this is 6.2 l l87 engine that is being recalled but this vin is not on list. already had lifters and rods replaced while back. coming home from trip truck made awful noise and I lost power on the interstate. thankfully was able to get out of traffic but waited 3.5 hours for tow. at dealer but cant tell me when they can look at it. 60,200 miles and they are saying well we will see what we can do but your powertrain warranty ended at 60k. i have had numerous problems and these are all known by gm especially 2021 6.2l.

When vehicle is placed in park the safety lock will not allow the key to turn to the "off" position and be removed. The vehicle will not turn "off" any further than the accessory position. Sometimes after turning the steering wheel back and forth while working the ignition the key will release. If this does not work after a minute or so, sometimes you can start the truck and immediately turn it all the way off and get the key to release. If all of that fails the last option is to disconnect the battery. It is an intermittent issue that will happen 5 times a day for a week, and then will not replicate again for a week or two.

Driving to work my engine failure light came on….the engine immediately sputtered. I immediately drove inside the bay at Ozark Chevrolet. As soon as I pulled in….the technician told me to turn it off and that I wouldn’t be driving it anymore. See my statement for $3,429.15. I have to carry my grandkids in this vehicle. I traded it in on Tundra. And now I find out about the recall. It was the 8cyl engine currently under recall.

My engine shakes when shifting into the V4 from the V6 and my transmission shifts hard as well as a dieseling affect when shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. Rear main seal was replaced 1000 miles ago and now has to be replaced again due to the rapid shaking of the V4 cylinder deactivation(which was a terrible way to make the reliable 4.3 Lt engine unreliable)

Transmission is changing out very hard in each gear. On tonight while I was driving, I lost speed on the interstate and when I push the accelerator, It was like back wheels were locked up. I left it at the next exit gas station and came back and towed it home. Lucky I was able to put hazard lights on and get off the side of the road but it was very slow speed. Yes I have had it look at certified dealer under Cheverolet. It was no warning light. I was going 65 and in a split second the rpm went up high and I was doing like 25. Once I finally made it to the gas station and got out the truck smell like a burning smell

This is the third time since the purchase date of July 2023, that my Diesel 1500 Silverado has gone into "Reduced Engine Power" while driving. The first date was August 2024, while traveling down the interstate. The check engine light came on. My maximum speed was reduced to 50mph, and the transmission shifting was very jerky. This was extremely dangerous with the flow of traffic traveling 70+ mph. I returned to the dealer where the vehicle sat on the lot for approximately 60 days awaiting the part (Valve Body) from GM. Components were repaired through warranty. Fast forward to February 2025, "Reduced Engine Power" notification came on again with the code P0747, P700. Returned to dealer, and after a week of sitting on the lot, the technician could not duplicate the code. I requested that a new fuel filter be replaced for piece of mind. Today, 3 mos. later, as I was backing out of my driveway, my truck did not shift/engage into Reverse. I was able to roll into the road & put it in Drive, however it went into "Reduced Engine Power." The vehicle will have to be towed, at my expense, I'm sure, to further diagnose the cause. The truck does not move when shifted into Reverse, and pressure is applied to the pedal. It is extremely concerning knowing a national recall on identical GM components has been reported, and yet I have had identical issues without resolution. Despite the known problems and safety risks, especially with a child in the vehicle during each failure, I’ve been left without consistent or timely support. I am requesting immediate assistance in diagnosing and repairing this vehicle, as well as a formal explanation of why this recurring issue has not triggered a broader response or replacement. At this point, I’m also considering pursuing further action through GM corporate or a consumer protection agency if a permanent resolution is not reached.

I am reporting an issue with a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine. The vehicle experienced a failure of the NOx Sensor Position 2, which significantly impacted performance and emissions compliance. GM previously issued Emission Recall N212351211 (March 7, 2023) for other diesel Silverado models regarding improper ECM detection of NOx sensor faults. The issue in my vehicle appears functionally identical, yet this engine and model were not included in that recall. The sensor was replaced and reprogrammed at a Chevrolet dealership at the owner’s expense. After contacting Chevrolet, a customer retention check was provided, covering roughly half of the total cost. While appreciated, the remaining cost burden remains significant. If this model is eventually included in the recall, it may allow for full reimbursement and support for other affected owners. Online forums show that many 3.0L Duramax owners are experiencing similar failures, suggesting this may be a widespread and systemic defect. Due to the strong similarities with the recalled condition in other models, I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this recall should be expanded to cover additional affected vehicles. This issue presents both reliability and emissions compliance concerns. In addition, the vehicle developed a separate mechanical/electrical problem shortly after the NOx sensor failure. Because it involves different systems, I will file a separate complaint regarding that issue.

- #11659986May 9, 2025ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound and lost motive power. The “Service ESC” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the connecting rod had punctured the engine block, allowing fluid to leak out from the engine. The dealer requested that the contact provide maintenance records. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

Driving the truck at 45 mph, the engine stalled and the dash had all the lights on showing codes. Had it towed home and called the dealership the next business day. I was told it was the drive belt pulley that had gone bad causing loss of engine power. I had that replaced and the dealership then told me that the lifters were bad. I had to get that replaced because I needed my truck. The dealership had had it for almost three weeks at that point. $1300 to replace a lifter.

Experienced a problem with electrical theft deterrent system and it shut the vehicle off while driving. I tried to start the vehicle and nothing happened except it said theft deterrent system. I took the key out tried starting again and it turned over immediately. The dash said theft deterrent and I clicked dismiss but the dash icon (a car with a lock light) remained on. I then drove 11 miles home. I turned on my directional proceeded to brake upon approaching my driveway. As I attempted to turn the steering wheel the vehicle completely shut off. The info system stating theft deterrent active. I lost power steering and brakes. I needed to press the brakes with great force because the vehicle was headed towards the sidewalk and a road sign. Steering was virtually unresponsive. Vehicle stopped as the tires reached the curb and approximately 1 ft from the sign. Placed vehicle in park and started it back up. Pulled into my driveway and the info system stated I need to roll the drivers window down and the up to deactivate. I have checked all battery connections are intact and tight. The battery, starter and alternator were all checked and fine. I have no idea what caused this dangerous behavior. The incident happened on MA Rt. 126 988 S. Main st Bellingham MA 02019

It is commonly known the Chevy 5.3 and 6.2 engines have lifter problems. Not sure why there has not been some sort of recall done already.

ABS system and trailer brakes lights on dashboard come on and until the truck is off and sits for awhile the abs will start working again. Have had several shops look at it and have heard several different things. Started with the cheaper side of things and still no luck for a solution.
