My 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV with the 6.2L L87 engine received the remedy for Safety Recall 25V-274 (GM recall number N252494001) on July 30, 2025. The dealer inspected the engine, passed it, and performed the higher viscosity oil remedy. The engine was not repaired or replaced. On [DATE], while driving, the vehicle hesitated and lost power under acceleration. Engine noise then increased progressively until I pulled over on the side of the road. The engine stopped running and would not restart. The dash displayed a message to press the start button again. The check engine light illuminated at the time of failure. There were no warning lights prior to that day. My family, including my children, were in the vehicle when it lost power. We were stranded on the roadside until the vehicle could be towed. The battery and electrical system are functioning normally, but the engine would not start. The vehicle was towed to a Cadillac dealership. At the dealership, a start attempt produced a loud knocking noise from the engine along with a fuel/oil odor. I believe the connecting rod bearings have failed. These symptoms — hesitation, loss of power, and knocking noise — are the exact pre-failure indicators GM identified in Recall 25V-274. This was a loss of motive power while driving on a public roadway, creating a serious crash risk for my family and surrounding traffic. The recall remedy performed on this vehicle was inadequate. GM inspected this engine, passed it, and it failed approximately one year later in exactly the manner the recall was intended to prevent. Date of incident: 08/08/2026 Mileage at failure: 66,000 Recall remedy completed: July 30, 2025 Vehicle was towed. No crash, fire, or injury occurred.

On June 18, 2026, while my nearly new 2026 Cadillac Escalade ESV was being driven on the Ohio Turnpike, the vehicle unexpectedly entered reduced-power or limp mode, lost propulsion, shut off, and would not restart. The vehicle had approximately 2,234 miles. The sudden loss of propulsion and engine shutdown occurred in active highway traffic and created a serious risk of a collision. The vehicle had to be towed from the Ohio Turnpike to Cole Valley Cadillac. Cole Valley Cadillac opened Repair Order 6206894 and determined that the engine requires replacement under the manufacturer’s warranty. The repair records reference replacement of the engine, engine core, and engine block. The vehicle has remained out of service since June 18, 2026, and no confirmed repair-completion date has been provided. General Motors was notified under Cadillac Customer Assistance Case 103386652 and GM Repurchase Case 1153162. I am reporting this incident because a catastrophic engine failure and sudden loss of propulsion in a nearly new vehicle at highway speed could place the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists at risk.

my 2023 cadillac escalade esv, was having issues when it had about 50-60 k miles, when it was in park hen shift to reverse it would jerk all the time, also my engine started to act up as well, I took it to the cadillac dealer and like always could not identify the problem, when the had the recall or engine put thicker oil, like that was going to resolve the problem well my engine started to misfire, did not want to accelerate started shaking the smoke came out, engine lights came on, had to tow it to the cadillac dealear now they are telling me if i got the extended warranty, i did but the issue is with them engine failure, being in the escalade with 3 small children and 8 mo. pregnant is scary, I want GM to do a buyback on this affected ESCALADE l. what if it would have caught fire, would like help to get GM to buyback

XXX around 10:30pm I was driving on the expressway about 65mph when the car lost power and turned off without any warning. It immediately shifted into neutral without me shifting gears. I was stranded in the right lane at night with cars driving by. I was extremely nervous I was going to be rear ended. I was able to pull over to the right shoulder on the expressway and then the car wouldn’t start. I had to have it towed to my house. I tried to start it once I got home and it will crank but not start. The car is at the dealership near my house and they have confirmed that my car has engine problems and needs a new engine. The technician said, “It just locked up on you.” Car’s engine still under 100k miles! Car has not being inspected by any other person besides Cadillac dealer. I did not receive any warnings lights or symptoms before car just turned off car started and run just fine all day. I provide all maintenance to the car. I also do oil changes every 5,000 miles because I use this car for my work. I bought the car in December of 24 in [XXX] when it had 5,000 miles on it. I was assured it had no issues then. I have provided all the necessary maintenance. I am now being told a new engine will cost nearly $16,000 with over a months wait to repair. I own a 2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV equipped with GM's 6.2L L87 V8 engine. The recall remedy for GM Safety Recall N252494000 (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-274) was completed on April 17, 2026, at approximately 48,905 miles. Only approximately 2,347 miles later, on June 15, 2026, at approximately 51,252 miles, the engine experienced a severe malfunction while I was driving with passengers. Without warning, the engine began running extremely rough with severe vibration and shaking. The Check Engine Light began flashing, and Service StabiliTrak and Service Traction Control warnings appeared. A few minutes after I stopped the engine, it would not restart. I found no measurable engine oil on the dipstick. When the engine was started again, a large amount of blue smoke was emitted from the exhaust, while the engine continued running extremely rough. GM's official MyCadillac application displayed critical warnings for the Engine & Transmission System, Emissions System, Transmission System, and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) System. GM ultimately determined that the engine required complete replacement under warranty. Despite completion of GM Safety Recall N252494000 (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-274), the engine required complete replacement only approximately 2,347 miles later. The replacement engine remains on backorder. I understand that NHTSA has opened Recall Query RQ26001 regarding post-remedy L87 engine failures. Because my vehicle experienced a post-remedy engine failure only approximately 2,347 miles after completion of the recall repair, I respectfully request that this complaint be included as part of Recall Query RQ26001. I have preserved photographs, videos, diagnostic screenshots, and repair records.

VIN [XXX] I did the engine recall. All documented in Braman Cadillac. After the dealer gave me the clear after recall check, they did the GM change of oil etc. But i recently had an afrer recall failure with knock sounds coming from the engine. It is on 3 videos I saved, conditions were while iddle, while driving, while accelerating and braking. so vehicle motionless still had the sound. I had loss of power a few months ago, that I didn't associate to this recall until this sounds that I couldn't reproduce when took the car in, but it is on video. Driving on [XXX] in Missouri, on the way to Kentucky for business. Outside of St. Robert, motor started knocking and losing power. AC quit, knocking got worse the power loss continued. I limped it to the top of the hill with hazards on, pulled off the interstate on a large shoulder, not safe. could not stand in the ditch due to all the ticks, stood in front of the car then it started raining. Oncoming traffic started getting very close due to low visibility/heavy rain. Tow truck arrived in 2 hours. Towed to Thompson Cadillac in Springfield, cost me extra since it was beyond 100 Miles. Diagnosed as Engine Failure, will be 3 months in the shop, and i get a Buick subcompact as my rental, all they would approve. In August 2025 I purchased a brand new 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Platinum. Purchase Price $155,000. I maintained the car to the highest level possible since taking ownership. The total miles put on the car between August 2025 and May 2026 was 6,142. On May 14, 2026 at approx. 8am EST I was driving the car southbound on Alternate AIA (going from my house to my office). As the car was approaching the intersection of Alternate AIA and Hood Road the engine stopped running and turned off. The Car rolled to a stop and the dashboard displayed a message of "please push the start button". The electronics of the car were fully functional, the dashboard was on and I was able to roll the windows up and down, however when I would hit the start button on the car the engine would not turn on. The car could not be placed in neutral because the engine would not turn on, so the car was immobile in the middle of Alternate AIA (a 6 lane road) during peak morning rush hour. I was forced to call roadside service and have the car towed to Cadillac of West Palm Beach, the same dealership that I purchased the car from 9 months earlier. I got myself down to the Cadillac dealership at the same time as the car got there on the morning of 5/14/26. I checked the car in with the service department and explained the issue to them. I specifically asked if this is a known Engine issue with Cadillac Escalades, and they told me they have never seen this happen, ever (from my googling it appears this is infact a known issue, I think there is currently an ongoing NHTSA investigation into catastrophic engine failures affecting certain Cadillacs. The probe targets GM's L87 6.2-liter V8 engine, which can suddenly seize or lose propulsion due to manufacturing defects in the connecting rods and crankshafts). They said they would have a service tech look at the car for me A week later I was told the engine was dead and the car needed a full engine replacement.

I purchased a 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV and shortly thereafter experienced an engine malfunction. The vehicle developed a misfire, rough idle, loss of power, and produced significant blue/white exhaust smoke. The check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began running abnormally. An independent repair facility inspected the vehicle and reported oil-related issues affecting a cylinder and spark plug. The repair facility also observed excessive exhaust smoke during diagnosis. The condition raises concerns about potential engine failure while driving, which could result in loss of power and create a safety hazard in traffic. The vehicle is currently undergoing diagnostic testing, including a leak-down test, to determine the cause of the failure. The problem has been confirmed by a repair facility and occurred shortly after purchase.

An intermittent orange flashing light in or near the heads-up display area has been reported at multiple service visits on my 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV (VIN: [XXX]) with no resolution. First reported XXX (RO XXX, Ed Morse Cadillac Tampa) — could not duplicate. Reported again May 13, 2025 (RO XXX) — could not duplicate. The issue continues to occur intermittently as of this filing. The orange flash occurs during nighttime driving and is visible to the driver. No cause has been identified and no fix has been provided across multiple authorized dealership visits. On XXX, Dimmitt Cadillac of Pinellas Park confirmed three tires on my 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV (VIN: [XXX]) at 3/32" tread depth with alignment wear damage — unsafe for highway travel at 41,796 miles. A fourth tire replaced via warranty at 20,586 miles is now at 7/32". All four tires are destroyed or degraded. This alignment condition was never identified or communicated across six service visits at two authorized Cadillac dealerships spanning March 2024 through December 2025, each including tire rotations and multi-point inspections by certified technicians. It was mentioned once on August 1, 2025 as a routine upsell with no urgency, no description of existing damage, and no warning that tires were being destroyed. The vehicle showed no symptoms of alignment loss — no pulling, vibration, or handling anomaly. No collision, pothole strike, or road hazard occurred. The night vision camera lens on my 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV cracked from what appears to be road debris during normal highway driving. No collision occurred. The crack — a star pattern consistent with a rock strike — was discovered during a service visit on December 1, 2025 (RO 502394, 37,314 miles). I was not aware of the failure prior to that visit, meaning the safety system may have been inoperative for an unknown period. The lens is positioned very low on the driver side grille with no protection — directly in the path of road debris at highway speeds. This placement of a standard glass lens on a safety-critical system appears to be a design defect. Research confirms multiple Cadillac owners across the Escalade and XT6 have reported identical cracking from road debris, suggesting a systemic issue across GM night vision systems. Replacement cost is $1,701.23 and requires a proprietary tool available only at Cadillac dealers. GM has categorized this as a road hazard requiring an insurance claim rather than addressing it as a design defect.

My 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV lost power and shut down while I was driving on the highway. The gas pedal stopped responding, and the vehicle would not restart afterward. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion while driving in traffic. The vehicle is less than one year old and is already going to be on its third engine. The original engine was already replaced once before. The previous replacement engine was a brand-new GM engine with 0 miles, but it failed after only about 20,000 miles. Pepe Cadillac confirmed that this is the second replacement engine, which means the third engine counting the original engine. The dealer also confirmed that the engine locked up due to internal bearing material failure and needs to be replaced again. The repair order number is 140134. I am concerned this is a serious safety-related engine defect. A brand-new GM replacement engine should not lock up after only about 22,000 miles, especially while driving on the highway. I am also concerned that simply replacing the engine again may not fully address the safety and reliability issue with this vehicle. Cadillac Customer Care case number: 100539041.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The headlights on our 25 Escalade started to fail. They basically became more and more dim to the point it looks like the Daytime running lights are on at night instead of the headlights. When we took it into the dealer to get checked they stated it was a known issue. Apparently it’s such a large issue that one of the headlights is back ordered with no timeline. This seems like a serious safety issue that customers were not being warned about.
