GOV driver was being signaled by other passing vehicles to pull over as their vehicle was on fire. The driver was able to safely stop the vehicle and found the engine compartment was on fire. He then called EMS. 1) How fast was the customer traveling when they became aware of the fire? I was at a stop light when I was notified by another vehicle that my car was on fire. I had no idea my car was on fire previously. Once I pulled over I starting seeing smoke come out the vents. I was on the highway on my way to the destination and possibly going 60 MPH but didn’t see any smoke while on the highway. 2) What was the recent usage of the vehicle before the incident? Was it used that day? How long had the vehicle been driving before the incident? The GOV was used maybe once or twice every two months. Yes it was used that day for about 25 minutes before the fire was noticed. 3) Did any vehicle operator notice anything wrong or unusual about the vehicle prior to the incident? Not to my knowledge 4) Any after-market equipment installed? Not to my knowledge

upon taking my chrysler 2015 200 limited 2.4L in-line into BAY AREA CHRYSLER dealership to figure out why my car wasnt running correctly they it on their diagnostic they said it needed a body control module which the dealership put a new one charged me 199.20 to put it in plus the $376.35 for the module that was ordered which I paid .when I picked up my car it was parked with the ignition on and walked off with the key fob.after paying for another 200 $ for a new key fob I was told the new part didnt work.so now the center stack which controls the radio the heater /air conditioner controls screen off on selecter knob and parking brake do not work so im wondering if the electrical recall or failure of the dealership to do their job

My car has shut off several times after starting. I have had to turn the car on and then turn it back on. The car has shut off on me a few times while driving. I just purchased this car as used in August of this year (2021). I am afraid this issue could happen while on the highway while cars are going at a high rate of speed. This most recent incident was today as I was going off to work.

The Chrysler 200's engine keeps suddenly shutting off while driving, mainly while making turns on streets and freeway on/off ramps. There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem. Sometimes the vehicle may just stall, most other times it just turns off and asks that I switch the shifter to park to then turn the vehicle back on. This issue is very concerning as it’s dangerous for the vehicle to shut down in traffic and could prove fatal.

STEERING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I tried talking to Chrysler but they were no help. They have had a power failure recall but I was told that based on my vin number, didnt affect my vehicle. Intermittent power steering failure. I replaced the battery, I replace the rack and pinion and it’s still doing the same thing. $2300 down the drain. You can be driving and loose the ability to steer the vehicle. There are tons of complaints about this and they all say the same. They have replaced major parts and the issue persist. When speaking to crysler over the phone, they said that the replacement of the rack and pinion would fix the issue. The car just dangerously shuts off without warning while driving in traffic. The Battery is new, and all fluids are full. This is the second time, in less than a month, that this dangerous shutdown has happened. Both times being while the car is in motion. The first time this dangerous incident occurred, the car started back up. The airflow sensor, All sparks plugs & coil packs were changed & Throttle body cleaned. This time, the car will not crank back up.

Drivers side headrest deployed while driving the car. No collisions just regular driving. Dealership says I have to pay to have it repaired. This is a safety issue that I should not have to pay for. Apparently it has happened to a lot of Chrysler cars. The headrest is not fixed and is available for inspection if needed.

AIR BAGS
Occupant Classification Module (OCM) or the Seat Cushion Foam (SCF) of the front passenger seat replaced instead of the both pieces together, which make up a complete calibrated set. The part was recalled I have the same type of car but my VIN is not showing up on the list. My airbag sensor goes off and I was advised that the above is what the issue is. My car for some reason doe snot come up as needing to be fixed but my car has this direct issue with the passenger side airbag. The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost power steering and another vehicle slightly crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that he forcefully steered the steering wheel and veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he was unable to drive the vehicle after several attempts. The lightning bolt warning light illuminated. The vehicle was pushed to his residence with assistance. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

My vehicle has been recalled but I’m noticing problems with my transmission when in switching gears. Sometimes it shifts into neutral, my radio shuts off periodically and my seat fills a lot thinner then the passenger seat. My air bag sensors pops on as well as the gas cap sensor and I just replaced the gas cap 2 months ago.

While slowing to a stop, the vehicles engine sputtered and shook, and ultimately shut down. All power steering and braking capabilities were lost, leaving the vehicle in a drift. The vehicle had to be put into PARK to be halted. Fortunately, I was slowing in a neighborhood near a driveway, and was traveling slowly. Had this happened on a major road or freeway (and I have in fact detected this lurching before in such conditions), I or others could be seriously injured in a high speed collision. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer yet. Nor by police, insurance representatives, etc. No warning lights were engaged to warn me of the approaching stall.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that upon placing the gear shifter into reverse, the contact had to depress the accelerator pedal to the floorboard for the vehicle to move. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where he was informed that there was an internal transmission failure. The mechanic referred him to a dealer for assistance. The dealer was contacted, and he was informed that he would receive a callback. The manufacturer had yet to be notified about the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 76,000.

This car is shutting off and losing power while driving putting me as well as other motorists in danger due to this occurring without warning and under any rate and direction of motion. I have loss power causing my emergency brakes to initiate causing the car to immediately stop. I was crossing an intersection when the car shut off. Yesterday, I was entering an entrance ramp onto the freeway and my car loss power, and the only time I was happy to have the police behind me because they blocked traffic so I would not get hit while trying to restart my car. The first time this occurred was April 2019 when my car lost power while I was driving on a high rise bridge during a storm causing the car to hydroplane back and forth against the railing. I was able to restart it and turn the hazard lights on so I would not get hit. But this accident injured me causing me to undergo months of medical treatment. Even after telling the insurance company about the power loss during the accident and even after the car was repaired from the accident then returned to me, it still was losing power. They took my car back and told me after inspecting it again, it was the battery and they replaced it. This was never taken serious when I was injured and could have died that day and many other days since. They did not check to see if it could have been a recall issue. Now I am experiencing this problem multiple times a week, and unless this is done by the manufacturer, it will not be corrected, putting us all in danger or leaving me without transportation because I have no faith I will be safe to continue to drive this car that I still have a year and a half of payments left. This is my families only transportation.

I was in accident on Nov.21,2021 it was a T bone the truck that hit me the airbag was deployed and mine didnt but my car was totaled damage there is a safety issue.I was doing about 25mph and the other vehicle about 45mph.
