest version of the appropriate diagnostic scan tool and perform a PMI on the TCU. If issues persist, open a hotline assistance request and include the IDS version (if applicable) used to perform the PMI and the Authorization Status PID value in the TCU datalogger. For claiming use causal part 14H092 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Summary2019-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) have a revised transfer case control module (TCCM) strategy that will affect integrated wheel end (IWE) operation after initial start-up. The TCCM will not energize the solenoid to supply vacuum to the IWEs after the initial key cycle and a driven gear is selected. The IWEs will remain engaged for 0.8 km (0.5 mi) when the temperature is above 0 deg C (32 deg F) and 3 km (2 mi) when below 0 deg C (32 deg F). The strategy changes were implemented to improve vacuum supply management and axle warm up in cold temperatures. The engine must run for a minimum of 5 minutes to build sufficient vacuum before performing any vacuum related testing. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 307-08A > Four-Wheel Drive Systems > System Operation and Component Description for additional information.

SummarySome 2009-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbochargers may exhibit an oil leak from the turbocharger oil supply or return tubes, O-rings or 6.7L pedestal gasket. Although oil may collect on the turbocharger, it is very rare for a turbocharger to leak oil. To isolate the source of the leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 General Information > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Engine Oil Leaks - Fluorescent Oil Additive Method procedure. When an oil leak is present at a turbocharger oil supply or drain tube, remove the affected oil tube and inspect for damage, and replace the O-ring seals, pedestal gasket or oil tube as required. Refer to WSM, Section 303-04. For claiming, use the affected oil tube or pedestal gasket as the causal part and applicable labor operations in Sections 6 and 9 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2017-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost or 5.0L engine, 2019-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine, may exhibit a high pitched squeal or whistle type noise from the engine compartment after the engine is shut off. This condition may be due to the air conditioning (A/C) low side system pressure exceeding the high side pressure resulting in equalization of A/C system pressures through the A/C compressor. This noise is not detrimental to system operation or durability. Submit a Global Concern Report, and let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle. Set a follow-up appointment for June 2021 when repairs are expected to become available. Follow up with the customer to confirm the appointment once OASIS is updated.

This may be due to a worn variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the VCT units and update the powertrain control module (PCM) calibration with revised VCT parameters.

Refer to the Owner's Manual > Maintenance > Engine oil check section. When checking the engine oil level after shutting off the engine wait at least 15 minutes prior to checking in order to allow the oil to drain back to the oil pan. The engine oil level can be checked immediately if the engine has not been started. When changing the engine oil the engine needs to be at normal operating temperature and the oil filter removed before draining the oil. Allow the oil pan to drain completely for up to 5 minutes. Check oil level after filling by following the oil level check procedure.
