ENGINE
I took my car into King Chevrolet last year around August. The car was overheating and the fan was running almost all the time. When they ran the diagnoses which I was charged 100 dollars for, they told me I had a loose plug. About 1 month after that, it started doing it again. I called the service department and was told I should get rid of the car as they are not that good of a vehicle by the service tech. I found the thermostat was broken and replaced it. It helped for a while then I noticed the check engine light and it was code p0420 which stated it was a bad catalytic converter. I noticed a recall in 2018 by GM, recall # 16186. I called them today and they said my car was not affected. It did affect 2014 chevy cruze according to the recall. They wanted me to bring it in to have it diagnosed again for 100 dollars. I have have the valve cover replaced twice as the pvc valve was defective. The car has 116,000 miles now and it had 96,000 when this started happening. I would like to know if they are telling the truth, or just trying to soak me for repairs.

Loses power replace the maf sensor new air filter replaced both thermostat sensors, the thing that regulates the gas and 3 oil changes only had the car 2 months. Now a differnt code is showing about a mis fire.. i dnt think any of the recalls were completed on my car

ENGINE
The car started smoking from under the hood and completely stopped and the mechanic I took the vehicle to told me that the engine is done and needs to be replaced at an estimated cost of $3,700.00. Luckily, this did not happen on the highway and I was able to get the car pulled into a retail space parking lot and get it towed to the mechanic. Wile driving, the low oil light flashed on for a moment a couple of times. Not long after that, the vehicle stalled. The mechanic changed the oil but the car was smoking with white smoke billowed out the exhaust. The vehicle has just under 114,000 miles and we have already put much money into this car to get the check engine light fixed.

MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF OVERHEATING SPANNING OVER THE PERIOD OF A FEW YEARS NOW: WATER PUMP, COOLANT HOUSING, VALVE COVER GASKET, AND MOST RECENTLY TURBO CHARGER COOLANT LINES HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED. HAVE NOT CONTACTED MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THE INFORMATION EVERYWHERE SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS OBVIOUSLY VERY COMMON PROBLEM! DOESN'T SEEM FAIR AT ALL. THIS ISSUE HAS LEFT ME STRANDED IN TRAFFIC, ON SIDE OF HIGHWAYS, HAVING TO CALL SOMEONE COUNTLESS TIMES, NOT TO MENTION THE REPAIR AND ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION FEES. I MEAN, WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE SOMETHING IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR?!?!!

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she noticed that oil was leaking onto the ground. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was misfiring and making abnormal sounds. The check engine warning light and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power train, fuel injectors, manifold output pressure, and fuel tank system had failed. Additionally, there was loss of communication with engine control module. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, upon servicing the vehicle at the local Pep Boys, the contact was informed that the engine belt was damaged and the failure could cause engine overheating. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V288000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

Water pump, cooling system. There’s a recall on this system already but not for my vin. The service bulletin describes 100% off issues im having yes manufacture will not help because my vin isn’t attached to service bulletin. Car over heat constantly, I’ve pretty much replaced the entire cooling system twice now. Airbags also faulty. The entire passenger side of vehicle was hit by fedex truck not long after being rear-ended and an adjuster claiming car 95% totaled,( yet still ended up rebuilding it) no airbags deployed in both situations

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the odor of engine oil was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. Additionally, oil was leaking from the engine compartment onto the floor of the garage. The vehicle had been serviced on multiple occasions for the failure by an independent mechanic who replaced the oil pan and oil reservoir however, the failure persisted. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V288000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 100,000.

POWER TRAIN
Water pump failed and car began to overheat. The car advised that it was turning off my heat due to the car getting too hot and then advised to stop the car due to overheating. When i took it to a certified chevy dealership the mechanic stated that this car maker and model was well known to leak liquids from many locations under the hood. He said that this car alone has kept them in service with as many repairs they have to do for these cars. My car was the fourth Chevy Cruze there that day that had some type of liquid leaking from under the hood. If this is that well known an issue with these type of cars then chevy should have a recall to fix this obvious malfunction so i wanted to make sure i Made a complaint on this in case others had not.

POWER TRAIN
Slave cylinder failed on manual transmission/transaxle where you cannot get vehicle out of gear which is a huge safety issue especially with the rampant traffic added to congestion on freeways. It’s frustrating because it seems this has been a common issue with most manual transmission/transaxels which is why GM selected to not produce any more manual Chevrolet Cruze’s. They later on discontinued the Cruze because the vast issues in design with the vehicle. Not only have I had this issue but I also have had diesel exhaust fluid, diesel particulate filter, and air cleaner issues. I’m hoping that enough people have submitted this complaint for GM to do a recall as it’s a $2000 job for the dealer to fix the issue as well as almost getting in a traffic incident.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the Blind Spot Detection system failed to recognize another vehicle while switching lanes. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing both side detection systems to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact stated that the side detection system warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and also made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated in 2020 he took the vehicle to Uptown Chevrolet (1101 E Commerce Blvd, Slinger, WI 53086: (262) 297-4471) and also made them aware of the failure. The contact stated that the failure also affected the rear camera and there were multiple warning lights illuminated. The contact stated he had the vehicle repaired approximately 8 times in total. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

ENGINE
The engine and engine parts of my vehicle malfunctioned and caused excessive oil leakage. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The safety of my family is put at risk because: - The vehicle engine sputters while driving. - The engine leaks oil excessively, smokes, and lets off an oil burning odor. - The radio screen blanks out frequently. All of the issues combined worry me because I have had the vehicle serviced multiple times and the safety issues still exist. The vehicle was serviced by the manufacturer. The problems found were: engine concern for squeaking drive belt, front timing cover leaking oil, and camshaft cover leaking. The vehicle had special coverage warranties with the manufacturer for some of the parts that needed to be repaired. There were not any warning lamps, messages, or indicators for the engine issues. I encountered the engine smoking, the vehicle sputtering, a strong odor of oil burning, and excessive oil leakage spots in my driveway. These issues made me take the vehicle in. The engine light did not light up for the issues. No indicator light(s) were on when the vehicle was taken in to be serviced. The vehicle was serviced and the faulty parts were replaced. However, the same issues are present and have not subsided after being serviced, replaced, and or repaired. I worry that the engine issues for my vehicle can not be corrected and that select engine parts should be recalled.

Vehicle is consistently overheating and needing replacement parts to prevent overheating. Sept 2019 Chevy replaced the water outlet housing. June 2020 Chevy replaced the water pump because car was overheating Now the head gaskets are damaged and car is unuseable. Vehicle is consistently overheating every year and needed repairs. Vehicle does fit the criteria for 2013-2014 Chevy Cruze recall, however the car does not have a turbo engine.

ENGINE
The hose that carries the coolant constantly pops off and leaks coolant. I had it fixed in 2019 at a dealership when it first happened. It started happening again last year and it will over heat. A light in my car comes on saying things are shutting down in order to cool the vehicle. I cant afford to keep fixing it. I don't know why it keeps happening.
