I’m have 1-2” dead space in steering. It is hard to stay in lane on highway as when a road dip takes extra movement keep straight. I was told this is normal but had dealer change steering box. Replacement helped a lot but truck is starting to get the 1-2” of play once again. Seems like similar issue to 2016 model year.

Engine misfiring multiple times over a period of 2 or 3 years. Took it to the dealership in Andrews Tx, could not duplicate misfire but saw over 600 misfires on a single cylinder, they said it was fuel pump failure. Replaced fuel pump. After a month misfiring started again. October of 2024 took it to dealership in San Angelo Tx, they were able to duplicate misfire, lifter failure. Replaced lifters and cam as it was beat up. One month after repair, vehicle started shuddering. Took it back to San Angelo service center, transmission issue, torque converter needs to be replaced. I refused the service as I would not spend $5,000 more after spending $10,000 to repair engine.

Jerking of 1-2 gears. Also in 5-6. Has not been inspected thoroughly by dealer. Was told “it’s just the way these vehicles are.” Merging onto oncoming traffic, I fear for my safety. No warning lights and the jerking/rumble strip feeling is becoming more common than when purchased.

I was driving on [XXX] leaving from Onawa, IA. Up to this point I had not issue or notifications about my vehicle. While driving North bout and having the adaptive cruise control set at 80 MPH, I was in the left lane passing 3 semis in the right lane. After passing the first one, the first semi merged to the left lane following. I was approximately 1/2 passed the next semi when all the sudden my cruise started to slow down. It went from 80 to 78 back to 80, then 80 back to 77 to 80. Suddenly and with no warning the engine completely shut down and I went from 80 - 0 is approx. 100 feet. The semi behind me sounded their horn loudly as they almost hit my rear end before merging over. I had no time to go over to the right shoulder and had to go to the left where the vehicle would not move. I could not move the vehicle off the shoulder as it would not shift to natural. Law enforcement was notified as the safety of the vehicle on the left side of the interstate caused safety issues. The tail gate on my 2023 Silverado has started to open on its own both while driving and while stopped as well as attempting to open every 3-5 minutes while the vehicle is off. I contacted Chevrolet after I saw there was open recalls for this exact issue to see if my truck was covered with this recall and to my chagrin it is not. But from what I read, this is the exact issue that other drivers of Silverados between the years of 2020-2024 have been experiencing.

Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue with my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with the 6.2-liter engine. At the time of the incident, my truck had only 17,000 miles on it and had received the two necessary oil changes as recommended. On Thursday, [XXX] while driving northbound on [XXX] in Houston, Texas, my truck unexpectedly lost power while in motion. Fortunately, I was in one of the right lanes and was able to push it to the side, but not before nearly being struck by another vehicle. Several cars had to swerve to avoid my disabled truck, and I truly believe that I could have been seriously injured or worse due to this mechanical failure. After having my truck towed to the dealership, I was informed that the engine had completely locked up and needed a full replacement. However, despite my immediate action to get the issue resolved, I have now been without a vehicle since [XXX], and as of today, March 10, 2025, there is still no replacement engine available. I have been told that the 6.2-liter engines are on backorder for 5 to 6 months because this issue is happening to so many vehicles. This raises serious concerns: If so many of these engines are failing, why has there been no recall issued? How is it acceptable for GMC to sell vehicles with a known defect that can lead to life-threatening situations on the road? Why am I still paying a $1,300 monthly car note for a vehicle I have not been able to drive in over three months? This is not just a case of vehicle reliability; this is a severe safety hazard. My truck failed suddenly in moving traffic, and based on the widespread engine failures, it appears that this could happen to many other drivers as well, potentially leading to catastrophic accidents. I urge the NHTSA to investigate these engine failures immediately and take appropriate action, including issuing a recall if warranted. I would appreciate an update on INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

On my 2015 Chevy Silverado truck the Service Airbag light has been coming on sporadically. I did a google search and received this back. Yes, there has been a recall on the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado regarding the airbag system, specifically affecting the roof-rail airbags (RRAB) which may deploy without a collision due to a potential manufacturing defect in the inflator, causing parts to potentially propel into the cabin and injure occupants; this recall affects both the 2015 Silverado 1500 I did a search via my VIN number and your site tells me my truck is not applicable. Please provide some guidance. I need this fixed and should not be charged for the fix.
