I am reporting Ed Morse Cadillac Delray Beach, for improperly handling a manufacturer recall service, which resulted in a new safety issue on my 2013 Cadillac SRX. On February 22nd 2025 I brought my vehicle in for the Cadillac rear tow link separation recall. After the dealership performed the repair, my ABS system malfunctioned—an issue that never existed before. The dealership initially acknowledged the issue but later dismissed it and refused to acknowledge the issue. Worse, they encouraged me to leave and drive the vehicle despite the ABS warning light being on, showing no concern for my safety. This is a serious safety concern, as my braking system was directly affected following a manufacturer recall service. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this dealership’s recall handling process and reconsider their status as an authorized recall service provider to protect future customers from similar issues.

Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2015 Cadillac SRX VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 75,000 miles Location: Flint MI I am experiencing multiple issues with my 2015 Cadillac SRX that pose serious safety concerns. EVAP Solenoid and Throttle Failure: The EVAP solenoid and throttle are not functioning properly, leading to performance issues. Gas cap light comes on.The SUV struggles to accelerate, especially when attempting to merge or drive at highway speeds. Rear Suspension Not Repaired:The rear suspension problem was not properly repaired by Al Serra Cadillac, despite previous service.This has resulted in unstable handling and potential safety risks while driving.Acceleration Issues: At 75,000 miles, the vehicle is failing to accelerate properly, which is extremely dangerous when merging onto highways or making quick maneuvers.Safety Concerns:The throttle and acceleration issues make it difficult to maintain safe driving speeds.The rear suspension problem impacts the vehicle’s stability and handling.These issues create a serious risk to both myself and other drivers on the road. Attempts to Resolve: The rear suspension was previously serviced by Al Serra Cadillac, but the issue persists.The problem has not been adequately addressed by the dealership. I am requesting immediate attention to these concerns, as they directly impact vehicle safety. I would like Cadillac and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to investigate these failures and determine if they are related to existing recalls or defects. The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were extremely dim, limiting the visibility of the roadway. The contact was concerned that the failure might cause a crash. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer,r where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING
This vehicle has had an intermittent (for a few years) issue with all of the warning lights (ABS,Stabilitrak,Parking Brake,Steering) coming on when starting. If you tried to drive it, you would have no power steering causing the vehicle difficult to handle. This would not happen every time it was started. We took the car to the local Cadillac dealership and were told nothing was wrong and it was just the system going through the electronic check system and to just not put it in gear until after the lights cleared. That actually did work sometimes. Recently, it came off and would never go off. We took it to a shop that does other work on other vehicles for me. He found that the Electronic Brake Control Module was bad. He tried to source a replacement one but found that it was discontinued with no alternate part. He did find a used one which we are waiting on to be delivered and then installed. My first concern is that if this happened when my wife was driving she could lose control of the vehicle causing an accident. My second concern is how can GM discontinue a known problem (I found multiple forums discussing this issue) part with no replacement. The vehicle is 10 years old with only 75K miles. I have read this has been an issue for quite a few years.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The headlights on my 2016 SRX Cadillac have extremely dim headlights. I can barely see in front of me at night. The drivers side light is especially dim. The only way I can see is if I drive with my highbeams on. When I’m driving with my regular lights on and a car is coming at me I feel blinded. I’m scared to drive at night. I fear that I’m going to hit something or someone. This has been going on for a while now and at first I thought I was imagining things, and perhaps it was my eyesight, but it’s absolutely not. I’ve read online countless accounts of other people with 2010-2016 Cadillac srx that have the exact same problem as me. I just took it into the mechanic to have him look at the headlights.

POWER TRAIN
Two incidents of the same failure, although a few years apart. Vehicle placed in "Park" (foot on the brake, which is necessary in order to shift into P); when brake pedal released, vehicle suddenly revs and lurches forward. First time, in garage, and so minor damage except to items in garage; second time 3/7/2025, totaled this vehicle plus major damage to another vehicle.

I started my car using the remote start. When I opened my car the driver side seat was smoking and a hole had been burned in the back. The inside of the hole was red and appeared to be light up like a hot coil. I turned my car off and tapped/blew on the area to put out the little fire.

POWER TRAIN, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Problem: My 2010 Cadillac SRX with 87,000 miles been having issues with downshifting , my vehicle would not shift to second or higher gear while driving and makes it very unsafe on the road. When this occurs I would try to pull over safely to park. My SRX would be drivable if shifted to park and then shift to drive or if i turn off the vehicle and re-start. I have been back and forth going to my mechanic( s). I was told possible TCM issues but no definite diagnosis. I have been reading a lot of 2010 SRX owners on Cadillac forums with exact similar issues and decided on making this official to report to NHTSA hoping it would open an investigation and figure out the defect on this type vehicle. My vehicle issue or problem started to become symptomatic around year 2021 and my SRX has around 63,000 miles on it. I keep up with the regular scheduled maintenance and upkeep, The SRX looks like new and would like to keep it longer as the rest of the vehicle is kept it's appearance and other parts well. I have reported this issue directly to the main contact number @Cadillac company and they told me my vehicle VIN is not included on the safety recall with shifting issues and offered me a $100.00 for repair coupon instead for future repairs. i have spent thousands of dollars fixing the unidentifiable issue whenever the engine light comes on and throws out a code but my downshifting problem continues.

SERVICE BRAKES
I’m sending in this complaint which is a common problem with the Cadillac SRX. The ABS breaks go soft when activated. I have no breaks , the breaks go to the floor. This is so dangerous. Now I have to turn the car off and pump the breaks. This sometimes take a whole day to get the breaks back. Why isn’t this a recall??

Just randomly if I have to brake the brakes go all the way to the floor. Sometimes have to pump the brakes to stop. Last couple of days when there’s rough road it feels like the brakes are on when accelerating and car begins to shake.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
The headlights on low beam , have become too dim. we have replaced the bulbs , but they did the same thing. Low beam visibility is definitely a safety issue. Took the vehicle to a body shop, and they concluded the whole light assembly would need replacement, to remedy the issue. No warning lights or messages have ever appeared. We had them replace both light assemblies, and the problem was resolved. We feel it should be a warranty issue.

The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact stated that the front headlamp assemblies were previously replaced due to the same failure; however, the failure reoccurred. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 99,700.

A deer hit the driver side of my car. The air bag had a smell but did not deflate. The seatbelts kinda detached from the driver’s seat and both front seatbelts are locked very tight. This happened 1/3/25. About three months ago while driving, the driver seat went into the lowest level position. When I put it back where I could drive it, it did it again. I had to keep putting it in place till I got home. It hasn’t done that again yet. Please send me any recalls so I can get them fixed. Thank you

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The headlights, when put in "dim/low beam" are almost non working. One can see the lights are working, but it is almost like driving blind. The dealership people know about the problem and stated that the heat on the lens cover, inside the headlight assembly causes that cover to warp, deform and will not permit adequate light to shine out. They then told me the assembly parts and labor would be over $3000. This issue is dangerous because on an unlighted street with no accompanying traffic to provide lighting, it is almost like having no headlights at all. The dealership and Cadillac know about the issue but refuse to do anything about the problem that is due to their own faulty manufacturing.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I purchased this vehicle on January 1, 2025. I drove it last night for the first time after dark. The headlights were so dim I could hardly see to drive. I had to use my brights except when a car was coming towards me, then I put them on dim and slowed way down. Leaving them on bright would have endangered other drivers and myself. I purchased the car with no warranty so now I either drive only during daylight hours or I pay out of pocket to have them fixed which I'm sure isn't cheap. I am going to go to the dealership that I purchased it from to see if they will help me at all, but since there was no warranty, I'm not expecting them to give me any assistance with this. When you look at the headlights during the daytime, which is when I bought the car there is no visible sign of an issue with them. No warning lamp has come on to let me know there is an issue and since I just purchased the car I don't know when they first appeared so dim. I noticed there are numerous complaints about this issue. Why isn't GM doing something about it.
