While driving at ~30 mph the rear wheels locked up momentarily with no warning and without applying the breaks. The back of the vehicle fish-tailed while the tires slid. Following the incident the check engine light came on and the vehicle went into limp mode and would not go more than about 25 - 30 mph. I immediately took it to the Chevrolet Dealer. The dealer indicated that the codes showed an issue with the transmission control module. It is currently at the dealer to be repaired. The vehicle has 51917 miles and is still under power train warranty. There was no warning or indication something was about to happen prior to the incident. The truck is a 2023 Silverado 1500 with the 2.7 liter Turbo engine with the GM 8 speed transmission.

I was going 70 in the fast lane on [XXX] near birmingham, Al; when my 2024 Silverado lost propulsion, electrical and power steering. I was forced to move 3 lanes over to the emergency lane or wreck off to the left. When it lost propulsion i lost turn signals and power steering. They are going to attempt to fix it, but engines are on backorder. Regardless if it is fixed, the thing almost killed me. There's no way I'm going to be driving that thing. This issue was confirmed at the dealership and no warning lights came up on the screen prior to losing propulsion. I was driving on the highway at a speed of around 65 miles an hour and I heard a loud noise and the truck did a hard jerk and slowed down abruptly I then had to struggle to get over to the shoulder as cars around me were moving at high speeds then I found out that it was the lifters that failed and I started doing research on this problem and it seems to be a problem that a lot of people are having with these trucks as well as transmission issues which I was having before this happened

I have the L87 6.2 liter V8 engine from General Motors. I had sudden engine failure. Apparently the rods and bearings are bad. It is the same problem as the recall issued for 2021-2024 vehicles, exept for my truck is a year 2020. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We bought this truck in 2020 with only in two years had to have the transmission rebuilt within warranty 2 1/2 years later after rebuilding the transmission with the dealer warranty, the transmission gives out again same problems as before now the warranty expired and we have to pay out of pocket to have the transmission replaced as no one is reaponxible for repairs. This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning And I don’t understand what this transmission is not being recalled if you could please explain multiple people that I have talked to and multiple mechanics have advised me that this is an ongoing issue with this make and model. I only wish I had known this before purchasing and now I’m hoping that I can get help on this.

as mentioned by many customers the dash on the vehicles crack and GM refuses to pay for repairs. Now there is a Airbag recall that needs to be completed and I am told by dealer that the dash will crack more and get worse during the repair and they are not responsible for the damage. This is unacceptable and unsafe as it is costing me and consumers more money for a defective product.

I was driving on I85 North north of Atlanta merging off of I285 East in the second to the left hand lane when a light came on the dash saying "low oil pressure". I looked at the oil pressure gauge and it was at zero and there was black smoke from the back of the vehicle from oil hitting the exhaust. There was absolutely no indication of any issue at any time. I was able to coast into the emergency lane and get it shut off. Had I not been able to get pulled off the side of the road, it could have been disastrous as the vehicle had no power and I could have easily lost control and caused a multi vehicle accident. I had the vehicle towed to the closest Chevy dealership and have been informed that the oil cooler line completely separated and will cost $1,400.00 to repair. After receiving the diagnosis, I did a quick Google search and found that this is a fairly common issue, specifically with 2019 5.3L Chevy Silverados and should be, in my opinion, a safety recall.

The oil coolant cooler is leaking oil into my antifreeze reservoir, but nothing is in the oil pan, which could cause damage to the engine a very expensive fix, and this should be covered under drivetrain by all means

The tailgate would open and close on its own. I was about ready to connect my fifth wheel RV for a trip when suddenly as I closed the truck door to back up I saw that the tailgate had opened. I proceeded to put it in park and the tailgate closed on its own. Got out as leaving the door to the pickup I walked to the rear of the truck to notice the tailgate open and close on its own. I am expecting this issue to be recalled for a repair as I have read that 2024 has this same issue and that they will be recalling trucks from 2020-2024.The issue is due to a faulty relay when wet. This vehicle is equipped with power-unlatching tailgate. I believe if this issue would have went unnoticed and continued to hook up my fifth wheel the damage would have been horrific. Thanking you in advance, Sincerely, [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The repair estimate includes a complete teardown and replacement of the camshaft, 16 lifters, seals, bolts, gaskets, and associated components. The full cost breakdown is: Labor & Parts Subtotal: $11,402.78 Shop Fees & Tax: $467.13 Total Estimate: $11,869.91 Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection. it has been inspected by a chevrolet dealership and they gave us the above estimate to repair it. The vehicle powered down while driving on the freeway. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, only by the chevrolet dealership service department. No, there were no warning signs prior to it powering down on the freeway. When it stopped producing power needed, the engine light came on as well as emergency brake light. This issue started on the freeway on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The vehicle is only 4 years with only 130,000 miles and one that has been properly maintained. We believe this failure is not due to neglect or wear, but rather a known manufacturing defect.

I have been shopping for a truck for a little over a year now specifically a 2012 Chevy Silverado. To date everyone I found has frame and body rust but the frame rust is so bad that most aren’t safe to drive.

Vehicle has 19299 miles and engine started rattling on deceleration and making clicking and knocking noises. Engine simply stopped working on the highway on the way to Chevy Maintenance. Couldn’t even shift to neutral to get it on the tow truck. It had to be dragged up the ramp. The the clicking and knocking to engine failure happened in one day. Now my truck is sitting in Chevrolet waiting on an engine which is on back order. So I’ll be without a truck that I’m making 1800/mo payments on (took 36 month loan) and can’t even reduce my insurance to comprehensive due to being at a maintenance lot. Bottom line, I have a new undriveable truck with no date available as to when I’ll even get it back. It’s been suggested one to two months…
