The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

SummaryThis Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for multiple concerns including service engine soon light, reduced power, no crank or start, multiple warning lights on, transmission shifts hard, or the door locks cycle while driving. The transmission control module or engine control module may not communicate with the scan tool. This could be caused by unseated pin or pins in the transmission connector. The technician should inspect the transmission connector X1 terminals by disconnecting it and carefully tugging on each wire to ensure the pins are fully seated. On the Cadillac ATS and CTS only the check the harness securing bracket on the passenger side of the vehicle were the transmission bell housing is attached to the engine block the harness should hang below the securing bracket. The harness should also be checked for chaffing.

Summary15684 - SERVICE UPDATE. THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES A SERVICE PROCEDURE TO INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPOSITION THE MAIN ENGINE-WIRING HARNESS ON CERTAIN 2016 MODEL YEAR CADILLAC ATS-V VEHICLES. IN SOME OF THESE VEHICLES, THE ORIENTATION OF THE MAIN-ENGINE WIRING HARNESS COULD CAUSE THE WIRES TO CONTACT AND CHAFE AGAINST THE RIGHT-FRONT VALVE COVER BOLT AND WASHER. IF THE ENGINE-WIRING HARNESS INSULATION IS COMPROMISED, THE VEHICLES TACHOMETER, POWERTRAIN, AND AUTOMATIC-BRAKING SYSTEMS COULD BE EFFECTED. WHILE THIS CONDITION COULDIF UNCORRECTEDCAUSE A LOSS OF PROPULSION OR THE ACTIVATION OF THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM, GM HAS NO REPORTS INDICATING THAT EITHER EVENT HAS OCCURRED ON A VEHICLE IN THE FIELD.
