- #11688343September 19, 2025ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC), POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds in inclement weather, the ESC warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while making minor steering adjustments or turning to the right or the left, the vehicle skidded. The contact was able to make an adjustment to the steering wheel to regain control of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly and was vibrating noticeably while stopped at a traffic light or while slowing down for traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. Recently, while driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the RPMs elevated to 4,500 RPM. The contact pulled over and stopped the vehicle, and the vehicle was turned off and restarted. The vehicle was revving abnormally and failed to shift out of first gear. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V797000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Vehicle transmission harsh shift and failed to shift gears. Feels as though I’m pushed forward when accelerating. Harsh clunk coming from the transmission. Transmission flush done at the dealer. Was told transmission needed a new valve body, part was on backorder and there were 25 similar trucks ahead and waiting. Several transmission related codes have also come up. 58000 miles.

The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH and making a right downhill turn, he crashed into the rail guard before impacting a tree where the vehicle came to a stop. No warning lights were illuminated. No air bags deployed. The contact was concerned about whether the air bags should have deployed for the type of impact experienced. The contact stated that the Driver's side seat belt had locked. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and towed to a local tow yard, where it remains. The contact fell unconscious due to the impact and was rushed to a local medical center via helicopter. When attempting to park the truck and shut the engine off, a message appears on the dash stating that I should "shift to park". I have already made the shift to park but the system will not allow the electrical system to shut down. A loud beeping begins, door locks remain open and inoperable, the vehicle is then unsecurable and the ignition remains open/on which in time will run the battery down. Disconnection from the battery will stop the drain on the battery for this particular event but will not cure the problem nor erase data that has sometime worked on complex computer controlled devices. I refuse to allow my wife to take the vehicle to park at any location for fear of her safety to secure or lock the vehicle and, in the event she would have to vacate the vehicle it would increase the possibility of theft of the truck. GM has recalled other makes of their products for the same problems which I understand was also reported to NHTSA and has also suffered litigation in the form of class action suits which was won by consumers in the states of Tennessee and Ohio. After consulting the dealership with the complaint, I was instructed that GM has not issued a recall for these trucks which experience the same problem as those they were required to recall and repair. The costs for such repair by the consumer is unreasonable and unwarranted by reasons that this is a manufacturing AND certainly a SAFETY problem for the consumer. Their disregard for safety and quality control has been demonstrated continually as research in this matter and other complaints of GM problems are and continue to be numerous. This vehicle is IS out of the normal warranty range. However, just as the problem with the brakes that suddenly failed just after the warranty expired on this vehicle which was also a major safety problem, extensive testing of GM safety performance is not a priority but rather they ship it out the door to consumers and just see what happens. Thanks you for your time. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM O

Component/System Failure and Availability for Inspection: While driving at 70 miles per hour on the interstate, the vehicle suffered a complete loss of oil pressure. The engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle simultaneously stopped operating. The vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This failure posed a severe risk to my safety and the safety of others. The sudden and complete loss of engine function at highway speed could easily have resulted in a serious accident. I was fortunate the incident occurred in an area that was not heavily populated at the time. Under different circumstances, this failure could have led to life-threatening consequences. Reproduction/Confirmation of the Problem: The issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but the nature of the failure was sudden, significant, and left the vehicle inoperable. Inspection by Others: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but it remains available for review. Warning Lamps/Messages/Symptoms: The only indicator prior to the failure was the immediate illumination of the engine light as the oil pressure dropped. This warning appeared at the same moment the vehicle lost power and stopped operating, leaving no opportunity to respond before the vehicle was disabled. Numerous comments and complaints with the same issue. Cust Satisfaction N212326940, does it take someone getting injured or dying before this administration makes the compnay do the right thing?

Transmission-Has always shuddered and hesitates when shifting. Problem seems to get worse. Dealer had no answer except try flushing transmission. I read this is an inherent problem.

- #11688192September 18, 2025ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine was misfiring. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the cylinders were misfiring, and the mechanic recommended that the spark plugs be replaced. The contact replaced the spark plugs with the assistance of a retired mechanic; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a cylinder misfire. The mechanic recommended removing the dynamic fuel system management by replacing the camshaft, lifters, and other unknown parts. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to schedule an appointment for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to GM Campaign Number: N212353840. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

We have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 in which the engine has failed. We believe this is the issue involved in the recall of Chevy Trucks. It needs to be added to the recall list. It has been unable to move since 2/17/2024. We have reported this to GM but they have not responded. Thank you

- #11688240September 18, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
Recall 19V-645 / N192268490 was performed on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, prior to me purchasing the vehicle a month ago. A computer adjustment was completed in 2019. The vehicle has brake problems, ie: vehicle will ease forward with brakes applied or while stopped. Upon re-applying brakes I have a HARD brake pedal. Dealer stated that recall was completed and I will have to pay to get vehicle fixed. The problem I am experiencing with this vehicle is the same problem that was addressed in the original recall. Computer adjustment did not fix the problem and a new vacuum pump should be installed on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local GM dealer on 15 September 2025. . If problem is not addressed properly, the vehicle brakes would/could cause an accident, at low speeds or move forward while vehicle is stopped. With vehicle in reverse, braking is harder than in forward causing potential accident.

Vehicle will cut off as if an electrical short and the Service Stabilitrak indicator will flash on the dashboard along with warning chimes. This has happened several times at low speed (1st gear) especially while turning. The steering wheel locks and can not be turned. I've almost been involved in an accident this week because the truck turns off while making a turn. I was at a stop sign waiting to turn left having to cross 2 lanes of on coming traffic and when I accelerated the trucks electrical cut out and forced the steering wheel to go straight I gave it more gas and the truck turned back on. On another day I pulled up and put it in reverse turned right and the truck shut off I had to put it in park and restarted it to back in my driveway. GM need to fix this.
