Electric power steering failure due to tie rod bellows failure, this is an incredibly dangerous and irresponsible engineering design, moisture entered the electric motor causing it to fail, my wife's failed at highway speeds and almost caused a wreck, she could have been killed, if I could afford to sue I would, our other vehicle is down and we are forced to drive this dangerous vehicle putting us and others in harms way, this is terrible and absurd.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the door locks were independently locking and unlocking, and the hazard lights were flashing intermittently. The contact stated that the interior lights and the headlights were activated without the contact using the key fob or manually turning the lights on. The contact stated that the 12-Volt battery and alternator were replaced, but the vehicle still experienced electrical failures. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the door lock actuator and the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,000.

On [XXX], while driving ~65 mph, my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax experienced a sudden transmission lock-up, nearly causing a crash. The event caused severe internal transmission damage, leaving the truck unsafe and inoperable. This is the exact defect described in NHTSA Recall #24V-797 (GM Recall N242454440), which states that valve body wear can cause rear-wheel lock-up. My truck stored P0700 and P2820, which directly indicate a valve body failure. GM refuses to repair my vehicle under Special Coverage N242454441 (15 years/150,000 miles) because code P0747 did not set, even though my failure clearly matches the defect. I requested a hydraulic valve body leak test, the only way to confirm the defect, but the dealer refused, saying they only scan codes. GM must perform this test at no cost, as required by federal recall laws. GM’s denial leaves a known safety defect unrepaired, violating federal recall obligations and putting drivers at risk. NHTSA action is needed to require GM to repair vehicles like mine, regardless of which DTC is stored. VIN: XXX Mileage at failure: 145,560 Dealer: Ken Garff Chevrolet – American Fork, Utah GM Case #: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Upon reversing the vehicle and apply the brake, as if in a parking lot or driveway, if pushing the brake pedal more than twice the pedal becomes hard and the vehicle becomes hard to stop without and excessive amount of force being applied to the brake pedal. If depressing the brake pedal more than 3 times, it is almost impossible to stop the vehicle with it coasting several feet. Checked for a recall, there is no recall, but there is a service bulletin that pertains to this issue concerning the brake assist vacuum pump booster, N182202780-01 and N192268490, for the 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado. An update to the electronic brake control module was completed on 2019-09-23, but such calibration seems to not be enough to resolve the issue.

Issue: (1) Was parking truck and as I placed the shifter into "R", it would not stay in "R" I could not engage reverse. After 3-4 times, I pulled straight forward and attempted to shift the vehicle into "R". It finally locked into "R" and I was able to back the truck up. I also experienced a hard shift when I had placed it into "D" to pull forward. Issue: (2) Earlier that day, was as I was backing out of my driveway, I noticed my backup video, went out, and intermittently, came back on. at one point it displayed a circle with a triangle?

Hello Our 2011 Chevy Silverado looks like it was sitting in a lake. The rusted frame has a hole and has failed Pennsylvania Inspection. The whole underside of the vehicle frame is peeling away the body of the truck is very clean. Truck has 60,000 miles and is garage kept. We were shocked to see the condition when we were at the inspection station. It worries me how many of these trucks are on the road or towing trailers. Please don’t wait to take action until something happens. Yes, our vehicle is available for inspection pictures. There was no warning lights. Our local Pennsylvania State Inspection Station failed the truck during routine yearly inspection. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This truck is locking up momentarily, sometimes at high rates of speed on the interstate. It is very violent and jars the neck of my and my passengers. It leaves tire skid marks on the highway at high rates of speeds. It happens when i slow down or when the truck tries to shift gears. Turns out, GM HAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE, (N242454440) but my VIN is not included for some reason. The Chevy dealer has confirmed this issue and is recommending a new transmission. This has been ongoing since July and I am on pins and needles every time I drive this vehicle. Can you please encourage GM to include my VIN in their recall: N242454440, holding me harmless for the repairs?

Date of Incident: [XXX] Approximate Time of Incident: [XXX] EST Location of Incident (City and State): Tallahassee, Florida Street or Highway Name: [XXX], lane between [XXX] & [XXX] Weather Conditions: Clear and dry, approximately 90°F While traveling at approximately 72 MPH in the center lane of [XXX] westbound near Tallahassee, FL, the vehicle suddenly began rapidly decelerating after shuttering, as if the brakes were being applied without driver input. A warning message appeared on the dashboard instructing the driver to restart the engine. At the same time, the steering and brakes became noticeably stiffer, suggesting that the engine had shut down. The driver navigated across high-speed traffic, nearly avoiding being rear-ended by other vehicles, and was able to bring the vehicle to a stop on the shoulder. Multiple attempts to restart the vehicle were unsuccessful. The incident posed a serious safety risk due to the loss of engine power and driving assist features in active interstate traffic. After the incident, the vehicle was towed to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet (3127 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 32304), where it is scheduled for inspection on or after Monday, September 30, 2025. The dealership may retain the faulty part(s) and the vehicle is available for further inspection upon request. No prior warning lights or symptoms were noticed before the incident occurred. One day when headed out of town I stopped and got gas immediately once getting back on the highway my dash lit up like a Christmas tree, driving became uncomfortable as it sputtered when trying to give gas. I looked up a couple of the dash warning lights and it alluded to emission problems. I take the truck to the mechanic and he says that a head is cracked and the cam shaft needs to be repaired. This issue came out of nowhere, no prior issues as far as over heating or any dash lights on.

Truck has under 45k miles on it. After reaching 35-40mph, it began to shake and jolt. Once we drove approximately 20miles, the engine light began flashing, in addition to the parking break light turning on. The truck began to lose power and we were forced to pull over on the side of a busy road. After waiting a little bit, we were able to drive it to our local shop who advised us to tow it back the the dealership for repairs.

GM is not handle this recall in a timely manner. They are refusing to inspect vehicle to see of there are any defects. This is concerning, as based on the recall notice, the engine may fail at anytime. This could cause a crash or leave me or my wife stranded on some road. My dealer would do the inspection but to do the inspection but they said they are not allowed until I have gotten "permission" from GM. This is a safety concern for me and my family and GM is not handling this appropriately. An immediate inspection should be done ensuring if the vehicle is safe to drive.
